So I have looked around everywhere for an answer to this question. I have a Sprint lg g flex using 4.4.2 with a build number ending in zv9(when I look it up on google it doesn't even show any results) and it will not root with any of the methods that i know.
Towelroot says device isnt supported. i tried even using the temporary modstrings number and that just freezes the app. I have also tried ioroot and it also says the device is not supported I dont know what to do. i wish i could downgrade back to my previous build number which is zv7 so that i can go back to using a rooted phone but I don't know how to do this either. Please help thank you. This is driving me crazy
Check IORoot or Stump root threads.
Do ask before in threads..
So I have asked in other threads and waited for a reply but no one has answered my question, I just want a rooted phone again

ZV9 from Sprint? The last 4.4.2 from Sprint is ZV7. I never got those updates u mentioned.
If u want to root it again, go back to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644083
Accept 2 updates N u will be in 4.4.2 (ZV7). From that, u can root ur phone with towelroot or Ioroot, but it's easier with towelroot.
Good luck

How does the Brute force method begin after I install the app?
As soon as I install Stump Root it tells me I'm rooted...and it is not.
I know I shouldn't have upgraded to ZV9!
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi, I`m with my first Android and tried to root it using this tutorial (i'm with stock rom):

Everything seemed to work fine, but it never asked me for root permission and each program that needs it, tells me that I have no root access.

Do you have the ROM Manager installed? if yes...switch on wifi and select the clockworkmod choosing the LG Optimus2X and wait for it to be flashed.
Do you get that the apps dont have root access?

ROM manager says that I cannot select clockworkmod cause I haven't got root permission
I've tried the tutorial to get root access a dozen times. In all of them things seems ok, but when I open apps that need root access, they tell me I don't have it.

Personally i think that there is some problem....try rebooting both your computer and the O2X and then restart the rooting process....before that read the thread a bit carefully...might be you are missing something...the rooting process normally works good...

More problems...
Root Check Basic says it's rooted;
Busybox installer also says it's rooted. It installs but if I open it again it says Busybox isn't installed.
Titanium Backup says it isn't rooted. FasterFix also.
Is there anyway to go back to zero and do it all again?
Update superuser. Reboot then try again..

How did you root it? if you used some "universal" rooter then the outcome is pretty expected. Our device structure is a "bit" different, so you should follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928509 (Make sure you have read and understood everything, including unlocked bootloader)
On the other hand, if you did followed that guide and completed all the steps, it may be the case that your phone is rooted, but just it doesn't show itslef up. Just install any program that require root permissions (Titanium Backup, for instance) and launch it. If Superuser screen pops up asking for permission - you are done. If not - the link is above

Okay thank you very much. I got Titanium Backup and then the superuser screen popped up, so i guess it is rooted
EDIT: But then how come i can't use any of the hack tool like Game Killer, GameCIH/2, Freedom and Game Guardian???
cause it says "deny root" or "Root privilege required".

Oh and can i install Omars rom after i root it?
If you use Omars Rom you don't have to root. Just use cwm to install the Rom.

Ok so just to clarify, I am running a SM-G900A. On baseband ending in ANG3. Towelroot does not support my device, so the above suggestion is the only way to root? And with our bootloader being locked, safetystrap is the only partial recovery we have to flash? I had just got the S5 and it came with the newer OTA update. Thank you in advance.

Yes, everything you said is correct. Flash the ND3 kernel and run towelroot. Install Safestrap as well, and then you can flash the NG3 kernel back to your phone.
Bought my S5 2 days ago with the latest Att ota update like yours. Odin the kernel back, applied towel root, Odin kernel forward to root as described above. Works perfectly. Can install safestrap after or before moving kernel forward.

I just tried every one and they worked great for me. I would try a different browser. If you are using safari you need to turn off auto open/extract option.
I randomly noticed today that there is a firmware update available for this tab via Kies-- not sure yet what the changes are yet but the upgrade seemed to go smoothly.
I saved the image, extracted the recovery.img and root.img, and posted for Chainfire here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57390437&postcount=690
I'm crossing my fingers hoping he will able able to provide support for this tablet! Being able to get past the kitkat SD card restrictions would be great.
The new version is T807VVRU1ANK1. Kernel version is 3.4.0. I'm not sure if that changed.
thanks for posting this to chainfire, i have this tablet and have been waiting for root!
how long does it usually take assuming they started working on it immediately?

You have to extract them from a firmware image. Since they're not yet available for download from sammobile.com, you have to wait for a firmware update via Kies. After you follow the prompts to update, follow these instructions to save the firmware: http://androidforums.com/threads/how-to-backup-firmware-from-kies-upgrade-process.458795/
Once you've save the firmware image you can easily extract the files he needs.
