Make sure to backup your current system Ui. Apk.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2954426
Here. Is the original system ui files. Not a flashable zip. So unzip and replace the 2 files in system/privapp/systemui.

I'm getting offset carrier ID on the lockscreen with a different DPI
I have stock DPI and have the same issue. Probably has something to do with the fact the mod is for the N5 which has the DPI set to something else

Me too. Not a big deal. Maybe someone who knows more how this works could fix this for us. I'm still gonna rock it though.
For you guys who tried this, did you backup your original sysyem. Ui. I didn't and think it might of gotten rid of ambient display. If so can I have a copy.

I modded the nexus 6's systemui apk to center the clock, and make it gray. So far its working well enough. It looks a little weird on the lockscreen though, as it is not quite aligned with the other icons. Feel free to flash it and let me know how it goes. Backup your system first though.
I flashed it.. Nice work!
Hopefully we can see it removed from the lockscreen completely once the bugs are worked out.

Hi guys, I have been using my themed V for a couple of weeks with no problems until recently, my systemUI started crashing for no reason when I go into maps or Facebook.
I tried reinstalling the apps, reverting to a older version, flashing a nandroid backup, replacing the systemUI.all but nothing seems to work so I have no idea what to upload here for the talented developers to help.
I've done everything that I know how to save reflashing the whole phone using flashtool.
Speaking of which, does flashtool work on Windows 8?

You mean just like before?
You can only copy /res/layout/statusbar_header.xml from that one I made before, to your new SystemUI, using winrar. And that's it.

So, thanks to this thread by @Ticklefish and of course the great work by @scrosler giving us CleanROM 1.1. I made a "center clock and Carrier Text removed" (from normal status bar, it's still on lockscreen status bar though) SystemUI.apk.
This is deodexed and so you need to be on a deodexed ROM or I think you can just delete the files in the arm64 folder, but I'm not 100% on if that will work.
Put the file in /system/priv-app/SystemUI/ and change permissions to 0644.
If this does not work, don't blame me, I am not the one moving the files and such on your phone, you are, and so YOU take responsibility for YOUR actions.
Edit: had to remove the ROM from the other thread, there was a misunderstanding of the Dev's ROM OP which lead to me thinking it was OK to use, it was not. I may try again but it'll be a while, I have much more important things in my life then redoing work.
Nice!
On that thread, there is a post with a smali mod for stopping the clock from showing on the lockscreen. I can't guarantee that it'll work but it's worth trying!

Got it all fixed up and put it onto a deodexed version of @scrosler clean rom. Again thanks for the tips and guide.
Update. Redid the ROM based on stock. It's up again in the development section.
So on stock rooted:
Just replace the original systemui.apk with this one, make sure permission is 0644 and restart?

Not unless you want bootloops. This is deodexed. You need a deodexed ROM. You MAY be able to delete the files in arm64 folded and replace the apk with mine, then fix permissions and reboot. I can't promise that will work though as I've not tried.

Deodexed or no? Clean rom is no deodexed by itself. Also the SystemUI is pulled from OE2 so it probably won't work on OCE based ROMs

Keep a notification active ( signal check keeps your signal in notification, blocking AT&T, sure others like tasker and such can to).
No other easy way I know of. Convince the system your on a different carrier ( not sure how). Get exposed to work and make a module. Decompile SystemUI yourself and make the XML changes.

Google around for CSC edits. You can change a CSC value to imitate a Verizon S6 and you'll lose the carrier notification.

Ok guys I have made some of these for the nexus 6 as I really can't stand having the back button on the left so I made a mod to reverse the back and recents buttons if anyone is interested, this has only been tried and verified working on build MDB08M and added for MMB29M but should work on any stock build, if your on a custom rom I can make one for that rom if you post your framework-res.apk and systemui.apk as flashing on a rom that has anything changed in sysemui can cause problems. I just added one that will switch the softkeys and adds center clock. Added the swap for NPD35K with thanks from @biff6789 for catching the other areas that needed to be changed.

You should add [MOD] to the headline of the OP.
So in order to use this mod you have to flash it and be rooted?

Yes, you need to have a custom recovery i.e. twrp to flash, no need for root, but while you're at it you might as well go the distance.
