T-Mobile update - LG G Flex

I keep getting a system update in the notibar is it safe to accept it? I am rooted with team win recovery d95920m. Don't want to lose the ability to keep my custom recovery bumped. Thanks for any helpful replies

Me too, its 222.1 mb ..mine started on Dec.3, haven't had a chance to open it up and look . T-Mobile LG-D959.

I wouldn't install the update.Think it will brick. My update is about 220mb. I cant figure out how to get the notification to go away either. I have seen the option in a xposed module, but cant remember which one. Ive tried so many now. Im in the same boat as you. I just want to know the easiest way to get back to stock so I can jump (Tmobile)to a Nexus 6.

[Q] help - no su binary installed?

i have previously unlocked bootloader and rooted my device using the Hasoons all in one tool kit and then had been using ard 12.1.
I then fancied trying the latest GE 4.3 release (stock) which i downloaded and flashed and all seemed fine however when i went to check root was still there i have the icon but get a message saying that there is no su binary installed. I have tried to use the toolkit again to go back the root procedure in the hope i can re-install what ever is missing however for some reason now the tool kit comes up with an error message in the box saying waiting for device or device not recognized.
I have tried to sort the problem but now feel i am just going round and around in circles and really dont have the knowledge to put it right as im quite new to the flashing and modding side and dont fully understand all the terminology, im sure its probably something really simple to fix for those who know how so would really appreciate some advice.
My overall aim would be to be running the stock rom (or might even try the new arhd 4.3 ge) with root so that i can then use the volume + to wake mod as i find this really usefull as my power button is quite depressed and hard to use.

hello you are in need of the new 4.3 superuser.zip
http://download.clockworkmod.com/test/superuser-4.3-beta3.zip
if you are using CWM, when it asks to fix su upon reboot, select NO
Wow thank you!!!!!
You have no clue, or maybe you do, how lost I got trying to root my HTC One. This is all new to me, but this forum has helped massively. I found that the supersu zip I had was the older version when I already had 4.3 uploaded before rooting. This community rocks!
why do my gapps processes keep crashing?
NM forgot to full wipe
So I have the same issue - my only question is that I am running 4.4 now. Does this super user file still work or is there a 4.4 version?
Just use "SuperSu" if you face any root acces issues

Hi there, Im new to the rooting world, I have a htc one m7 from sprint trying to sim unlock it, as far as I know I unlocked the bootloader, tampered it, and rooted, but no access to super user so I can sim unlock it. I downloaded and installed this App that you mention, but still keeps saying no binary updated, and with this 4.3 version says there was an error installing superuser. Please help, I dont know what to do.
I was having this same issue on my Note 2 (4.3). I seem to have found a way to restore root that may help you as well.
I think this issue may be caused by the SU app & binary updates. Uninstalling the updates has restored root for me.
Go to:
Settings > More > Application Manager > All > SuperSU > Uninstall updates
(menu options may be slightly different on other devices)
This will roll back SuperSU and hopefully restore your root access.
Let me know if this helps.
Any updates on this? I'm trying to get root on an HTC One M7 that I just purchased and I'm running into the same error.
Thanks!

[Q] Teamwin, OTA update

Hi All I need help, I rooted my phone a while back, I done this because I was told that I would be able to get app's that are,
not available in your country, all it was, was the sky news app, Im not worried about it now as I have another news app that I use.
The main problem is every time I unlock my screen now I get the system update screen, I have tried to update but it just re-boots into teamwin so I just select later, this is getting very annoying now, the question is, is there anyway I can download the OTA update and update manually, if not how do I get the teamwin out so the phone.
Thanks

I don't think you can install an OTA properly if you have a custom recovery like TWRP. Try flashing the stock recovery and install OTA. See if that works
Thanks for the info but I really dont know how to do that ?
Thanks
Thanks for the info, Ive looked into this but am totally lost, when I read this like:
Make sure you have the correct CID, MID & Recovery installed
If anyone could guide me through this it would be a great help
Thanks

[Q] Rooting and OTA's

*I'm getting this out of the way first.* I know this may be a very stupid question to some of you, but I've looked on multiple threads and posts about this topic and have gotten mixed results and answers, so I thought this would be the best site to get a definitive answer.
I just got my Nexus 6 through AT&T today and wanted to root it to get rid of the very annoying AT&T splash screen you get when you turn the phone on. I know how to root and unlock the bootloader, but when I do that will I still be able to get OTA updates from Google without any fancy flashing or things like that? I'm sticking with stock Android and I'm not installing any custom ROMs. I know on a lot of other phones you can get OTA updates when rooted, but you have to install them manually. If it's too much of a hassle I just won't root it.
Thanks in advance,
Robert (Mokedoke)
It's better explained in other threads. But no, you can't take OTA. If you unlock only I believe you'll be fine. But as soon as you modify system files it won't work for OTA. Lollipop checks for these changes and the install will fail out.
You won't be able to get the OTA, but you can manually flash your phone to get the latest ROM and with out loosing data. Search the forum there directions to show you how.

