I tried to update to CM 12 BETA and then downgraded to CM 11 and then to stock ROM and that caused my entire phone to have problems these last days. One of these problems is that I can call from my phone, connect to the WIFI send messages etc, but I can't connect to 3G. Nothing changes when I change my APN and I have started to believe that something changed in the network drivers of the phone. Can anyone help me?

In communication manager i see that i am connected with my provider, signal is OK but i can't connect or even send SMS. The sim is OK (tested in another phone, even test another sim on shift).
I flash the new rom with the phone enabled, tried again the old radio with previous ROMs but no luck. Everything else works fine, signal is OK but no communication at all.
Any ideas????
what do you call "connect"? phone calls? data?

By saying "connect" i mean that i get the signal bars and by pressing the antenna image a popup says that i am connected with my provider. I am GSM, and i don't have data neither i can send SMS. This happen after four months of use your liberated ROM with the GPS (excellent job by the way). I am trying now your latest ROM with phone enabled and just after the flash i just made one phonecall succesfully and then everything stop working again when i tried to send an SMS. Now although the signal bars and all my provider information are OK i can't send SMS, make a voice or data call.
The reason of using the latest ROM was to change the radio part in case something was wrong with it - i am thinking now that maybe is a hardware problem......
If your problem is you don't have data and sms, try searching forums for "network wizard cab", download and install it, soft reset, open Settings->Connections->Network Wizard and select your country and provider.
After you get your settings you can uninstall Network Wizard if you want

But after installing a new ROM a Connection Setup wizard runs and configures the device with the correct settings for data, but always after a reset i have the same problem.
Solved: i choose manually the network and the band in SIM settings and everything works OK. The only problem is that it doesn't connect any more in 3G, only in GPRS.

i have a same problem with u,only can connect using gprs,i think i am the only one have this problem,hope someone will create a new radio to make me use a 3g or hsdpa

I posted the same problem a few months earlier...
at that time, my solution was to try to flash different roms...even those for other models...
the effort worked only temporarily...
after staying connected for a while, the connection drops (the screen shows it is still connected, but it is not connected)
i'm now also waiting for a solution...
BTW, if i set the reception to GSM only (GPRS)
gprs works fine and remains steadily connected for days
Have a problem with receiving and sending messages and phone calls since updating to 2.1. SMS are delayed and sometimes I don't get them at all, also calls are not coming through.
Switching phone to "2g only" resolves the issue, but something is broken in 3g mode. I can get to the internet in 2g and 3g mode. My network operator is PlusGSM, I use my phone in Poland.
Config:
Network: PlusGSM (Poland)
Currently installed ROM: Greek 2.1
ROM ver.: GT540-V20a-OCT-05-2010
APN config.: Standard APN config for PlusGSM provided in ROM, 1 APN for internet, and 1 for MMS.
I've tried different 2.1 ROMS (France, CIS, Baltic) and all have the same issue.
Help !
it seems to be a problem with some gt540's and upgrading to 2.1 roms. mine has this exact same issue and so do quite a few other people on the macado forums. my girlfriends phone which is exactly the same phone and bought at the same time doesnt have this problem.
its very strange to be honest. its as if when on 3g it disconnects from the network and doesnt recieve anything. then it must reconnect when you start something like the internet or something and then all the messages come through.
would love to be able to tell you how to fix it but i cant.
Yea i have the same issue with my phone. Im not sure but i think the problem was before the 2.1update. But it seems to have gotten worse after the update though.

I have something like this in 1.6; sometimes calls are not coming through. Also it looses network connectivity totally sporadically. Never had these problems with other phones.
(Sometimes the phone also locks itself up, both of these problems I resolve by removing the battery a few secs, then it's back to its normal self again. Even tried a factory reset to no apparant avail.)

These other issues you are having could be due to a badly manufactured model, or not.
Im beginning to think that the text and calls issue may be an o2 Network problem.
I know 3 other people in my own family with this problem. I am on android 2.1 and using BlackSystem ROM, the second person with this problem in my family is using Baltic 2.1, and the third person is using the stock 1.6 that came with the phone.... and we are all on o2.
Since there is no visable info about the network providers from anyone who already posted here, could you kindly type down your network provider when you leave a reply? Thanks.

Yep a few of us are having this problem, but mine still works now and again. I'm using V20B 2.1 Vodafone Rom.

Having problems with my I8190N. About 2-3 days a go it suddenly lost ability to connect into internet. I can switch data connection on or off, it doesnt make any difference. I have tried to reflash various ROMs and it's all the same, no internet. I get the usual signal bars but no H/G/E marks.
It did not happen after flashing, had CM11 on it for days and I could connect Internet just fine. No carrier limitations either, I can make calls out and same SIM in my old phone can go to internet.
Should I flash the stock ROM/bootloader back and RMA it? Or is there something else I can do? (perhaps known issue and solvable on my own)
Phone is fairly new, bought it in August as brand new.
i suppose APN settings are correct?
you can try to flash another baseband to try with it, what is yours current baseband?
basebands you can find here for N version, XXAMJ ist newest and working for me...
I had the same problem a couple of days ago. It turns out that my problem was the simcard, have you tried to put another simcard in your phone and see if it works?
I have this problem, same with two phones and two SIM cards, both phones are ZTE, both problem SIM cards are on Vodafone, both phones have no problem connecting to data via t mobile sim? This leads me to believe that voda data does not work on zte phones, apn details are correct. Does anyone knowa fix?
finally sorted it........... f'd around with a few different apn's and even phoned up talktalk(same as vodafone network) who confirmed I had the right settings which I hadnt!
Found the correct settings on the geeksquad website. seems i didnt need to bother filling out some of the fields and then wham internet connection straight away!

I am unable to use mobile network flawlessly in my MI5. Sometimes SIM1 running, SIM1+SIM2 both running, none of SIM card works. 2 weeks back I mistakenly selected the radio band as USA Band from *#*#4636#*#* -> Phone information1. Then after a fresh flashboot ROM installed problem solved automatically, but ideally this should not be. But now I am having terrible issue with SIM1 and SIM2 signal reception. Finally I have successfully write NV Values which was originally. But even after setting up values to the original, I am not getting mobile network signal. If I put only one SIM card then status bar says No Signal. If I put both SIM then 1st one says No Signal and 2nd one says Emergency calls only. Sometimes randomly SIM1 runs but SIM2 not. sometimes both not, sometimes both. Frustrating experience ever. Would appreciate if anyone can help me.

I don't know whether i can help or not but i used to have mobile network fluctuating issue. At the same area, my SIM1 AND 2 will goes from 5 bar to 0, then came back to 3, then back to 0 then back to 5 again. It happen countless of times during the day(or even night). But the problem fixed when i switched to xiaomi.eu rom for mi5. I did do clean wipe system, data via twrp before i switched to xiaomi.eu rom.

Thanks for adding some views. Yesterday full day I was in latest EU ROM and the whole day I couldn't able to receive any signal. But around 8PM I have received signal @sim1 only. I hope I will be able to find out the culprit someday. But completely clueless

I'm having the same issue as you with my Mi5. Did you ever experienced those issues again?
Suddenly, my phone stopped connecting to 4G network, and even if it connects to 3G at best, the connection is pretty much slow. Phone calls through Dial-Up are not stable and laggy. I tried putting SIM card in another device and it works just fine. Nothing I've changed before this issue happened. After the issue happened I tried to install new OEM 6.0.1 Singapore from SamMobile & tried custom ROM but the issue remains, please help as I don't have another device and I need a solution ASAP.
