Resetting private mode password - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having trouble resetting the password on private mode. I'm entering the right password, but it's giving me errors. I'm not rooted. Anyone in here knows how to fix this?

I'd be tempted to Odin the stock firmware.
You could also try a factory reset.

That's like my last result. Is to do the factory reset. I'd Odin also if I kept the phone.

Well, you could boot into stock recovery and try clearing your cache.

Thanks for the advice. Since no one has a answer. Imma go with your advice @AnDrOiD_MoNsTeR. Thanks again!

I wanted to check how to change a new password for Samsung Noted 4?

[Q] help! . wipe data/factore reset require password

forget the password of the device and want to do hard rest ...but in the CWM ask for password after selection the wipe data/factory reset and selecting yes .
what can i do without installing new rom?
I'm not sure if this still holds true, but on the ROM itself, not CWM, I've heard that entering the password incorrectly enough times will prompt for a device reset.
Worst case, you can pop it in to download mode, flash something else, or your current ROM with Odin, then go back to whatever you like after.

Sprint SPH-P100 Boot Problem

Here is what I do know;
Sprint Galaxy Tab SPH-P100
Gingerbread
Boots as far as to display Samsung logo, then Sprint animation, then Samsung animation repeatedly.
Was said to be working fine until this just happened. No flashing or modding attempted.
I am not familiar with Android at all but, I am reading. As far as I can tell the Odin/Heimdall looks like my best option if I can get it in download mode from this thread;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17817287&postcount=2
Would this be correct?
Yes. The instruction looks good an it is for cdma sprint tab.
But before you follow that instruction, please try to do cache data wipe, and factory reset wipe on recovery mode (press power and volume up).
If you don't get any error message after doing the reset, try to reboot again before you continue flashing, sometimes doing reset solves the problem.
If you get some error message after the reset, you may need to do repartition by adding pit file along with flashing the rom.
Tyvm, I will give that a try tonight.
I have a Samsung Omnia II I8000L and this tab is way different from that. The help is appreciated.
Well, the reprogramming went just fine but, if the Tab is turned off completely, not in standby, then it goes back to the same problem it started with.
I think I may try to roll back to an earlier build. Managed to get EA24 Odin flash to try with.
No joy. All I manage to get is a great view of the Samsung and Sprint logos. To think I was so happy when I found this thing was soft bricked... :/
None of the recovery stuff has never worked either, all errors. Wipe cache, reset to factory... Nadda. Lots of "Failed to mount E:..." sort of stuff.
No idea where to go from here.

Sounds like a hardware problem. I had similar issues and had to send it to Samsung. Try repartitioning with the pit file and a full stock package. If that doesn't help its most likely hardware.

Issue with factory resetting

So I upgraded to Lollipop not too long ago and did a factory reset, and ever since then everything "Samsung Account" related does not work. Trying to add a Samsung account does absolutely nothing. It's like the button just doesn't work! Because of this, I wanted to reset my device again. However, upon clicking the Reset button, a little Samsung Account screen pops up for a split second and disappears, rendering the factory reset button useless. Furthermore, I'd use Kies to factory reset, but when my Note is plugged into the computer (using the cable it came with), it likes to randomly disconnect and reconnect to the computer, so I can't factory reset that way. Does anyone have ANY ideas as to what I can do that doesn't involve voiding my warranty? Thanks!

Your issue with not being able to do a factory reset may have a lot to do with the
"Reactivationg lock" option, you need to uncheck it before doing a factory data reset..
With the re-activation lock is checked I doubt you can do a factory data reset.
Once the phone has been reset, do the following:
Go to http://Sammobile.com and download the official stock N910T 5.0.1 Lollipop firmware for your phone.
Then use ODIN to flash the firmware, flashing the firmware will not void your warranty and your phone will
be in the exact same condition as when you purchased it.
Before you odin flash the firmware be sure to go into your phone's settings>security and make sure that the
"Reactivation lock" is not checked.
Also be sure you do a factory reset by going into settings>Backup and reset and do a "factory data reset"
before you ODIN flash the official firmware.
Good luck!

Thanks for your reply! However, I can't perform a factory reset by going to Settings>Backup and Reset, because the "factory data reset" button does absolutely nothing when I press it (besides launch something that says "Samsung Account" for literally a split second).

Have you UN-CHECKED the Reactivation lock before trying to do a factory data reset?
You need to do that first then reboot.. The reactivation lock is in settings>Security
Then do a factory data reset.
Good luck!

I just used the recovery to eventually reset because even with the reactivation lock unchecked it wasn't working. All is good now, thanks!

Just factory reset in recovery (twrp/phills'cwm) is not the same
same thing as doing the factory data reset in the phone itself.

How so? I thought it was the same, especially since I don't have a custom recovery. Everything seems to be working fine now too.

'Decrypt Storage' screen after unlocked bootloader + factory reset. Data corrupt.

So.. first of all, I want to say that I am a complete no0b when it comes to bootloader unlocking/rooting/etc... just putting that out there..
So I just unlocked the bootloader on my m7, and everything went fine, until I actually turned on my phone again...
The first thing that shows up is a screen that tells me to enter my password to decrypt my device, even though I have never encrypted it.
Any password entered results in a screen saying:
Decryption unsuccessful
The password you entered is correct, but unfortunately your data is corrupt.
To resume using your phone, you need to perform a factory reset. When you set up your phone after the reset, you'll have an opportunity to restore any data that was backed to your google account.
I have tried to factory reset my phone in recovery mode, however it just returns an error message saying that it cant mount /data, and only formats /cache.
When I restart, I get the same 'Decrypt Storage' screen as before...
Is there ANY way I can solve this?
I have absolutely no clue :/
As I said, i'm just a noob
I dont care about any lost data, I just want a usable phone :/
I think I just solved it!
Installed twrp, formatted, rebooted, and everything is chill!
Glad I solved that...
