I just update my pure edition to lollipop & now facebook images in chrome aren't scaling correctly. Does anyone else have this issue? Normally the images scale to the width of the page.

It was worse before. Images were oversized. But yes everyone has this and I'm not sure if it's an actual bug

that's pretty lame. I wonder what changed between kitkat & lollipop to cause this?
I saw this in the developer preview on the N5 but it was working fine when Lollipop was released.
If you select "request desktop site" in the ... Menu you'll get proper scaling but it has to be selected every time you visit the site. If you are rooted you can change the browser user agent.

Interesting, the request desktop version works. Very odd. I wonder what the hell is causing this

Yes you will lose root if you take the OTA. The biggest change that was made between 2.12.405.7 and 2.30.405.1 is that they have fixed all of the temp root exploits. So not only will you lose root, but you will not be able to re-root until a new root exploit is found.
Thank you for quick response.
OMG! It is good I haven't updated!
Looks good to me. Picasa albums add in working. Screen text a better size. Don't know what full list of changes is?

It's already been done. If you're looking for a ROM in future, the Android Development section of the forum is your friend.

Scrub that, Picasa add in stops working. As useless as it ever was.
Pretty fed up with HTC, they are nowhere near the Company they used to be. Flaky software, useless support, the farce of HTCSENSE.
Horrible.
After reading a few threads about this update, all I ever see is people querying and *****ing about losing their S-OFF. Is there an actual change list available so I see what exactly has been done?

I haven't seen anything. Have you checked the HTC Support site? That is where such information would originate from if it is available.
Surely you cant update if your S-OFF anyway...atleast I cant!
text prediction(suggestion) in portrait mode not working
Hi guys, I have successfully updated to this version.
However the most frustrated thing is when I am typing text in portrait mode, no matter what app (web browser, calendar, message, map, or 3rd party app, etc) I am typing in, the word prediction (suggestion) does not work anymore (or it does, but I could not see all the possible suggestions as I used to if I misspell something, then it just automatically picked one suggestion to replace my word)!! Only when I change to landscape mode they start to appear.
This never happened before this update, and also, before, when I typed on the text box, the keyboard would appear as well as the cursor positioning where my text will display. So I could still see part of the original screen of the app. But now, the text box basically expands a lot so I could not see anything else on my screen apart from the white, ugly, big text box which takes more than half of my screen and the keyboard, nothing else!!
I am wondering if anyone else who updated to this version has the same issue. This is bad, bad, and bad!!
Cheers!!

Ok, I just rebooted the phone twice and everything goes back to normal. I am sure I had rebooted the phone more than once before, but they did not work until just 5 mins ago...
Pls ignore my previous post then.

Chrome fails to load sites regularly. It seems to load, the status bar completes but the page remains blank. The fix is easy enough, switching to a new tab and retrying the webpage/Google search loads the page properly. It's annoying though. Has anyone else experienced this and/or know how to fix it permanently?
Thanks
For me fails to load at first then refresh and works fine. Are you tried uninstall/clear cache/reinstall?

Yeah I have thanks, and refresh continues to fall to load it.
Just my opinion.. Chrome is a terrible browser. There's many superior ones on the play store.
Tho it could be the sites themselves as well.

That was weird I check this thread an instant before I got the email about a reply and there wasn't one. Anyway...
Thanks for the reply, you're probably right. Unfortunately I like the passwords and bookmarks syncing too much.
It's a Chrome bug for sure though. I think something similar used to happen with my Nexus 7 (2013). I don't even really no why I posted it here, it really should be posted on Google's Product Forums.

I haven't had this issue on my VZW Dev X. I'm stock but rooted (via twrp/supersu), no other modifications.
Are you running any mods on your phone?

