So I installed a "new" recovery, TWRP 2.6.3.3, and I'm running Viperone 7.0.1 and ElementalX-m7. I'm currently S-On and in the process of trying to go s-off. I created a backup of this before I went to install any new roms. The issue I'm having is whenever I try installing another ROM such as MaximusHD or ARHD, the aroma installer installs the rom but right when it goes back to TWRP, the screen goes black and I have to hold down the power and down button to get back into the recovery. If I try booting it up, the phone just stays on the HTC logo and never boots into the new rom. If you could help me in what I'm doing wrong that would be awesome.
The reason I'm trying to download new roms is I'm trying to go s-off on my phone and convert it to a google play edition.
Thanks.
Bump?

Try to isolate the problem. Like restore your backup and just install the rom. See if it works. Then add the kernel after and see if it still works. Your phone might just not like one or the other. Make sure the kernel matches the android version you're installing, too.
Also remember to wipe your dalvik and cache. Try that first, actuall... .

hey guys Im a new to the whole rooting and flashing custom roms thing. I love my N1 and I figured it was time to start playing with it more then the usual out of the box customizations.
I rooted the phone using the one click root app:
(cant post the link since Im a new user)
and then installed the Rom Manager.
I then installed the ClockworkMod recovery like it says to do.
Then I performed a Backup of the Current Rom using the Rom Manager
then Downloaded CyanogenMod 6.0.0-RC2 along with the Google Apps add on.
once the download completed it says do you want to do a wipe and also asks option to back up current rom. I checked both boxes and the phone boots into recovery mode.
Now this is where Im confused on what to do. At first I wasnt sure it the Rom manager would auto load the new rom, so I let it sit for like 10 min and realized it wasnt doing anything. Then I pressed the power button and volume at this point it gives me 3 options ..
1) reboot
2) Wipe
3) load update.zip
First I did a reboot ... which did nothing but re boot the phone, then I applied the update.zip and it failed and then I went to the Cyanogen Mod wiki page
on there is said to: "Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset. "
so I did that and then tried to install the update.zip ... which failed ... and basically erased my phone like the noob I am
So can someone please help me and tell me what Im doing wrong? also I installed titanium back up this time around to back up my apps.
Sounds like ClockworkMod Recovery did not flash. Try flashing it again in Rom Manager.
Should have been posted in Q&A
Thank you. Ill try that.
Sorry for not posting in Q&A as i didnt know about it ... Im new here so please forgive me.
Might be Clockworkmod ROM Manager...
I had all sort of problems with 2.1.0.5 and can't use any of the backups I created with it (they just hang when I try to restore them).
Everything seems OK with 2.1.0.6 though...

I reflashed Clockworkmod and that fixed it ... it flash the CyanogenMod rom, but once I was on there the radio wouldnt work, to I went back in re flashed the recovery.

You had issues too? I couldn't restore any of my backups the other day as well.
Yeah, I was having random problems with my backups... took me a while to realize it was only my newer backups.
Finally worked out that it was the version of ROM Manager. Older versions work great, as does the latest...

CM requires the 4.06.00.12_7 radio. Go to settings - about and look at the baseband version, that is your radio version. Also keep in mind most ROM's will not setup your APN, you will have to do that manually. I thought CM did, but I have not used it in a while. I am addicted to Enomther's ROM.
Hi, I probably performed a lot of stupid steps on my HTC One but this is what I did so far and could use some help. I have currently used the HTC all in one tool by hasoon2000. I had Android Revolution 6.0 and was working perfectly fine but then decided to install Android Revolution 7.0. Unforunately, I guess Clockwork Recovery doesn't like aroma installer because it froze halfway through the installation. I turned the phone off but it proceeded to freeze 3 more times. Eventually it got stuck into a boot loop. Then because I could not do anything, I cleared the dalvik, cache, system, and data. I have erased the cache through fastboot and flashed a new boot.img of the old ROM. I am currently trying to install TrickDroid 5.1 on my phone but when I try to install TWRP recovery it will blink for a second then load back into bootloader. When I install either CW recovery or CW Touch, It works but the phone shuts down automatically into bootloader when I either attempt to factory reset, install zip from Rom, sideload Rom. Can anyone help me please? When I turn on the phone without going into boot lader it just stays on the htc logo, im assuming because there is not ROM installed right now.
hi mate post this on trickdroid thread someone there will help you out
First step is to make sure you don't use the touch screen while installing the rom. Use the volume keys and the power button to make selections. If that doesn't work, try a few other times. I had the same thing happen to me. If all else fails, try installing the maximus7 rom. That's the rom that installed for me without trouble and it'll at least get you a working phone until the other roms are fixed

All right I'll try to sideload the Maximus ROM. Some extra info, the cache won't mount at all.
Does anybody have any previous versions of CW recovery or TWRP i can flash onto my phone? I heard the newer recoverys aren't very compatible with aroma installer or the newer ROMs.

