Hi, some couple of days, i update my razr i to kitkat, rooted with recovery...very fast and smooth, no problem at all...but when i listen music in the app Google Music ( with earphones) its sound pretty LOW...someone know how i can boost the volume music???
i searched a mod of sony walkman of xperia z2 for all android: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2730431
to increase the sound of music, but i cannot made it work...i have the xperia z2 launcher..
anyone want to try it? or knows a mod/app that it can boost the sound of music???
Same problem here, I have no idea how to fix it...
Yep, unfortunately....
I've reported that before, the KK audio sucks guys
I think might be a kernel issue... BTW there's no "final" version yet.

ups :C., sorry bro...recently i found a mod that boost the volume of music...only u have need to be root
install the apk, grant permission of root, reboot and change the music effects (configuration-sound-music effects) and choose the apk installed

Yeah thanks
But, actually the real trouble for me are the "hissing noises", like i said before.
Some build.prop edits are helping a little, i'll try the ViPER4Android but i'm not sure if he will work.

Hi there,
have somebody tried the DSP SoundManager? I extracted this one from the CyanogenMod ROM and get a little bit better sound...
May you want to try it! Maybe there is a forward developed version of this, so please post it!
Regards, Andi
I can't notice any difference. I had the speaker on hi then installed it pumped up the settings and it made no difference.

Same here ..
I'm new here and with no experience, but maybe we need rooted device to work?! It would be nice to hear navigation while driving..
I have a rooted device. But I don't hear any difference.
Moved to Themes and Apps
Cheers,
M_T_M
no way
Downloaded and installed no difference at all.
What I have to understand is why POWERAMP with its settings (equalizer set to loud speaker value) has a far better volume than the stock music player.
If we can get its way to do that an app like the one in this thread may work.
May be poweramp just modifies in realtime the mp3 values I don't know really we need to investigate.
Youtube for example has a very poor volume altough the copilot using SVOX TTS voices (with SVOX volume at 200) is good enough.
I think is just the kernel I don't understand why the quality is so bad with some features and so good with others....
hmm i just watched a video from htc. and the introduce a feature that the device recognize where it is, for example in your pocket or backpack and if you get a call it will raise the speaker volume...
but i dont know if its just to the maximum which probalby everybody has set or if you can go over this limit...
Here is working version of DSP manager.
its a start, but i think this workaround creates some other problems... for my self, i just increased the volume of my ringtone and it worked as well.
hopefully this dspmanager workaround gets updatet or even htc will take care of it...
Hello ! As you all know Sound quality has been terrible on our Z1 since Lollipop came out and Sony has done nothing to fix it so now i have gotten enough and i wanna do something about it myself. I have been reading lots about sound mods and have been comparing them with others but i cant seem to find good one to fit my purposes so i decided to ask here. Im not looking for stereo mod or anything speaker related or like that, i just wanna get the true power what it is capable to produce to my headset like on KK and to be able to adjust the equalization and bass etc like we used to before Walkm... i mean Music app sound enchantments stopped working.. i have XPhonePlus Module from XPosed to enable old audio modes but its currently broken or something since doesnt work...
So basicly im looking for audio mod that:
- Brings back the volume that we had in KK. (In LP its much lower volume.)
- Makes equalization working again. (After LP, had never worked, not in Music beta or the not beta one)
- Makes surround work again (--||--)
- As good bass without losing quality as possible
- Being able to keep the sound enchantments in other apps too not just music app
- Works on stock rom
- As stable as possible, im not really good updater.
- Needs to be able to change settings on the fly. (on LP sometimes equalizer settings take effect on reboot)
I know all my requirements arent necessary possible but just something that way !
I have Bluetooth headset and wired one and i use both so it needs to work on both. i listen mostly electronic so extra bass related mod is never a minus. Im not looking to change music app since i like it so that is not an option.
Im taking suggestions and im gonna pick the best one based on popularity and comments so please share your favourite mod here an i will check it out !
Also im a noobie so i might need instructions i have root ofc and nuts recovery and xposed. im on .270 5.0.2 LP
@migidid
I'm gonna try to answer :3
1. Edit your mixer_paths.xml, need root, there is also many guide in XDA
2. Equalizer works correctly, I don't know why you have such problem xD
3. Surround works too, but only when using headset/headphone.
4. This need headset/headphone with nice sound range too, you can +bass from stock Equalizer, I'm used Poweramp and Poweramp equalizer + Sony equalizer
5. Sony Sound Effect have a global effect for your speaker and also from another sound media too, but I don't know about surround effects (didn't try this so much) xD
EDIT: It's works on Poweramp, just tested it :3
EDIT2: It's not working on Poweramp, it's "blank" sound, sorry xD
EDIT3: Got a fix, must disable Direct Volume Control and enable MusicFX and you will get Surround Sound effect xD
6. I'm on Sony stock L ROM build .270, rooted
7. Nothing bads, if you know what are you doing xD
8. Sony Equalizer no need reboot to take effect, it's immediate :3
I don't like use Viper or another Sound Mod like that, it's useless (for me), since Sony already have in build Sound Effect. I'm only used nice headphone (not high res), modified mixer_paths.xml and Poweramp. :3
Hi everyone, is there a way to install the Xperia SoundEnhancements like Xloud, Clearaudio+ and other thingies like 'Download Music info, edit music, throw, ...)
I know you can download the port of ibanez for walkman, but I already have Music installed Any help?
I use these mods on several lollipoproms
Xtrememusic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3029951
Megabassbeats: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1945535

Hi all!
Are you satisfied with the sound quality on your Moto X? Especially when listening music with headsets.
Do you use any sound mods?
Want to share my thoughts about sound quality. On 5.1 sound is better then on 4.4.4. In both used PowerAmp.
Actually I don't like the quality of the sound on 4.4.4. Can you recommend any sound mod working on our loved Moto X?