I am running the 4.4.2 GPE Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/fxz-xt1053-xt1060-google-play-edition-4-t2715488) on my VZW Dev X. I've got Xposed with Gravity Box installed as well. Similar stuff used to happen with my Nexus 7 like I said, although I also have GB [KK] installed on that too. And it hasn't been a problem on the N7 recently.
I have to use facebook for my job. When i go through my newsfeeds, pictures that are posted by friends or followers are very small on the moblie site... About the size of profile pics. If i click on the pic, it will open the post and it's still just as small. I can click view full size to actually see the picture. Unless i go through this process i can't really see the pic. The rest of the site looks normal. It is happening with all browsers. This didnt happen with my droid x, droid razr max hd or droid x 1st gen. If i go to the desktop site, pictures are normal size. Any help would be great! I attached a pic to show you what i'm talking about. Thanks.
I have the same problem. Anyone ever come up with a solution?
Use FB app or a different browser. Works fine for me on Chrome and in FB app. Possibly a browser setting to conserve data?
I think it might have something to do with Facebook mistaking the new 1080p Moto X for the old 720p Moto X and delivering smaller images. I've reported it to them with some screenshots, but don't expect it to get fixed.
Posted about this a week or so ago. The error happens in Chrome but not Firefox on Lollipop, but not KitKat. One suggestion that was given & actually works is to go to the facebook mobile site & then choose the option to request the desktop site. It'll refresh the mobile site & show the bigger images.
I doubt it's something with facebook itself because it works normally in Chrome on KitKat & only started happening when I upgraded to Lollipop.

Anyone tried the Xperia with Facebook feature in 5.1.1 Lollipop versions?
I've tried using it (Go to settings>accounts>add account>Xperia with facebook) it loads for a while but it returns to the menu and nothing happens. I wondered if it changed because I just checked it out a few days after flashing a new stock ROM.
bump. anyone tried this feature? does it work properly for you?
anyone kind enough to check it out for me?
It is nothing special. You just press "Like" to sony mobile page on Facebook and it synchronizes your Facebook events with your Calendar and viceversa. That's all it does.

This feature bloat is completely pointless. On stock ROM, this is one of the many things I remove from my device. If you're going to share on Facebook, use the website.

Actually no. It does upload facebook photos in a much higher quality than uploading it directly on the facebook. (at least when it worked) Have you ever tried it though, did it work on your stock rom?

Facebook compresses your uploaded images regardless of what platform you use - Android app, IOS app, Sony app, website, etc. It doesn't make sense how the Xperia extension somehow uploads a higher quality than through the website. Besides, if the extension is truly hit-and-miss like you said, why are you still using it?

I'll admit, I've never tried it. However, I used GNOME Facebook integration that works similarly to the Xperia plugin on the Linux desktop. Long story short, it was littered with problems, so I just use the website. No issues so far.

I meant to say it did the job when it was still working before Lollipop or this version, plus it did more than that, like sync contacts and whatever although I did not really put it into much use.

I was just concerned about certain functionality, I was worried I might find abnormalities or loopholes from the fresh and pure firmware I downloaded.

Has anyone else noticed that the transition animations when using the Play store has completely gone on the Nexus 6? I am currently using version 6.9.21.G-all. When I select an app I no longer get any of the material design transition animations. The next screen just appears. I tried the same Play store version on my Note 4 and it works as expected...with all the transition animations when I select different apps, etc.
Is this a known issue? or is it just my nexus 6? Help needed on this please.
I received the OTA update to 7.0 and my play store version is 7.0.12.H-all[0]. Try tapping the build version and see if it provides the update to 7.0.

I too have since then received the 7.0.12.H-all update and the animations are still missing. When you use that version on your N6 are the transition animations when selecting an app for example still there for you?
Yes, I noticed no difference in either the developer priviews or the 7.0 official release on any of my devices (N6, N6P, N9). Is this what you're talking about?

Yes that is exactly what I am talking about. Mine no longer does that at all. Do you guys think a factory reset of the phone would help?
The strange thing is that if I uninstall the update to the Play store app and revert back to the factory version it works just fine with animations until the play store auto updates itself and the animations stop working again. That was the case when I was on version 6.9.21.G-all and 7.0.12.H-all .
So confused as to how to solve this issue since you have now confirmed that the animations are present on your N6.
Did you make any changes to the animation and transition settings in the Developer options?

NO I have not made any changes there.
No animations is a good thing!
Speed is king!
Problem now SOLVED!!
Turns out a factory reset has solved the mysterious bug of no animations in the Play store app. I suspect that maybe that there was a conflict somewhere after the OTA update to Nougat but if anyone experiences something similar a factory rest might help. Thanks to all who offered advice about this issue. Greatly appreciated.