Always do 3 wipe, it should be eisier to pass the weired aroma installer frozen problem.
I know there are a million posts about this, but I have been through them all trying to follow the guidance because the problems seemed to be the same as others have faced, but I feel differently now....
I unlocked my HTC one, following the htc dev site.
I installed TWRP (I cannot for the life of me get CWM to load into reovery, it only reboots the phone...)
loaded the roms/Super SU onto the SD card.
I know my phone is rooted (or i should assume?) because SuperSU is requiring me to grant access to apps and such.
I flash the custom ROM to the phone, install the package following Revolutions steps. Complete installation, return to fastboot menu. Flash boot.img, clear cache and reboot phone....Phone goes to the HTC Quietly Brilliant screen, with the development message at the bottom and continues to reboot over and over and over from there.
What did I do wrong?
I know pretty much have a phone that wont work because even after restoring it, it is ina boot loop after it fully boots up and nothing is loading correctly. Is there any way to start this from scratch?
Notes:
I tried doing an ADB sideload of Revolution HD.
I do a factory wipe before i load any rom....
Edit:
I have tried multiple ROMS...all the same effect....
I also get the message after installing the ROM from TWRP that "your device is not rooted, swipe to install superSU" so sometimes i swipe it, sometimes i dont...either way same result.
Update #2:
I flashed a ROM called 42ONE....it ended up successfully booting past the HTC screen and is currently updating the android system...However, it will operate for about 2 minutes then the phone reboots like it was before when i tried to restore....what the heck?!?
There is no need to flash the boot.img in fastboot. Just flash the rom from twrp.

Download the rom again (might be a bad download), transfer to your sdcard, do a full wipe, and flash again. Something you flashed has created a conflict.
Edit: That's a Sprint ROM. Do you have a Sprint phone? If you've been flashing GSM roms, that's your problem there.

problem resolved so far. REflashed stock rom, relocked device. its working for now.
Hi,
I got my brother's old HTC One M7 and tried to flash the ROM.
I have experience with Samsung Devices so I figured it worked the same way.
I install cyanogenmod using their installer. It worked, but dreadfully slow (slower than the stock rom).
So I downloaded Android Revolution 53.0, put in the /Downloads folder and went into recover and tried to install from zip.
It appeared as if the installation went through, and now the phone is stuck on the HTC quietly brilliant screen.
I can go into HBOOT, FASTBOOT, RECOVERY.. But I can't seem to get past it.
Just went into recovery and see "No OS installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?"
Please help!
Thanks.
First question....what version recovery are you using

To revive this thread.
So, I was able to figure out the original problem or at least get around it.
For whatever reason Android Revolution HD wouldn't install despite trying to flash the ROM using TWRP or CWM recovery.
I was able to get CyanogenMod and LiquidSmooth to work without issues.
I later used a Nandroid backup of a Bell Mobility (CID BM____001) and return it to "stock" JB.
I'm trying to get KIT KAT on it, I get the OTA update notification, but after it initiates the installation, device reboots into my custom recovery.
So, I tried to flash the stock BM recovery, and BM Stock KitKat install starts, but then I get a teal and pink screen back to back and get stuck on the HTC / Beats screen.
Any help is appreciated.
OK, your first problem sounds like you didnt flash the Boot.img first through fastboot, before trying to install the ARHD Rom, extract it from the zip file you downloaded and flash it through fastboot, then flash the rom, I believe Sense Roms (ARHD) will not work on non sense rom boots like CyanogenMod.
Post 3 problem is you need to install the stock recovery first.
Thanks for the quick response.
I've gotten further than where I was about an hour ago.
I realized when I flashed the stock recovery for BM_001, it was an older version (mismatched my ROM).
I flashed the the stock recovery version of my stock ROM, and I was able to get KIT KAT.
Now, it's doing a 2nd OTA update to get SENSE 6.
Will post update as soon as it's done. Hopefully it's successful.
Hi,
Looking for some help from you guys if possible. I have have been flashing Android HD Roms by Mike1986 for some time now on my HTC One (M7). Last updated to HD-One_91.1 to upgrade to Lollipop. Experienced very poor battery performance so looked to flash back to an earlier Kitkat version. Instead of flashing a previous one, I thought i'd give the Google 6.1_GE a go and see what that was like.
Big problems. Phone kept getting stuck in boot loop - so eventually i decided to wipe the phone and start again. Now when I switch phone on It boots into the start screen for Goggle edition then reboots constantly.
As I wiped the patition, I do not have the option to reinstall even the Lolipop ROM.
My phone wont stay on long enough to copy another ROm over. so Im stuck with a pjone that keeps switiching off before I can do anything with it.
I use TWRP recovery but when i try Factory reset etc, same problem occurs.
How can I get another compatible ROM onto the phone or am I stuck with a knackered phone?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.

Your phone must be s-off to use this rom like said in the OP. Also said that your phone WILL bootloop if you flash it without having s-off.
Android Revolution HD 6.1
Google Edition
You need S-OFF, otherwise you'll experience boot-loop!
You can't use ART with deodexed custom ROM
You need TRWP 2.6.3.3 custom recovery!

Boot in recovery (twrp), push a rom to your phone using adb push, adb sideload or MTP (MTP only available on newer twrp versions) and then flash the rom.