[Q] Information Overload!

OK, I've read so much that things are just getting jumbled in my brain now. There's so much information in these threads that I don't know where to start. The world of Android apparently moves too fast for me to keep up. I've got a Verizon LG G2 that is stuck on 4.4.2, software version 24A. Right after I took the OTA KK upgrade I rooted with IORoot25. I don't think I've done anything other than root, however I have somehow can create the mobile hot spot without permissions. Not sure if there was an .apk that was put on when I rooted or how I did it because it was over a year ago.
Ever since I rooted, my phone tries to push OTA updates but they are always unsuccessful. Every morning I have to hit "Install Later" becasue it tried over night and failed. Besides this being a bit annoying, I haven't been concerned becasue the only OTAs since I got 4.4.2 was supposedly some small patch that didn't really do much (from what I read). But, the other day it notified me that it wanted to push Lollipop and needless to say, I want it.
My problem: I don't know what the hell to do! Besides rooting, I'm pretty sure the only thing I've done is download Flashify and backup my stock recovery. Flashify doesn't show that I have a custom recovery, nor do I ever remember installing one. Just whatever came with the IORoot25. Oh, and it looks like I Quarantined LGSetupWizard using App Quarentine. Pretty sure that's it. So, where do I go from here?? I'm wanting to move to Lollipop, then possibly de-bloat it, and would like a custom recovery so that I can create nandroid backups and possibly start trying out other custom ROMs.
I had an OG Droid for years and would flash ROMs frequently until I upgraded to a RAZR MAXX. Once I got the MAXX, and now the LG, all I've really done is root and hack the wifi, so I'm REALLY out of the loop now! Everything seems so complicated becasue there's just too much info out there. Could somebody please guide me in the right direction to make this as smooth as possible??
Thanks for reading and helping a NooB out. Ugh...can't believe I have to start calling myself that again!!
You could 'freeze' the update so it doesn't pop up every morning. IF you want to update- you can unroot it and then take the update and re-root it and fix the hotspot thing. I'm in the same boat, I'm about to do the same myself.

Thanks for the response. Hoe do I "freeze" the update? If I do decide to take the update and re-root, and especially if I start loading custom ROMs, I know I'm going to want to do this in the future. I've been getting theses OTA update notifications everyday for months now!!
Also, what's the easiest way to unroot?
AS long as you are running stock I believe you can accept the OTA without unrooting: I haven't done it yet as I haven't had a few free hours, but I'm going to try it tonight.
there are plenty of apps that allow you to freeze apps- titanium Backup Pro is one that comes to mind.

Noob needs help with XT1096 on Verizon network w/ TWRP and keeps getting OTA prompt

Since there are not too many stable ROMs available on the XT1096 that support CDMA (I am using Verizon's network). I decided I would unlock my bootloader, flash TWRP and root the stock firmware. Well, the past few days I guess I did not update my phone all the way before doing this since I just got it not even a week ago and keep getting prompts to install an OTA. This will obviously not work with TWRP and when I flashed TWRP I selected to modify the system so the stock firmware would not rewrite recovery on boot. This has become a complete pain in the ass for me. Accidently I selected to install the OTA since it is always in my notifications and when it happened it would obviously fail in TWRP but then it would boot back into the ROM and then power cycle back into TWRP. The only way to stop it was to do a factory reset which is not what I would like to do every time I accidently select to install this OTA. So my questions to you awesome people who know more about this device are. 1. is there a way I can enable the to option to where I will always have a stock recovery and then I can just fastboot boot into TWRP if needed? Or is there another way where I can just possibly stop this OTA all together even though the prompt already says it's downloaded and waiting for me to hit install. Like can I just go into rootexplorrer and delete or modify a few system files that'll stop the phone for looking for OTAs? I don't reallyl care about the OTA since it's obviously not 6.0 since VZW got boned on that one. Looks like it's just some security patches.
I'm sure this is probably a really stupid and simple question, so I apologize in advance. But thank you SO MUCH to anyone who decides to help me out. I will appreciate it GREATLY!!!

Try using your favorite applications manager for root and freeze MotorolaOTA. This will prevent the update from being downloaded and you won't get messages about installing the OTA update.
