Problem with Yellowish Screen, contrast theory

My theory is that HTC has sourced a different manufacturer for their LCD screens on the the TD,but the roms/driver (not sure which it is) they release have the same contrast values set for the old LCD's thus making the new LCDS, to look washed out.
The only way around this I can see is that HTC should fix these levels for the new LCD's in their rom's/drivers or someone with the skills to reverse engineer them and alter the values.
What made me think of this therory was that someone took a screen shot and altered the contrast in a paint app on the TD making it look vibrant and thus getting rid of the yellow tint and dull look, proving that the new display is capable of showing true blacks and not washed out greys..
Makes total sense to me..

Yes it's indeed possible to have good contrast & vibrant colors on the yellowish washed out lcd's, I use resco photoviewer all the time to adjust the photos / images to look great on the screen. If we only could adjust the contrast on the screen itself so it would look good troughout the whole ui would be amazing...

i read somwhere the phones manufactured in china are the ones whith nice white vibrant screen and the phones manufactured in taiwan have the yellow tint or is it the other way around!. mine was manufactured in taiwan or so the sticker says. it has a white display. i feel sorry for anyone who has a device with the yellow tint it looks horrible.

argh. Mine was in glorious white, until I sent my Diamond in to have the touch screen replaced. It's yellow now!

I think a majority of the Diamonds have the yellow tint displays, it's a new one (probably cheaper) HTC have started using...
I also believe the Touch HD are having the same yellowish displays, but with the higher resolution of course.
Actually they're pretty good displays but if compared to the whiteish ones they'll look bad of course.

I bought a European Diamond back in September 2008 with superb lcd quality. Now I got it replaced under warranty, but the new one has awful contrast, especially when you look at it from an angle (45 degrease or more), it’s just horrible.
I actually managed to talk to the technician who worked at my phone. He said that all phones manufactured in the beginning had the bright screens, but HTC switch to this, probably cheaper yellowish screen soon after, and all replacement screens he gets from HTC in England are this low quality version. He even shown me a new phone whit this same yellowish screen, so I don’t think is country specific.
I am going to send HTC technical support an email, but I am not getting my hopes high yet. Overall I am greatly disappointed in HTC quality products, as this is not my first big issue whit this phone. Five days after I’ve purchased it, the mother board died and the replacement one worked … one day until it died also.
So if you have the bright lcd version, think twice before replacing it. If I known this would happen, I would have stuck with the original one, even though it had some issues.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago,came from hong kong,and had russian cd and booklet's!!
Had official 2.03.456 rom WWE installed.
My screen has very white white's and black black's,great contrast,easily the best quality pda phone screen I've owned colour/contrast wise,glad of this because this was the only reason I chose it over the HD which from the video comparison's between the two show the HD has grey black's and yellow white's,look's washed out.
Hope I don't have to get my diamond screen changed otherwise it's best feature will be gone looking at the picture's above......I feel lucky.
Just a pity the screen require's soo much stylus pressure to use.

It mite of been me that made that point in an old thread months n months ago, i work in the online returns department for o2, there was talk of us stocking the diamond, but the suits decided not 2 after vodafone stopped stocking the handset after it was said that atleast 40% of the screens produced in 2008 were made in china for just a portion of the price of the other screens that was made in taiwan they seem to be the ones with the yellow tint issue!

If you cause enough trouble they will replace it, customers like you need to let htc know that ur not gunna put up with such low quality components! not for the price htc expect you to pay amnyway! i wish you good look in your quest

Install Advanced Config and set Pressure Threshold and Finger Pressure under section HTC TouchFLO at 80866, and touchscreen is super sensitive.

Yes have messed around with advanced config,although I didn't change the value's as much as you suggested,still is the least sensitive winmo device screen I've used,it's fine with finger use,with the stylus it's annoying and a lot of non registering for me,and watching a lot of youtube video's on it before I bought it,noticed a lot of missed tap's from the reviewer's also.
Still,it's a pretty screen to look at though.

