It was available on the playstore for like 10 mins and was pulled,but i got the link from Androidpolice. I posted the link for Androidpolice in the op

Wonder if issues were what caused it to br pulled. Ran it an opened and locked just fine though.

I always used Google Maps in the past, but then my S4 introduced me to Scout. Not sure which I like the most, but I will definitely give Google another go

It's one of the apps downloaded by Sprint after initial activation. You can still check it out in the Play Store.

Scout is sprint's version of Telenav

Maps automatically updated from the Play Store today on my S4, it says it is being rolled out slowly so maybe just a select number of downloads at a time while they test it? Not sure.
I like and dislike the new update.
The new UI is pretty smooth and clean.
However they removed the option for zoom buttons. You used to be able to decide if you wanted to display them or not, now there is no option what so ever. However they've added a little help file that shows all the gestures and one i was unaware of (or maybe it is new, probably not) is double tap and hold then drag up to zoom in and drag down to zoom out. Makes up for the lack of buttons I suppose since you can still zoom in/out with one hand/finger.
Another thing I'm a little sour at google for sending the way of the dinosaur is latitude. I always enjoyed stalking my friends, but they've decided to kill latitude altogether. I got an email from google today:

This means that after August 9, your Latitude friends list will be deleted and you'll lose the ability to share your location with them. So looks like now in order to stalk friends they must use google+ and enable location sharing. Oh well.
Otherwise I am pleased with the changes.

does anyone else not have the explore tab, cause i cant get it on my phone or tablet

I'm waiting to see how long it takes to get updated on my phone, nothing yet.

Got the update yesterday... and I must say I am impressed. UI is fresh and clean. I like it better, good job Google.

Where is the contacts tab...there used to be a tab u can viewed all your contacts with addresses and now its gone

Save your DATA with just an app..

These days almost all mobile data providers have a cap. 2gb a month is not enough if we have sync on and background data on. this app actually compresses background data and saves data for us.
It can almost extend our usage upto 5 times....

Have you checked today? It says it expired yesterday. Anyway, the reason I am asking is because I am a bit skeptical about this app. I mean, if data is compressed on our phone, how does the other side know that it is compressed and understand it? The only way I can think of this working is if there is a proxy server somewhere decompressing the data and forwarding them where they were supposed to go. But this means the server has access to all our data traffic. Or am I paranoid?

Would not recommend. It works through a VPN and somehow caused a lot of my google apps to not work properly.
For instance google now will show '' google now is not available in your country''.
This wasnt caused by anything else apart from this.
update: after restoring backup, google now is still not available in my country.
i could have sworn this problem only began occuring after installing this app. any ideas for a fix?
opening google search does not show me any cards whatsover and its settings does not have any options to enable google now. (latest version from play store)

If so, just uninstall this app and clear cache.... But I have problem with only xda app.... Rest are working fine....

Clearing cache fixed the issue for me.
Xda is always problematic for me especially with ad away.
I suggest using something like tapatalk

I installed this a few months ago. After a month of using it, I found that it used more data than any other app... Uninstalled...

This would also indicate the strong possibility (really likelihood), that the owners of the transaction server have access to the data (your data) passing thru their servers.

Kitkat T-Mobile update dialer bug

Hey guys, I've been experiencing a glitch with the 4.4 update when pulling up the keyboard. I thought it might be a leftovers from the previous version causing problems but I've done a factory reset and still there. I've got the problem on my developers edition as well my T-Mobile 16gb.
Here's the situation. From home screen, I tap on the phone icon and obviously get this.

The weird thing is I tried to recreate the problem on my dad's phone (Dev. Edition) and his phone goes straight to the dialer with keypad open (I.e. the third screen shot). He's using next launcher so I don't know if that's the difference

if you are using next launcher dialer shortcut the glitch is not there but if you are using stock dialer glitch is there,

I think its a kitkat issue. I had the same problem on my nexus 5

I was i n the soak test for the Sprint upgrade and had that issue. I can't remember when but I switched over to ART and booted into stock recovery and wiped the cache. Then noticed when I opened the dialer that that issue went away, has never returned.

That's what i get with now on tap in germany (english system language). Anyone outside US with working now on tap?

I'm in the US and also get "Google Now can't be reached at the moment"

How do you use the now on tap? Whats different than saying OK Google?

They shut it down mess than 12 hours later for me. It was buggy and never really showed me any cards but I hope the launch version fixes this.

lets just wait few more days for Android 6.0 and we have now on tap!

I'm on 5.3.29.19 version on preview 3 and all icons search bar etc. Have been rethemed but still telling to wait for gnot

Well working perfect now tried to screenshot with my above post but had to start a new xda account and can't add images due to low post counts. Have been searching all day for the best 5.1.1 rom to get exposed back but this little jewel might keep me on marshmallow.... But I'll probably change my mind n an hour lol

Disable Edge Screen from Lockscreen?

Does anyone know how or if you can disable your edge screen from showing up on the lock screen? I can flip through my edge pages and I wouldn't want people to be able to see my favorite contacts etc. You can't unlock the phone but you can scroll through every edge page. Annoying.

Open the settings for each edge screen. You can hide the contents with a toggle in the advance setting in the upper right.
If it doesn't have one then you should ask the dev to put one in.

Thanks, appears it doesn't work with any of the default edge apps. I'll just shut the edge off, I guess. It says you can not show People edge on the lockscreen but toggling it off does nothing, they still show up. I'd rather not have people have access to my favorite contacts, etc. I'll have to live without the edge until they fix stuff I guess.

Yeah it would be a colossal waste of time trying. They keep you on hold for 4 hours as it is.

Then you are one of the lucky ones.
I figured it out. Since I have smartlock turned on with my watch my lock screen doesn't actually lock. If I turn off my watch(or disconnect it) screen locks and I can't see the info.

You don't have to use smart lock. I only use it in car. Iris works really fast when you grab the phone.

When smartlock is on and connected to that item the edge display will show content because the phone never locks. Once it is away from what smartlock is connected to then it hides the content.
