Hi Team
I am looking for capacitive wake gesture kernel for my Sprint HTC M7.
Guys I tried installing ElementalX-sprint-m7-13.1 but the phone kept on rebooting post successful installation.
I tried changing the frequency and stuff but to no outcome.
I am attaching the software information screenshot of my phone.
Please please please help me. Consider me as a rookie and provide the complete procedure wherever possible.
Thanks

Hey there,
Looks like you're running a 4.4.2 ROM. Have you tried using a 4.4.3 ROM? I have no idea if 13.1 works with sense 6 4.4.2. Also, your kernel version doesn't have "ElementalX-13.10" in it, which is concerning.
I'm running a 4.4.3 ROM with EX 18.0 with no problems.
Enabling wake gestures can be done in the aroma installer, which I'm sure you've encountered.
Please guide

Thanks Sauprankul.
I don't think Sprint has released 4.4.3 for M7 yet. Meanwhile what do you mean by "Also, your kernel version doesn't have "ElementalX-13.10" in it, which is concerning."
Should I go for ElementalX-m7-14.12-Sense as shown in the screenshot? Would my phone with the specifications support it?

Bro looks like you're downloading from the m7ul site.
You need something that specifically says "sprint" or "m7spr" in it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2295596
Download 13.1 from here. I would recommend never downloading anything from anywhere unless an XDA thread in the Sprint forum directly linked you to it, because flashing something for an intl device can brick your phone.
Also you're right about the sprint not releasing 4.4.3 thing, but the international port is available.
Please help

Hi Sauprankul
The link you gave has the same kernel version I downloaded the first time - ElementalX-m7-Sprint-13.10. It doesn't work.
Maybe there is something else I need to do.

See, the problem is, I honestly don't know which ROM goes with which kernel. I would suggest that you upgrade to a 4.4.3 stock ROM and get the latest EX 18 kernel from the xda thread, because I know that combination works. Sorry, mate, but that's the best advice I can offer.
Elemental X 14.12 and Sense 6 Toolbox, if you're running a 4.4.2. rom. The combination of the two will work. (make sure you enable wake gestures in Sense 6 Toolbox) I did it for a while, but gave it up as it ate at my battery life more than I liked.

Has anyone had success flashing Android Revolution for the new HTC ONE M8 but it never reboots. Just jumps back to the fastboot.
It allows me to install my back up but according to the Rom, it is good for all M8's including Sprint but no such luck for me,
The install went perfect save Aroma frustration but I got thru that a couple of times , the message said it was successful but would never reboot.
Even tried to install SuperSU that I am already using but still no luck.
Anyway,
If any Sprint users have any tips, please let me know.
Thanks for your time!

Don't flash ROMs not meant for your phone. You could bork it. To my knowledge, the mount points are not the same and it's a risk flashing. Without an RUU yet, you could potentially be in some trouble if things don't go well

Thank you! I did tweet with Mike1986 when I first had trouble, I did say I was trying on Sprint since it said '" All M8 Models in his post and he did not say it was not Sprint Compatible so I assumed it was. All he asked was if I had Sprint boot.img on my phone. I am not sure what that meant and after searching the net and XDA, still don't know and said I would try other sources for help.
It does seem not seem to work on Sprint, I am almost positive I followed all of the steps, unless there is something completely different from M7 Flashing that I am not aware of. Rooting worked like a charm but as I said before, and thank fully so, after flashing, the phone reboots right back to the fastboot.
It does give you a scare at first as it goes completely dead for a few minutes but then finally shows up in Fastboot and can be wiped and the backup can be applied.
I'll keep looking around for info!
Well, enough said for sure.
Thanks all for your input!

sorry if i sounded harsh and or like a *****, but you have to read thru a thread before flashing any rom, example is like on badseed rom, i'm pretty sure the ack button doesnt work and i found that out by reading the thread, you risk bricking ur fone by blindly flashing :-/