Does the Note suffer from the green tint?

I was put off the Galaxy S2 because of the screen. Unless you look straight onto it I can see a green tint and if move the device the screen has a green shimmer to it which gets on my nerves and reduces the screen brightness to my eyes.
Ive been told this is the glass coating, does the Note have the same effect / tint?

The green tint was criticized in a German review of the Galaxy Note. Thereafter, the review was updated. It nows says that many users with phones having a green tint got a replacement and that the newer phones do not have this issue.

Ordered and returned a Galaxy S2 to Amazon.co.uk this week because I just couldn't adjust to the green tint, also the plastic made my hand sweat!? So is it a bad batch or is it like the iPads and iPhones which have 2 or 3 different screen manufactures - some yellowish, some redish.
The Note looks like a killer device with all of the goodness of the S2 plus a stylus and I really don't want to order a iPhone 4s but I'm hovering on the order button....

no green tint here. but even if there was, the 2 year warranty would cover it.

Also, the S2 was noted to have the best screen on a mobile device..

In fact my S2 comparing to note have a blue tint on white and the note it is more natural.

Not sure abt green but the two S2 I went thru had a severe blue tint. Was extemely excited abt the S2 and purchased 3 different cases, a car charger and the mhl adapter even before I got the phone.
The blue tint was so bad at the slightest of angles that it was simply unbearable. Got it replaced but the same story again. Finally caved in and bought the Sensation, but the screen was unbelievably inferior when compared to my HD2 and had that returned too.
Completely torn between the Nexus and the Note and jus can't make up my mind. That said, my HD2 running Hyperdroid CM7 is rock solid and super smooth and I love having physical keys, Its just that 'm bored using the same phone for so long now.

No green/blue/whatever tints noticed on either the SGS2 or the Note.
I guess these days everyone seems to have quality control problems with screen manufacture... just saw a friend do a side-by-side white colour comparison with two iPhone 4S' and one was more blue than the other.

My new note also has this tint. Personally it doesn't bother me, cause it only visible when you tilt white background. The pics below are from some review site, who also saw this. Anyone else?

Mine has a slight green tint, and sometimes there are infinitesimal color shifts that I notice while I'm reading ebooks on a solid color background. It's not pronounced enough to justify my replacing it though.

How do you guys check the green tint when in the store? what settings or apps do i have to go to to check the green tint?

I set both units to max brightness and then chose the one with less green hue. It was noticeable when I looked for it, and I was glad I asked him to let me look at both to choose one.
In the Samsung store, the note is clearly much better in terms of color temp under the fluorescent lighting of the store, than the GS2 was. The GS2 has a very obvious tint that was visible even without placing the note side-by-side next to it.
That's not to say the Galaxy Note is perfect. Its native white point is still pretty high it seems. At max brightness, my Note's white point is still noticeably "cooler" than my two calibrated monitors in the same indoor lighting environment. Dim down the display and it becomes even more "blue".

Thanks for your input. So when you saw both units, there was definite green tint on both? Do you guys consider this a normal trait for the kind of screen technology we have?

When looking at just 1 phone, it's not noticeable, when compared together, one of the notes had more green than the other, but not on a "deal breaking" level.
Yes, it's normal with this tech, Mobile versions of AMOLED tech never claims to be accurate, it only really sells its super wide color gamut and deep blacks.
If you want color "accuracy", then then iphone4s is technically more accurate. If you want an android phone, then a more accurate comparable res'd screen is the one on the LG Optimus LTE with AH-IPS 1280x720 on 4.3". Some display certification company claims that it's better than Super AMOLED Plus.
Accurate-to-life doesn't lead to being perceptually appealing though, hence why people are immediately drawn to the deep blacks and eye-popping saturation and brightness of Super AMOLED. Trust me when I say the note's screen will put a smile on your face!

I have the exact problem, but mine is good, but it shifts int green too, its a shame its not perfect these days.

