I have both the Turbo and N6 in hand this week. Aside from battery life, the N6 is by far my favorite.
I can get 6 hours SOT/24 hours per charge on the Turbo, and 5.5 SOT/15 hours on the N6. The N6 would cover a heavy use day because there's no way I'd get to 5 + hours looking at a phone without being near my charger, but to an old man committed to function over form I'm undecided over which phone to keep (thinking a long hike with GPS active and poor reception).
The Turbo has any 5.0 improvement sitting in the bank, so to speak. The N6 performance is with 5.0 on board.
Initially, 5.0 was reported to increase the Moto X life by 30%, but there were bugs in the first release that actually DEcreased battery life relative to KitKat
Any thoughts on whether the N6 5.0 version of lollipop suffers from similar bugs, and that updates will improve its battery life over what I'm seeing? Or is what I'm seeing likely to be what I'll be getting?
There is no way of knowing, however the turbo has a bigger battery and smaller screen to power. No matter what happens you will get more battery life from the turbo vs the n6. It is entirely possible that battery shall improve on either devices, but we can't know until the updates happen.

Only time and release of 5.0.1 official will tell. I'm running 0.7 alpha of Slim ROM and compared to the 0.5 which was 5.0 based it seems to draw less battery screen off all else equal.

Maybe the better way to ask the question is whether the Moto X did in fact have improved battery in pre-5.0 release than it did when it officially came out, and has since improved with 5.01.
I think this question belongs on the MotoX forum, don't you?
I will be posting it there as well......

After a full day of moderate/light use my Galaxy Nexus GSM battery would typically have around 10-25% remaining battery at the end of the day 8am to 8pm. Wifi, BT, GPS, Sync, and auto brightness.
During the same time period with the above features also on over the last two days my Nexus 5 has 65% and 70% respectively remaining at the end of the day.
I feel so liberated.

This may be due to many things.
1. Your GNexus battery has been used for a while and can't hold a charge as well as it did when it was new.
2. Hardware in the Nexus 5 is newer, thus may be more efficient.
3. The S800 (from what I've heard) handles things differently when it comes to our signals. I don't remember exactly what it does, I just know it's much more efficient.
Taking those into consideration (And I'm sure there's more factors) I'd say you'd be very right to assume the N5 is more efficient, but most likely not as efficient as it would seem in your situation since you're comparing an Old/Used device to a New device. In other words, if you had a brand new GNexus then you could really compare and be able to say with confidence how much more efficient the N5 is.

I replaced the stock battery in my GNexus 2 months ago with a 2100 battery. I originally purchased the GNex in May 2012.
Battery life was awful throughout the GNex life with both batteries.

So Guys android 5.0 is here and i think most of u have tried it.So hows Battery performance on lollipop?
I feel it's worse TBH. I've tried several different roms and revisions and it still seems to be worse. Maybe I'm just playing with my phone more but my SOT can't seem to break 4 hours and it usually can't go all day on a charge.
Same. My battery life definitely seems worse.
I had better battery life on the developer Preview!!
this sucks
after removing Google Now and Google Fit, it has improved a bit, but still bad.
On some days it's pretty bad and on other days it isn't with pretty much the same setup... LOL
I accept the fact that battery has gotten worse with Lollipop, but I'm sure they'll fix this on the next release.
Chill~
Worse.
Developer Preview was significantly better than stick KK, final release the same as KK if not slightly worse. Was definitely expecting more from LP.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium HD app
mine is definitely way way way better
I'm a heavy user and its better than KK
I had the dev preview and Battery life was better than KK
Now on final release battery life is 1% drain per minute if I dont use the phone (but I discovered exchange services and gmail had updated from the one from the apk's I installed on the dev preview
re built again last night and max is 4 hours again without using the phone
2nd rebuld I did not restore anything
KK could be a day or 2 with using the phone before needing a charge

