of course that is unlocking GSM (uses sim card) not CDMA.

I think this require an unlocked bootloader.
And, if you want my advice, is better use SuperSU app we known and official method for rooting/s-offing
Nope!!! You have to unlock bootloader.PERIOD!!!

HI does anybody know of a safe rooting method for the TMo. LG G FLEX 4.4.2 since the D959m20 update? I looked all over and can't find anything that says it will specifically work with D959m20. If anyone know about this please let me know,

Does your download mode still work? I have two of these phones and since using towelroot I can't seem to get to download mode.

i heen seen XT1055 working on GSM network .. but i don't know how they are working .. after OTA , network will be gone ..

I am not aware that XT1055 ever was at 4.4.4. Mine made it to 4.4.2 way back, then jumped via OTA to 5.1 last week.
Dude, there isn't any 4.4.4 sbf file! I have this device and I can tell you that we don't have it! I will send you a link to the team uscc site for the twrp back up of 5.1 If you like.