Mine has NO green tint, the white is as white as snow.

No green tint when you look at it straight or when viewing angles? mine also shows excellent white when your looking at it straight. But when trying to view angles, the greenish tint slowly appears.

What are your top 3 Reasons for Return ?

I have been reading the threads here for a while, and alot of you all, have returned several Nexus 7's for various reasons. I'm trying to compile a simple bar graph, to see why people are returning their units. For me the final straw was the Color Hue/ or Tint correctness, or lack thereof.
New on is on par with iPad, 3 just not as bright or vibrant but at least my Blue is Blue now (not Purple)
So have at it.

For me it's been screen raise/separation, screen flicker and one of mine wouldn't charge with the device on, only when it was off.
I'm on my 7th one which has been perfect so far.

For me, it would be that the price was too high for what I was getting. Also I couldn't do nearly the things I thought I could do with the tablet. It was barely better than a front end for a web browser.
Wait, we are talking about returning an iPad to buy a Nexus 7, right?

Returned my first Nexus 7 because the colors looked washed out, whites over saturated, and sometimes the screen looked very over exposed (later I'd find out because of video playback).
Unfortunately I wouldn't realized until a couple returns later that all these issues were common on most (if not all) Nexus 7 tablets. I was confused early on by comments of "looks perfect" and "looks as good as my iPad 3".
But after 4 tablets, I'm pretty much convinced the washed out colors, white saturation, and video playback issues are universal. So my first RMA was actually pretty pointless.
My second and third Nexus 7 tablets however had raised glass. Two different types of raised glass though. On the second one the glass was bulging on the left side and could not be pushed down. I never opened the back to investigate what might be causing it. The third Nexus 7 was raised, but I could push it down. So I put a couple small clamp on it, left it over night and it's stayed down a couple days now.

Slight screen separation but I'm not going to return it for just that.

Screen separation, light bleed....thats it. Only 2 things, but they affect the most important part of the device, the screen!

RMA'd two units due to flicker. The second unit also had a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen, and a yellow tint to the screen. Waiting on my third unit to ship this week, hopefully problem free!

First one was for a dead pixel in a terrible spot for ebook reading, and it was otherwise the best unit. The other two were primarily because whites had a sickly yellow tint. All of them had screen separation to one degree or another, and all had the flicker.
I'm waiting awhile for these issues to be worked out, then I'll give it another shot.

Severe screen lifting on first (though not returning since I seem to have fixed it).
Second one going back because gyro/accelerometer/compass all way off and the frame has a kink/dint in it along with a small amount of lift and screen movement..
I have fairly washed out colours but I don't see that as a problem, I prefer the toned down colours to my overly vivid phone colours.

The washed out colours is a software problem in tegra3 it will be resolved soon.

Bought first one from Sam's on the 13th, returned due to screen lift. Noticed it after a week of heavy use.
Ordered an 8 from Google. Right out of the box, minor screen separation. RMA went through yesterday, getting a replacement.
I was more upset about a strip of stuck pixels in my second unit when I called in the RMA, but that wasn't there anymore the next time I booted up. Other than the very minor screen separation, which has not significantly progressed in the two weeks I've had it, I have no complaints about this unit. But I will be exchanging it anyway because I'm afraid it will get worse. I haven't been using this one nearly as much.
Here is a picture of my second unit. Look at the far side. The left bezel is a thin silver line, interrupted by the black display where the screen isn't flush.

I returned mine because I bought an extra one by mistake. I had ordered from OfficeDepot first, but when they said they were backordered, I made a new order from Staples. As luck would have it, they both arrived on the same day. I returned the one from Staples because Staples is closer to where I live.

First Nexus 7 from the play store had a bad digitizer. Returned it and got a RMA replacement with a bad head phone jack. Took a little effort by me but I got it working by sticking a needle in the jack and fixing the pins on the inside.....I still got bad crackling from my speaker but its not worth returning it and waiting on another tablet to come in.