You've some issues with your moto x or dunno....
The sound quality is terrible on LP due to the bugged sound module used, use external sound monitor and you'll find it for yourself.
On 4.4.4 In using the Walkman port with their own sound announcements and I find it to be the greatest out there ( to me that is )
I can't live without Viper4Android on any phone I have, because I like to customize all the settings depending on what headphones I am using. And it makes the music sound beautifully well...

I'd tried V4A and can't install the sound driver or whatever they call it. It's just won't work for me...
Ok, I gave a try to V4A again and it works for me! Just set it to compatible mode.

Mine works fine on normal mode on LP.
Use SELinuxModeChanger and change from Enforcing to Permissive.
I understand that this soundmod do not work unless SELinux is in Permissive mode. Let me know if you need this apk.

I love my moto for listening to music. I use V4A too and can't imagine a live without it. The Moto X can play very loud too. I use headphones with 120 Ohm and don't need any external amping at all.

Did you installed BusyBox ?
I guess V4A also requires busybox.
This is what i did:-
1) Installed busybox from playstore.
2) Changed the SeLinux Mode form Enforcing to permissive.
3) Flashed V4A zip.
worked like charm.
I am on Ressurection Remix ROM but i guess this should work for Stock ROM too.
ok, guys.
I reflashed the 4.4.4 and tried Walkman port from there [PORT][4.1+][Update 2015/04/09] SONY WALKMAN™ | The Best Clear Audio Experience. I could say that version 3.1 worked for me. Version 3.5 fc's on start.
I didn't try to use V4A, so I can,t prove it works or not.
P.S. Make sure to have root and busybox installed. I didn't set Selinux mode to permissive, it works anyway
[JB_4.3-KK_4.4]_WALKMAN™_v5.1_CM10.2_CM11_by_ibanez7-signed.zip
This is the one Walkman port I use, it's not new but it works rather well, also you can update the walkman app itself if you wish. There is a initd script that you flash too for better output, which really changes only few things, that might not even be felt by a human, but either way, flash that too imo.

ok, thank you. I will give it a try later.
Im having trouble with the Dolby app, when I active dolby the sond decreases about 15-20% and with headphones you can change the EQ 3notches.
It also changes the default EQ in Google music for example to the Dolby version were you cant increase the bass in the EQ. Is the some workaround for this? Or does anyone else experience the same thing?

Switch off volume leveller if on. In my case with the option on it lowered Bluetooth audio streaming considerably...
I personally installed ViPER4Android and totally switched off Dolby, since I find V4A much more enhanced and can be fine tuned to one's liking. Problem is that while streaming through Bluetooth, it's really inconsistent and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But if you're mainly using a wired headset, I suggest you give it a go...
Yes I understand, but I just got it dosen't jag want to root it yet! Viper is one of the best things along with xposed to Android(vanilla of course) but I hope someone can remove the restrictions for headphones in the Dolby app, if I coymuld I would. Best reegards Pierre Gothenburg Sweden det

Dolby itself is not the problem but did you attempt to turn off volume leveling or not?
xposed is nice but there are much better options out there. To my knowledge xposed still reverts art back to dalvik and decreases performance quite considerably imo.
You can either try volume boosting apps on the play store or you have to root. If rooted you can either use Viper, or modify system file (mixer something xml - I forgot the name of the file) to boost the volume.
Just because the device is new doesn't really factor in to if you should root or not, imo, unless the root solution is not stable which is not the case here. You can always unroot later and if for some reason you reach a point where you can't uninstal root, you can attempt to send the device back to Moto and hope you get a replacement.

If by "it complains" you mean the warning you get when you raise the volume too much, it's there on purpose to avoid damage to your ears. If I'm not mistaken, the only way to disable that is through root and xposed...

NO I mean that its a restriction in hos much you can change The EQ, it says Sue to security you cant raise the EQ more Ryan 3db,and I know that dB is sund, but The volume is way luder and you can smide The bass slider to max without headphones. I use a-jays 5.

All restrictions are to avoid damage to your ears, that's why you can change things to higher values on speakers but not on headphones... You would have to root to have full control over this.

You can do several things with and without root:
No root: disable headset limitations guide - https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.**********.com/disable-safe-volume-warning-no-root-required/amp/
With root: Install V4A app and set it up to your liking, or don't and just use Dolby but disable limitations with an xposed module. You can find several guides on XDA or through Google.
As for V4A working with Art or Dalvik, I'm no expert and don't understand what difference this may make regarding audio quality, but I can tell you V4A works perfectly fine with a headset on my G6+, as well as on several of my other older devices, too. Only issue is Bluetooth streaming which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, depending on which audio device you're connecting to, but I can live with that...

Thanks for your time and knowledge, I couldn't find a good way to bypass this exept disabling it! I fond another EQ and cant say that I hear ny difference. Maybe in The movie mod, but I'll finetune it so you cant hear any difference.
