Can someone post the Motorola Dialer APK? - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please? I was trying to get google dialer working and in the process accidentally deleted the stock one, and now I don't have a working dialer.

KitKat or Lollipop?

Lolipop please

I don't have it for Lollipop but I'll nag my friend for you.
@ewalk4866- help this guy out!

Yep, it's kinda tricky when there's no ROM or factory image to pull it from. No worries, my buddy is gonna post it for you shortly.

sorry guys im not rooted but what you can do is take the rom from the nand backup thread and us the app Nandroid Manager and us that to remove the dialer app from the backup. Thats the only way I know of to help you. Hope that helps

Alright, I downloaded the nandroid and put the dialer in system/priv-app. But even after setting all permissions and everything it still refuses to work. I get a force close error. This is driving me crazy!!!

Yeah, it shows up in the launcher but its force closing.
Not sure, but maybe its cause the nandroid was on a different version?

I dunno, I'd think it would work regardless of the version, as long as it's the lollipop one. Have you tried clearing data for the dialer?

Yeah. Its wierd. All permissions are right and everything. I tried clearing the data. I might just install the entire backup as that has to make it work. I never would of dreamed of having this big an issue with a simple thing on my old nexus 5 haha.

Yeah well the N5 is a completely different animal. There are a couple system images over in development, just grab one and dirty flash it. You should be good to go then without losing any of your data.

This may not be for you...
This ROM is for someone...
Who wants to tinker and build there own personal ROM from the stock base.
Another developer that may not have the ability to get a stock base (Like me, I only have the AT&T phone)
When you hose your phone trying to "modify" things because you "read it on the internet" somewhere you can then use this ROM to get your anus out of trouble.
You flash someone else ROM and realize its not what you were expecting, you didn't make nandroid back up, and your rebooting every time you try to make a phone call. This ROM would come in real handy
You see where I am going with this?

Dude, tell me about it!
Do you know how long it takes to upload this isht?
I had to TeamView into jparista's PC, dump his phone, build the ROM, then upload it all using his internet connection because he has twice the upload speed I did.
I would still be uploading now!
you say must be on latest OTA, what happens if we flash this on non OTA?
Scott,
In the OP you say we need to be on the latest OTA?
I had flashed TWRP and have not been able to get the OTA.
I was surprised when I read we needed to be on the latest OTA to flash your ROM.
I have been holding off getting the OTA because I figured I would just flash a ROM to get the on the latest OTA is there a reason we need to be on it to flash your ROM?
Do you happen to have a Stock Recovery IMG and I get in order to get the OTA if I am going to need the OTA I will have to get it through stock recovery

Because its built from the OTA and I didn't include a boot image. I don't have the phone so I didn't want to risk bricking someone else's trying to flash a boot image.
In all reality it will prolly be 100% fine on the non OTA but I cannot say for sure... Havent tried it.
So nandroid, flash and report results and all questions will be answered.

[REQUEST] Moto X Launcher APK

Hello, guys! I was wondering if someone could send me the APK file of the Android Launcher used on Moto X and Moto G (2013 Versions!). I usually use Launcher2 but I would really like to have the transparent status bar. I know the two launchers are actually the same and that I could set the transparent bar with root permissions on Launcher2 but I would really like to have it Without root permissions. I noticed that several people have been asking about it in other forums but I never managed to find what I was actually searching.
Can someone realize my little desire? Thanks!

You can't alter system apps without root. And that's what the stock launcher is. If it won't just click and install, I doubt there is anything you can do.
Maybe I'm wrong and someone can correct me, but that's my understanding.

^ This is correct. Launcher2 is a system app that requires root to modify. If you're trying to install another Launcher2 on top of it, you'll get an error.

Need TWRP backup of Cricket Stock ROM

I was an idiot when I flashed a custom rom and didn't do a backup first. After the custom rom was flashed and working fine, I discovered that the fm radio was missing. The main reason I bought this phone was it was cheap and had a real fm radio. Would someone please help an idiot out by uploading a stock cricket rom so I can have my fm radio back? Please?
Internet radios aren't suitable for my needs, so this is a big bummer for me.
Thanks
Keith
Bump. Please
Try this. Make sure you have "unknown sources" checked in /settings/developer options.
If you don't have developer options enabled in settings, let me know and I'll tell you how to enable it.
Thanks Huggs. I installed that and it first told me I needed to plug in headphones, which gave me hope. I did, and then the app said there was a problem with the radio hardware, please try again. I have tried several times, even after a reboot, and no joy.

Same here, was not in the game of flashing roms for too long, that I just wiped out the whole internal sd card without making any backup... my head just zoned out at that moment i guess...
now i'm sitting on TWRP interface, without knowing how to boot to twrp from power-off state... (i adb rebooted into recovery in the first place, if you were gonna ask me how i got to twrp)...
so hopefully someone posts a nanodroid backup the the original/working cricket stock rom and that'll help me fight on another day