I was thinking of exchanging it for another because of the washed out colors. Its not too bad but I wasn't sure if this was common. I started reading more and more people with the same issue. So I'm keeping it. Its not too bad and I have no other problems with it. Here is hoping maybe an update can improve it.

Note4 AMOLED Screen Quality *updated 11-11 reply from displaymate*

As some of the Note3 members may remember, I made a big thread in Note3 General Forum in regard to the display quality of the Note3,

Also, I made similar ones on note2 and generally about AMOLED development over time.
So, as I got my new Note4 (Snapdragon) yesterday (from Amazon Germany), it's time to take a closer look on the AMOLED of this brand
new device.
My first impressions are:
The display is overall way better in terms of color shift when tilting the screen, but:
At least on my first device there is a noticable shift in brightness on the right side of the screen, especially on the lower half of the screen.
On dark grey backgrounds (as for example the XDA app with the dark theme has) you can see a contrast or brightness loss on the lower
right corner.
But my unit has an other, more dramatic flaw: On the left side of the screen, just where the lower end of the volume rocker is located, there
is a 0,5mm area of the screen, where it seems like there is something between the screen and the glass, but there is nothing! on light backgrounds
the spot gets darker, on dark backgrounds the spot gets brighter > very annoying!!
But I guess this is a non common flaw, which is really bad luck and has nothing to do with the uneveness mentioned above.
The funny thing is, this time I really thought I wouldn't have to switch devices, because the screen is otherwise really fine, but the spot-flaw
ruins it for me...
So I ordered a replacement today at amazon, as soon as I have this second device I can compare the two in regard to the AMOLED quality,
and then I will update this post!
What are your first experiences with the screen?

Got my second device on Friday, and I've seen a third device from a friend:
My second device has a better screen in regard to uniformity (no darker right side of the screen), but: it is darker and has a slightly red tint when
viewed from the center. Also, the color shift is worse when tilting the device.
When I lay my three devices (note3, 2xnote4) side by side, enter *#0*# and compare the screens (walking around, looking from different angles),
then my hand-selected note3 has FAR the best performance in terms of neutral white, and tilting color shift is much less then on both note4.
the device from my friend has a worser red tint when looking straight on, but again tilting performance is better then my second device (although
not as good as on my note3)
conclusio so far:
.) note4 has worser tilting performance (color shift when tilting the device) as note3 (maybe due to higher PPI)
.) again, there are huge differences between different devices >> display lottery is back once again!
Update 02.11.2014:
After seeing a lot more of Note4 devices I'm now finally sure that on Note4 the displays vary a lot. "Perfect screens" are very rare, the best one
I've seen so far was on display in a "MediaMarkt" Store in VIenna. It was a display unit (without radio module), but the screen was a lot better then
on my current Note4. White was much more stable when tilting the device...
Today I had the idea of writing to "DisplayMate", because they tested a lot of Samsung AMOLED devices and their reviews always praise this screens
very much. Would be interesting what they would say to our issues:

I’m a consumer electronics freak with a plethora of devices, mostly from Samsung (I do not like
Apples overestimated marketing crap) and I’m especially a freak when it comes to displays. I
owned several AMOLED devices so far (Galaxy S1, S2, S3, Note1-4, Tab7-7, Tab-S(both)) and with
ALL of them I have to exchange them 2-8 (!) times to get one with a decent screen. Trust me, the
devices you get are cherry-picked from Samsung, or if you bought them randomly you must have
been VERY lucky!
I’ve a MSc in engineering and I hold product development lectures at university, so I know what
I’m talking about tech und manufacturing. Believe me, Samsung has big issues when it comes to
display quality. Their luck is that most people do not compare identical devices, therefore most
people would think their screen is ok and not bother.
So, what is the problem:

