Factory reset Xperia Z - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using xperia z running 4.4.4 rooted device. Rooting was done by xda procedure (flashing) and not towelroot. I want to know that can I factory reset in device via system settings? Will this unroot my device or brick my device? Thank-you!

Factory reset wipes /data. The su (root) binaries are in the /system partition and will be untouched.

[Q] Any idea how to get root access on 9.1.A.0.490 (LT25i Singapore)?

Hey Guys,
I've been trying to try to get a root on my LT25i on JellyBean.
Till date, I am unable to get root.
I'm looking at using my Carrier's stock firmware.
Build: 9.1.A.0.490
Carrier: M1, Singapore
Read the all in one thread.
Downgrade to ics, Root, then follow the instruction s to upgrade whilst keeping root

We can't use flash tool to downgrade cause its not supported! Any other suggestions??
Thanks

Yes it is, just flash an ICS ftf
Sent from my LT30p using xda app-developers app
EDIT,
Sorry my mistake, now I am at my PC I can see you have a V.
In which case rooting is easy..just unlock you rbootloader and flash an insecure kernel.

I think that app should be patched directly on device you want to install it. Or maybe you had installed "normal application" on xsp first, didn't work, patched and tried to update? I had a problem with gta:sa where obb files blocked me from installing patched app. Deleted it and it worked just fine.

There are threads in dev section. I think custom fw is worth trying as well. Even better than stock. I didn't want to dabrand my phone when i got it and later go away from stock rom, but now i'm sure cfw are being done to be greater than stock. There you can find detailed instructions

It depends on update.
If it's only minor update, usually it's possible.
But big OTA updates won't work.
You'll get notification and be able to download but it'll show error as soon as you try to flash it.
You can use flashtool

I'm on jb 4.3 it will be kk 4.4 if I would try to take ota will it booked my phone only no modifications have been done only rooted?

Didn't quite understood this...
But yeah...I'm 99.9% sure OTA will fail on this.
Try...you can't lose anything...if you see error msg, nothing bad won't happen.
Just download ftf amd flash it through flashtool, exclude all wipes and you'll be on 4.4 with all data and accounts...

When facing with this problems, it is recommenddd to immediately flash stock firmware upon shutdown of device. Use flashtool and flash ur device's stock firmware to your device quickly

Which Williams kernel? Cm ones cannot be used on existenz
Sent with the XDA Premium Application for the XPERIA SP running CM11s
I 100% guarantee it was the stock based kernel. Anyways, as it is still early in the morning here, I am just gonna write down some steps here. 1. Flash CWM for locked bootloader
2. Restore previous backup
3.See if it works?
4. Factory reset if it works
5. See if bootloader unlock allowed changed from yes to no and if yes unlock bootloader
6. Flash existenzultra