Ok, here is my xperia z3 compact not been charged for at least a day, has all the same apps and is used about the same as the Nexus 5 (z3 running kitkat, with NO power saving features enabled) and actually has a lot more apps running than Lollipop
and this is the Nexus 5 with only the apps you can see listed as running apps that was from a full charge overnight
It has dropped another 4% since taking that pic
In my case, the standby time of my N5 (which is new, I got it back from a RMA a month ago, so its battery isn't worn) is much worse on Lollipop than Kitkat: it drops 5% battery in one night in airplane mode, while 4.4.4 barely dropped 1%. On the other hand, the battery life when using the phone is way better! Before updating, I always got less than 4h SoT; now I get past 4.30 without even activating the battery saver.
So I'm not voting at the moment.
Mine is better than KitKat, some random drain's, quick soft reset fixes it.
Battery has definitely taken a hit wid L. Clean flash where
Mine's definitely better. I'm not a heavy user, but on KK I would need to charge during the day at work (usually afternoon time)...but now I can leave it till I get home.
I don't charge my N5 overnight, instead I wait to come in to work where I have a Qi charger on my desk. Usually I see it sitting at about 95% when I put it on the charger at work after leaving it alone all night. This morning I see it at 65%. I have never had it drop that low in one night before android 5 showed up.
What is even more interesting is that the battery stats claim that basically no one has been using any battery power. The highest number is 3% for wifi with 2% and 1% for a few other things, so where the heck did the 35% of the battery charge go?
I was in a similar situation as most people in this thread but currently I'm on my first discharge cycle on optipop rom with uber kernel and im on 4 hour screen on time with 20% to go.
I have google now off and location on and spent most of my time on wifi with avg cell signal.
I flashed the OTA manually and haven't done a factory reset, but the battery life is better than ever. 3 days and 9 hours, and 3.27 h screen on time. Brightness is set to auto.

Of course, if pay more games, I'll get it down much much faster.
I have some random battery drain issues too. But I think the issues belongs to 3rd party apps. In the safe mode there's not any battery drain. The 3rd party apps aren't compatible with Lollipop yet. So the main issue is this apps. Now 'Im trying to uninstall and reinstall the apps to find which apps drain the battery in deep sleep. I think which apps has a "cancel deep sleep mode" permission may drain battery if it's not updated for Lollipop. It's just a guess though.
First my battery life was really bad. I couldn't figure it out. I decided to do full wipe and it helped a lot. Now the battery life is better than on kitkat.

I'm getting worse battery life than any ROM stock or not I've run on the phone. I had better battery life on the dev previews. I don't think I've broken 3 hours screen on time or mixed usage(screen time+music time)once since the official image came out. I've done 2 or 3 clean flashes of the image and had also tried the Nexus 5 Experience ROM. I've used it each time rooted. Last night I did another clean flash of the image locked the bootloader and am going to try running it unrooted for a day or so with only 4 or 5 user apps installed. It shouldn't make a difference but I'm going to see what happens.

Wondering what you guys have experienced, and how much change you saw, if any, with the 5.01 update?
So now that we've all had a chance to run 5.1 for a while, how do you guys compare the droid turbo battery life on lollipop vs kitkat?
I get better battery with KitKat. Maybe I just need to run it longer to break it in. I used to unplug my phone at 9 AM and plug it in at 11PM with 20% left and 4 hour screen. With lolipop, I had to plug it in now at 6PM with 30% battery and 2.5 SOT.
Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
That's what I figured myself... I've been getting slightly worse battery with 5.1 but my friend swears he's been getting a better battery life on lollipop
I too get a slightly worse, or at least no slightest improvement of, battery life. Of course I have only unplugged the phone the first time after upgrading for a few hours so it is just my impression, but my usage pattern is just the same as I did yesterday.
Much better on Lollipop for me.

I'm getting slightly worse.
I'm gonna give it a week and if it doesn't get better I'm gonna try a factory reset.
My battery life is much better than it was on KK.

5 hours 10 minutes screen on time at 18% battery.
I'm actually getting a lot better battery life. Im ending the day right now with around 60% and on KK I would typically be down to around 15% at this time. However I had particularly bad battery life on KK
About 3 1/2 hours on screen time and I'm at 34% battery. A bit of an improvement for me versus KitKat.