If you search you would find a lot of other threads in regard to Samsung’s AMOLED screens.
In short: The displays of otherwise identical units differ A LOT in terms of display quality. If you
buy 10 Note4 devices you will get perhaps 1-2 with a perfect screen, all other devices would
suffer from bad viewing angles (HUGE discoloration when tilting), uneven brightness distribution
(yellow corners, especially right side of the screen and lower half), or very different white tone
when straight viewing on. I did this since note2 this way: Purchase a few devices, select the one
with the best screen and return the others.
I think this has mainly two manufacturing reasons:
1) The panels are cut out of a wafer. Screens from the center of the wafer are perfect, screens
from the side regions suffer from uneven color and/or brightness distribution depending from
where of the wafer they have been cut
2) Uneven or otherwise not proper coating of the screen. A too thick layer perhaps could cause color
problems.
Nevertheless, what bothers me a little bit is that you do not mention any of this in your reviews, and
people think they have a perfect screen. It would be nice if you response to this issues and at least tell
us what your opinion about the reason for such huge quality issues is.

We get many Emails like yours with every display review article that we publish, with readers sending in comments and sometimes screen shots of their display, or even multiple displays side-by-side to accentuate the differences.
For our public article series we publish the results that we obtain. There is no question that there are always some defective units, substandard calibrations, variations between production lots and within production lots, variations in display performance, variations between displays from multiple suppliers and manufactured in different factories. We have no way to evaluate the scale, frequency, and validity of these issues based on reader Emails so we don't discuss them. All products, from displays to cars, have quality control and variation issues - consumers know this. We simply tell people that if the display is unsatisfactory then return it for exchange or refund.
For LCDs, a well known issue is the variation in the White LEDs used in the backlight - their color, brightness, and power efficiency all vary significantly. Manufacturers pay varying premiums to have the White LEDs pre-sorted into similar performance classes for their products.
We get many more Emails from unhappy iPhone and iPad customers than any other manufacturer. One possible source is that Apple uses many different suppliers for their displays. However, over a one year product cycle we may test a dozen iPhone and iPad units that are sent to us from multiple sources (including Apple competitors), and over many years we have never found any significant variations in display performance in our lab tests. I don't doubt that there are always some quality control and performance variations, but we have never seen any in the large number of Apple products that we have tested.
We don't get many Emails regarding Samsung OLED displays. Most seem to be the result of the sender leaving it in one of the default Vivid modes instead of the accurate (Cinema, Movie or Basic) mode that we use in our tests. Samsung is a single source manufacturer so that is not an issue. We also test many Samsung OLED devices (including many supplied by Samsung competitors) and have never seen any significant display performance variations within a given model. Again, I don't doubt that there are always some quality control and performance variations, but we have never seen any in the large number of Samsung OLED products that we have tested.
In any case, for our public article series we publish the display results that we obtain in our lab.
While it is difficult to get an objective statistical measure of the frequency and size of display performance variations, I highly encourage you to publicize this issue, perhaps via a youtube channel that can act as a central clearing house for this display issue.

So, as I got my new Note4 (Snapdragon) yesterday (from Amazon Germany), it's time to take a closer look on the AMOLED of this brand
new device.
My first impressions are:
The display is overall way better in terms of color shift when tilting the screen, but:
At least on my first device there is a noticable shift in brightness on the right side of the screen, especially on the lower half of the screen.
On dark grey backgrounds (as for example the XDA app with the dark theme has) you can see a contrast or brightness loss on the lower
right corner.
But my unit has an other, more dramatic flaw: On the left side of the screen, just where the lower end of the volume rocker is located, there
is a 0,5mm area of the screen, where it seems like there is something between the screen and the glass, but there is nothing! on light backgrounds
the spot gets darker, on dark backgrounds the spot gets brighter > very annoying!!
But I guess this is a non common flaw, which is really bad luck and has nothing to do with the uneveness mentioned above.
The funny thing is, this time I really thought I wouldn't have to switch devices, because the screen is otherwise really fine, but the spot-flaw
ruins it for me...
So I ordered a replacement today at amazon, as soon as I have this second device I can compare the two in regard to the AMOLED quality,
and then I will update this post!