I completely understand, although I read thru that Rom page at least 4 times before flashing and found no indication it was an International Version or as mike1986 usually says, " apart from Sprint" . Even after I spoke with mike1986, still no indication this would not work on Sprint. Hopefully others will find this thread before trying although I had really no trouble recovering from it. Lucky for that I guess. Anyway, thank you for your input as well. Have a great rest of your day!
hi,
i also tried flashing ARHD with my sprint m8. both v22 and 22.1, i also get a black screen, if i reboot, it goes straight to the bootloader.
i too, thought it would work since it says all variants, and was not specified that SPRINT is not supported. i even asked, and somebody answered that it is.
even anybody had success installing ARHD on a sprint m8, please share what you did to make it work
thanks
Compatibility is only available through 4.4.3 base or 11.X. 4.4.4 hasn't been built for Verizon or sprint yet, it's possible to boot at 4.4.4 but you'll get no signal

Yeah still availible via downloads and I've tested the 4.4.4 doesn't get signal even with compatible kernel
hi could you please post the link for 4.4.3? i couldnt find it in the downloads page, just ARHD 22.1 which is 4.4.4
thanks

Hi everyone sorry if this question has already been answered,
So I have a HTC One M7 and I want to install stock android or sense 6 (to remove my carrier boot and pre-loaded crapware), I still haven't decided because I'm unsure of some things. First of all if I do install stock android or sense 6 will I still be able to update to the latest version of android or sense 6 from the rom or do i need to periodically flash my rom to the latest version?
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for One M7.

If you choose a custom rom that have ota update support then its possible to use OTA to update your custom rom. Some other custom rom will require to flash the new version from a custom recovery to update it.
i.e Cyanogenmod can be update from ota updates.
you wont be able to use official ota update from HTC unless you revert everything back to stock which isnt really important if you want to use custom roms.

ota = over the air. ota update is when the update is pushed directly to your phone and you get a notification that there is a new update to install (like on official HTC roms or on custom roms that support that feature)
WHen there is no ota update capability, you won't be notified of new versions automatically and you'll need to flash the updated rom using a custom recovery.

The phone doesnt detect SIM. I'm in Nigeria where i cant find the sprint carrier network shop or oulet. Can anyone please help me out? i've tried using sim unlock helper by viper boy, still it doesnt work, maybe because there's no imei/baseband. I've also tried other OS including custom roms none works, the phone bricks (showing a white screen with htc written and then reboots on its own). The phone has been down since october 2017 till date still working on it but nothing positive comes out.

You probably flashed a GSM rom to the device.
You should mostly be looking in the Sprint m7 forum for appropriate roms and specific help with that model of the m7.

I haven't tried since the 20151130 build, but was experiencing some WIFI connection issues then. (no longer have data service on this device so I can't comment on that) It's been a couple of weeks now so the issue is probably resolved. Other than that it was OK, but I'm waiting for the official drop.

Thanks for the feedback will give a try when my M8 arrieves.
I don't think that CM13 is for the Sprint M8. It's for the international M8. Any ROM for the Sprint M8 would have the code M8_WHL.
The way I understood it (I'm new to HTC so I could be wrong)
We were just to install the official cm HTC one 2014 ( m8 )? Am I wrong? I saw the m7 had carrier dependent builds. But the m8 didn't seem to.
At least from what the m8's page on cm's website says, their m8 roms are supposed to work on any variant. That being said, I tried a CM13 nightly a week or two ago and it seemed like everything worked but data, although that could've been because I'm on Ting. I say give it a shot, couldn't hurt.

From the way I understand it. It will install s-on.
If I'm correct s-on protects things like radios and such from being flashed.

Anyone having SD read card issue on CM13?
Seems that trying cm13 is a bad idea? I really don't want try pay the "will my GPS or data work today?" game.
My WiFi ended up being a router issue, to an extent.
CM13, when flashed, changed my MAC address. I then had to go into my router and change the MAC address associated with my phone to allow it on my network.
Weird stuff there.