Factory reset, and/or look at your battery drain. As posted by others we are getting better life post update, so it's not the LP itself that is causing the issue but something hanging on your phone causing it.
May I ask whether it is normal for Google Play Services to stay awake for nearly the entire period since unplugged? If not, what can I do before factory reset?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/general/google-play-services-battery-drain-t3083672 helped
I've read that. Does the upgrading of 5.1.1 make any difference?
I haven't noticed any difference. The phone has stayed in the 20-30% range when i get home in the afternoon from work.
I'm getting worse battery and Google services is now the top battery user in my list.....
Google play services is the 4th on mine. Top of the list, right below screen, is Android OS. I find that as long as I disable apps I don't use my battery is pretty good. Unplugged it around 9am and I'm at 63%.

I have to say I find the battery life to be outstanding if you are using the chinese rom. If using the global one it is really poor. There is another thread on here about battery life. Have a look at that
How much SOT on chinese rom?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/discussion-xiami-mi-5-battery-life-t3338693
I look that but I Asks you.
Chinese rom was better than global on performance and camera?

In my opinion the chiense rom is much better although there are obviously some chinese apps there too
I'm reviewing the phone at the moment, my results on GeekBench 06:30:30 for runtime and a score of 3905 with the screen on maximum brightness. I've used the phone with dual-SIM and single-SIM and not struggled with it at all. MIUI 6.3.31 and it's the 64/3GB model. Hope that's of some help!
Battery life is usually good. SOT around 5 hrs for me and I usually play games.
However stand by is really odd one both the roms. Sometimes overnight it consumes 1%-3% sometime s 20%-25%, I still can't figure out why.
25% in night?? why?

Never seen that with mine. While at work during the day I only use it for the odd call and some texts along with a small amount of browsing. With the chinese rom I would have 85% charge left when I get home but with the global rom doing the same I would have about 65% left so clearly it wasnt going to sleep properly. Maybe thats what you are seeing

No, I haven't updated my signature from so long.
I have used nexus 5, galaxy s6(lost), lg g4 and oneplus 2 after Lg g2. For me galaxy s6 was the best device I have ever used.
Mi5 has a mediocre camera nothing exceptional about it xiaomi is creating hype about 4-axis and things however in reality it can't capture full hd video smoothly.
For sure Mi5 has better sound and battery and chipset but software wise I think any other phone out is better than this MIUI crap.
and believe me MIUI can never get fixed until and unless they changed their framework completely. As of now MIUI 7 is based on MM but it doesn't have a single feature of MM so what is the use of such OS. MIUI is for users who just want to keep applying themes and do nothing else.
I am never going to buy xiaomi again.
Hoping I get my hands on an AOSP or CM ROM soon or else I have to sell this ****.

I really don't know what is wrong but I experience the same on both the ROM's, yesterday I got 7.2.12 and after that it consumed only 3 % overnight even with alarm on.
Also, I have one more strange bug whenever I start playing coc my wifi gets disconnected and it gets disconnected randomly too, are you facing any such thing like this.
You have the wakelock qpnp_fg_memaccess that is draining battery. Check with wackelock detector..
Same happened to me one night from 40% to 6% in 6 hours..
This happened because Qualcomm introduced a new feature called Fuel Gauge that is managing the battery and is not working really like it should..
Strange.. I used my phone heavily(not gaming of course) and hardly to hit 70% in 8 hours during day time.

So what does one do about it? its my first day on mi5, i cant say that battery is bad.. its almost same as on a Sony Z5P.
My Mi5 is doing great on the battery... I use it at work i use it at home... during the night it drain around 5% max. Normally i can say it can last 1,5 days...
Using China Stable 7.3.3 With some battery usage tweaks..
Using CM13 I go all day without recharging from 7am to 7pm

MI5 is one of the crazy device ever! Once you receive the phone you will be keep busy with experiment. Some people will tell battery life is outstanding and some like me will say battery life is poor.
My impression about MI5 is, usually after buying a phone we try to use it hassle free. But MI5 will create lots of confusion and make you trend to experiment lots of things until you get the perfection.
Currently the global ROM is most worst ever ROM and it will make you frustrated. Some people will tell China ROM is better but eventually until unless you are Chinese, you will never like chinese things!
Just now flashed CM13 and looks impressive!
The way you charge helps with endurance as well
Try getting into the habit of not letting your battery level drop below 15%. Charge it from there to 100%. Was a big item on xda some months ago about expanding the quality of a modern smartphones battery.