Erm... What you are describing is completely false. Amoled screens don't have backlights.

@TML1504, Hey! I do remember your thread at the note 3's forum, was pretty awesome buddy made me change 4 n3's of mine to get a decent display due that that xD 1 thing I'd like to know is does the red still changes to orange even by tilting it a lil bit like on the N3, Ty.

Yes it does. The colour shift on the note 4 is bad. I still don't understand why reviews are not really mentioning it.

Yes it is. For me it almost detracts from all the good points about the screen; no point harping on about perfect colour accuracy if you can only see that when viewing the screen from exactly 90 degrees.

Yeah..it happen to me also..seem like at the right bottom the screen turn into pink white a bit at white background color..but it much better than my note 3..

Id suppose the same screen issues are on the Note 4 as well, lottery time.. I really like the note 4 due to the design but the lottery makes me think twice but maybe ill get it at a later date I wonder though how good are the dark greys on the Note 4, on the note 3 its terrible.

The screen on my device is flawless, I've loaded up that picture of all the wool and everything stands out clearly and vividly. Red is red and Orange is Orange etc.. if I tilt the screen any direction nothing changes, it's perfect.

I've seen six Note 4 phones in various Best Buy stores. All of them had noticeable shifting of colors when tilting the phone left or right, and it did not take much tilting to notice. I've played the screen lottery too many times with Apple products, and the thought of doing it ever again with any product doesn't make me happy.
I'm currently out of contract and was 100% sure that the Note 4 was my next phone. Now I'm not so sure. I have a lot of tolerance for issues that can come up with this technology, but screen quality is not one of those issues.
Disappointing.
The thing is, when looking at any new device, one of the top complaints seems to be screen quality. If I rule out every device because of screen quality, I'll just be stuck on my S3 forever.
I guess I'm on the fence.

I had the exact same problem with my first N3 that I got. I took it in to at&t and showed them and they replaced it. You couldn't see it on every "screen" but once you could it was evident that something wasn't right.

I too have this problem with colour shift on my Note 4, Can this issue be fixed with a software update?
I never had this problem on the Note 3

Got my second device on Friday, and I've seen a third device from a friend:
My second device has a better screen in regard to uniformity (no darker right side of the screen), but: it is darker and has a slightly red tint when
viewed from the center. Also, the color shift is worse when tilting the device.
When I lay my three devices (note3, 2xnote4) side by side, enter *#0*# and compare the screens (walking around, looking from different angles),
then my hand-selected note3 has FAR the best performance in terms of neutral white, and tilting color shift is much less then on both note4.
the device from my friend has a worser red tint when looking straight on, but again tilting performance is better then my second device (although
not as good as on my note3)
conclosio so far:
.) note4 has worser tilting performance (color shift when tilting the device) as note3 (maybe due to higher PPI)
.) again, there are huge differences between different devices >> display lottery is back once again!

So we were discussing this on the other forum--google "uniform screen color" on android central for the thread. Someone posted that their screen color wasn't uniform, and so I shared my experience below.
I had to return my turbo because there was clear but subtle color difference depending on the area of the screen--almost like the color temp was getting warmer in the lower right corner, or like someone described, like there was too much brightness in one area vs another. It got more obvious to me as i used the phone, especially for reading ebooks.
When using the app "display test" from the play store, and the "viewing angle test" graphic, it was obvious that contrast, color, and white balance was different in the lower right corner.
I returned it, argued forever (2 hrs) with the manager at verizon who couldn't see it...until I showed him the test graphic, and he looked at the various parts of the screen with a jewelers loupe (magnifier.) They replaced it as a defect, but said it was so subtle they were basically doing me a favor. I disagree, but whatever, time will tell on these displays.
The new one, while MUCH better....still does not provide uniform color temp and brightness. It's disappointing, given how great this display was supposed to be.
I'd love if anyone else could look at the test graphics and see for yourselves...but be forewarned, as I said in the other forum, once you see it you can never unsee it......
And yes I took the plastic off of the screen.

