No, you must be rooted to install a VNC server, which is required to view your android screen on your PC.

That's a good question. Does Samsung use VNC, or do they have their own proprietary app?
Since Samsung produces their own custom ROM/system-image for their devices, they could bake-in a remote desktop app as a system app.

As you can tell from the title, I've been having a strange issue on my phone. Most of the time, when I download something via the default cm webbrowser, the files end up being downloaded as .txt files, when they're actually apks, mp3s etc.
Anyone else with this issue?
I mean, it's not a big deal, I can always change the extension manually, but it becomes a royal pain in the rear when you download multiple files and have to change them one by one...

Yes, the exact specs are in my signature...
It is a limitation of all stock Android browsers. The only one that allows you to download the apk file is firefox. Try it!

Hello, i'm searching something (app or anything else) that turn on the screen when i receive a notification on whatsapp. Only turn on the screen such as when you receive a message.
I've tried the whatsapp popup but it doesn't work very well and i also don't like it very much.

I think there was an app for it on stock. As far as I know it does not work on CM based ROMs. Try to google it.

Screencast is part of AOSP source code, so theorically should be available in all CM/CM-based ROMs

I believe that is the root check error. The remote play app checks for root every time you run it. I believe if you use the modded version of the remote play apk it will work. Delete to old one first.
Try one of these

System files should be edited, so, root is required.
Just wait for the upcoming OTA

Have you actually tested this? ADB often doesn't let you push to the system partition without root, I haven't tried this with the OP3 though. Another way to do it is using terminal in TWRP for example, you can use vi to edit the build.prop file. It's worth nothing though that this prevents you from installing OTA updates just like rooting would since you've now modified the system partition.
