Note 4 - 910F - BTU N910FXXU1ANK4 - Galaxy Note 4 General

Here is a mirror for the BTU NK4 firmware using a faster host than those supplied on Sammobile or Samsung-Updates.
PDA: N910FXXU1ANK4
CSC: N910FBTU1ANK2
MODEM: N910FXXU1ANK4
CHANGELIST: 3311829
BUILD DATE: 17.11.2014
Download here: BTU-N910FXXU1ANK4
On a side note, I think we could do with a community based repository of stock firmware, If someone downloads a firmware update, they upload it to a faster host and posts the link for everyone else kind of thing, if anyone else thinks the same too, let me know and I'll update this thread with other firmware and change It's title to reflect this.

LOL who cares about the N910F ---> Come on N910W8 !!!
No update on ANK4/5 for it yet

runs quite abit quicker running on ART to my eyes. very smooth.

Got the OTA today. Recent button reacts faster, signal has definitely improved and so has the SOT, at least for me. Usually I get 4 hours, but it looks as though after the update I'll hit 5.

THANK YOU @RavenY2K3 for posting the fast link.
I have the Vodafone GN4 with ANJ4 and my Antutu score is 47577 on a clean install. Using the BTU ANK4 I'm getting 36008 and 44179 with ART. Anyone else getting similar scores? It seems that the Vodafone build is much more optimised and is noticeably faster.

Does anyone know where I can get the full Vodafone ROM for N910FXXU1ANK4? The ANJ4 version on SamMobile is not the UK one. It seems to be the Slovenian CSC version. It is still faster than the ANK4 BTU one so i'm keeping it for the time being.

No worries, I'll use this thread to keep all the latest BTU firmware on a faster host, but if others want to help out, they can do by uploading a file to there respective account and sharing the link.
It'll be a lot easier on everyone if we can download the files from a reliable source and not have to wait 15 hours for the damn things to come down.

I tested German ANK4 and Israel ANK5 but BTU ANK4 is the smoothest one. I am on ART and it seems that SwiftKey barely lags on Hangouts with BTU. Also battery seems the best from the rest of the firmwares.

Thanks.

New Firmware XWKI2

Sampro has uploaded a new firmware for us to play with:
GT-P7500_XSE_P7500XWKI2_P7500OLBKH1_P7500XXKI1
go get it here:http://sampro.pl/firmware/android/samsung-p7500/
And this is not my work and no credit is mine for this just posting my findings, the credit goes to Sampro.pl
Edit: still Android 3.1 Password: sampro.pl
Installed and booted fine, still rootable with old method.
build prop says its built Fri Sep 9 14:25:40
No carrier apps or other **** apps gets installed just samsung apps
too bad its for 7500. lol.
No one else tried this? Would be nice with someone elses findings from this firmware.
I dont think its as smooth as KI1, it feels fast but not as fluid as KI1. At first install i wiped everything with CWM and flashed the new firmware. And it was not as smooth as i expected. So i wiped my device clean once again(Factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik, formated system, data and cache and flashed in Odin with repartion checked. That has always helped in KI1 but still with KI2 i find it a litttle studdering. Will test some more and report back later.
Thanks for giving the review .. I would love to hear the updates from you nick
I am using KI1 now .. Honestly I dont see any reason to upgrade to KI2 since I assume the code is different due to different region release .. So hopefully you can change my mind
Built date is 9th of Sep and as I recall KI1 is somewhere close?

yep, it was 7th Sep on KI1. And i really dont like KI2 but i could be that i forgot the standard of stock rom , but as ii remember KI1 gave a much better experience. Maybe it needs some dev love and maybe then it will overshine KI1 but as of now i will go back to KI1 based rom. But dont let that stop you guys from trying this because it could be it just dont fit my device and overall it feels fast it just not smooth.
What languages in XWKI2? Thanks.

NF1 is out for Tizen (Original ROM was NE9)

It's for Romania (ROM) but I think all the regional ROM's are the same. Romania was one of the first regions pushed when the Tizen update was first launced. I installed it over XAC (Canada) and my Gear just updated; I didn't lose anything and didn't have to reset/recover. I've gone through it and have found anything different on it or in relation to Gear Manager. But I wasn't having any issues to begin with. It's still on Tizen 2.2.1.1 which is interesting since the Gear 2's are starting to move to 2.2.1.2. Anyone else find anything different between NE9<>NF1?
Here's the link from Samsung-updates...
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-V700
Been playing around with this new build and the only thing I can see different is that kies has a problem with it, Tried the usual re-flash reset etc and still same error message?
Odin dosen't seem to be pushing the ROM's region file (ROM/BTU) for some reason?
Update: flashed back to BTU NE9 and kies now showing OK...