Sadly I see the same on mine. Originally had a ballistic nylon model which had the issue and have since switched to the standard with the same. Mine is almost more of a banding horizontally across the screen almost like it heats up and cools down a few times through the height of the screen.

It's very, very slight on mine. Can't decide if its a swap issue for me yet.
Shame we don't have a way to back these up for issues, I just got it where I wanted it!

Huh? Its AMOLED RGBG, possibly the WORST display technology ever invented. How can you have expected it to be "great"?

I'm in the same boat. It's more noticeable on a white background. Any chance it can improve over time? I recall iphones having similar issues a couple years ago and people saying there was a "break in" period.

No idea. Decided to live with mine last high and today considering a return this afternoon, lol.

Are you going to exchange it? I thought about doing this, but I'm afraid the replacement might be just as bad or worse. I have the pinkish tint on the bottom half of the screen.

I'm curious as to how open Verizon will be to exchanging it for such a "minor" issue. I just got a replacement because calls wouldn't work on my first one, so I was able to get some pretty good comparison photos (both phones at max brightness viewing the same images in QuickPic with no ambient light photographed with my 5D): New phone is on the left.

I thought it did until I read this. There is a redish blob about an inch up from the bottom. Now I cant unsee it. I will wait a few months and the use motos guarantee let them work out the manufacturing issues first.

I think I am going to do the same.
My 3rd Turbo, after 2 14-day exchanges, only has a small line of pink about an inch up from the bottom. However, it also goes away depending on viewing angle (it shifts up once I view it past like 45 degrees tilting the top away from me). So who knows.

I know this is an old thread but I got my Moto Maxx today and it has this same issue towards the top part of the phone. I got it from swappa from a store in PR so I'm wondering if I should see if they will swap it out for me but it seems like all of them have it to some degree or another? I have also seen similar posts about the nexus 6 (not low brightness pink hue issue but like this, uneven temp) I'm wondering if I should go through the trouble if the next one will be the same

To those who have had this device for several months, does the pink go away? Anybody out there manage to get a non pink one? Contemplating taking it back after flashing back to stock image. Thanks!

Here is my Turbo next to a good one at Costco. Mine is on the right. Pretty easy to see how pink it is:
Funny story really...so I got a new Turbo after making sure the screen was good - no discernible pinkness from normal viewing angles. I took it back to work and set it on the wireless charger I got at Verizon a few days ago. When I set it on there, the phone apparently crashed and booted into Fastboot. I was surprised but thought maybe the case I put on it was pushing the volume and power buttons down, but nope it wasn't. OK, so I chose to Start from Fastboot, it rebooted right back into Fastboot...uh oh. I chose Factory and hit the button aaaaaaaand this Droid was never living again. It went black and doesn't do jack now. It charges still, so that part of it still functions, but nothing you push will cause it to display anything or vibrate, etc. Great.....back to Costco I go. This time the dude was all "You know...you fulfilled your early-upgrade requirements by sending in the Razr, you could probably swap your dead Turbo for any phone if you do Edge". Hmm, this was unexpected...welcome, but unexpected. I had the S6 staring me in the face and I know they got root on the Verizon version, so I got one of those, joining the sheep. I do miss the Turbo, but the S6 is nice, too. I don't know which one I like better yet, but I'm leaning towards the S6 without letting the 2 bad Turbo's sway my opinion. I did lose about $100 in screen protectors, cases, and Mofo with the Turbo experiment, but it was worth it to get upgraded 7 months before my upgrade date.
And ya the Verizon dude noticed the hash in the notification for the "SU binary update" or whatever, and SuperUser in the app drawer...and he just laughed. Glad I didn't waste my time restoring it back to the stock image.