It's really odd that some people have issues and others don't when we're all on the same h/w and doing the same things (EG: Odin, Kies). My "official" CSC is XAR (US) and I was using BTU on Android. When I moved to Tizen I used BTU initially and then changed over to Canada (XAC). When Romania NF1 came out I just Odin'd over XAC. I had no problems with the update and have no problems with Kies.
I see your screen dump said the same as mine while testing it, i.e. "your devices current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via kies"
I was kinda hoping multi-watch may have shown with this new build, but watch styler is also good but eats my battery alive!!
Thanks again for the heads up on this release.

That's what it says when the CSC and ROM region are mismatched on any Samsung device. I'm running Romania on a U.S. Gear.
Do you know how to change the CSC region settings on the gear, maybe an extra file to flash with ROM?

I guess as watch styler has now appeared on sammy apps won't be long before multi-watch makes an apperance.
Thanks anyway.

Also can we root this new firmware? The old root image changes it back to ne9 (obviously).

hi all, downloaded and flashed(PHN)[Holland]
Just received the update OTA on my phone (Note 2) for my Canadian Tizen Gear....The changelog said something about improvements to the interface....I see no material difference except that a Golf Nav app for $30 now shows up in my Samsung apps...
LOL.... I did notice one massive difference today...My Gear drained from 100% to 0 in under eight hours today...I guess you have to wipe in recovery after the update just like when we used ODIN to flash TIZEN...
I'll do that after it charges back up and hope that tomorrow is better..

[Q] Upgrading S4 Active I9295 to 4.4 Kitkat

First of all, hi.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active I9295 with android 4.2.2 and I've seen on internet that 4.4 is out, but not for all devices.
I didn't received any notification through wi-fi, i checked for updates even using kies but no result.
I just want to ask.. can I update using another 4.4 version ? (from nordic countries or germany or etc).. without carrier-locking my phone ?
Do you recommend me any official 4.4. rom that would be compatible with my phone ?
And, not at least, are there any improvements in battery on Kit Kat ? (that's the reason I want to update, my battery sucks).
Right now I have baseband I9295XXUBML3; VERSION NUMBER JDQ39.I9295XXUBML3, KERNEL VERSION [email protected] #1.
Please answer as soon as possible.

It is safe to flash any other i9295 firmware. When the firmware for your country is released you can just reflash.
I'm still not sure.. are there any reasons to take the risk ?
I've seen a lot of people complaining about wi-fi and having to flash modem separately.. and so on.
So, it is 100% safe ? and are there any improvements which deserve the risk ?i
Hi,
i got this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2764500
works like a charm, for me.
I'm still on 4.2.2 as well as there has been no official update for me yet. Yay for Eastern Europe.
From what I've heard 4.4 should handle the battery a little better and microSD cards a lot worse. Apparendly Android 5 (Lollipop?) will fix the SD card trouble, look a lot more like Ubuntu Touch (rumoured Q4 2013 :silly: ) and will only take a few months until it is out (rumoured Q4 2014). So you can flash twice or wait and flash once. It depends on how you use your phone, though I doubt S4A will be getting Android 5 as an official Samsung update.
The flashing guides are good enough to minimize the risk either way.
Official OTA came for this firmware.. Kies didn't find any update btw.
I'll come with an edit or something else after it finishes.
// So far so good.
Everything works like a charm, battery looks promising, can't tell until a full charge.
Love white battery indicator.
Not big modifications btw, i'd have loved if they put S5 UI...
i have a device with basically the exact kernel, baseband version and build number, but i have no OTA update, and kies don't find any update, any idea why ?
baseband > I9295XXUBML3
kernel > 3.4.0-2015525 [email protected]#1
build > JDQ39.I9295XXUBML3

No. The firmwares ate optimized for specific regions, but they do not lock you in to a carrier. The major difference between the different versions will be the modems and the APN settings, so you may find that you get better signal with one version as opposed to another.
Hopefully somebody else can chime in and share their experience.
I want to download an update i saw on the sam mobile website.
So i can download and install any official firmware for i9295 on my phone, regardless the baseband, version number, etc? Right?!
My current carrier will still be working right?

The new lollipop is really beautiful and its aorth the upgrade. Everythings work perfectly. But I notice that its a bit lag sometimes and I can deal with it. So far, very satisfied. Try it and you will surely fall in love with it. The new statusbar also make me hooked. Now waiting for rom and kernel based on lollipop, hopefully can improve the performance of this Tab S.
