Hey all,
The GTalk video call fc bug on CM10 has been discussed sparsely in various threads and in order not to spam/pollute them even more with posts regarding the issue i decided to make a new one, just to figure out if it really works ok for some and why's that. Recently it was mentioned that if one flashes the Xoom modded gapps (by EOS team - found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777987) he'll get video call running since the EOS team has modded the package in order to work with non-NEON devices (or something like that - haven't been able to find clear documentation in their thread). I flashed said gaps package and, even though the phone is able to initiate the video call in the background, i get a foreground 'unfortunately gtalk has closed' or so message. Thats definitely better than before when the program was simply crashing, but doesn't solve the issue. Audio calls run fine though. Pengus mentioned that he wiped dalvik/cache, flashed EOS gapps, rebooted and rebooted again and it worked. Didnt happen for me, still same issue on video calls. I must also note that even b4 flashing EOS gapps, i was able to do video calls and even videoconference (3 way video call) using G+ hangouts, so it must be a program specific issue more than a general android libs situation (excuse my ignorance - doing my best to understand how things work in this OS ). So how do this run for you people? Is there anyone who managed to get it running fine on CM10, and if yes, can you give some details on your current setup? Also, if you did manage to get it running, did you follow a different flashing procedure than the one mentioned here? Thanx for your replies/participation
My current setup: CM10 3/1 nightly, old BL, v28e BB, EOS gapps
Peace

Hi,
here is what I did to solve this: I just took the libvideochat_jni.so from the eos-package and pushed it to /system/lib. Afterwards I cleared gtalk data and cache, restarted the device. Finally I could do video-calls
I've also attached the libvideochat_jni.so I used, maybe someone can make a flashable zip from it. I'm on pengus latest rom+kernel by the way.
Regards,
orgler

thanx for the tip mate. pushed the file w quick adb pusher, wiped app's data/cache but still get fc when trying to video call.. all this after i moved to official cm10.1, but i doubt that thats the problem. what a terrible bug #@$%&$#@&!!!!

I didn't even wipe dalvik cache. Just the gtalk data. And then I did a reboot. Does voice chat work? Does the app just close or do you get a fc?
Gesendet von meinem LG-P990 mit Tapatalk 2
ok, went back to cm10 3/1 nightly (old BL), flashed pengus' new kowalski kernel, pushed the .so file, deleted talk's data, rebooted. getting instant fc on both video and audio calls. :banghead:

There you go. Logcat of fc first on video call n then on audio call. View attachment gtalk-video-audio-fc-logcat.txt
I installed the gapps and gtalk video work after my first reboot.
gTalk video doesn't work for me either... Hangouts work, even though they had a hard time starting to work, but eventually I was able to do a video conference, after some hangs and reboots...
The simplest of features don't work on android 4.x... I like the fluidity but this is starting to get irritating...

hangouts worked with no issues for me.. but the gtalk fc's really start to irritate me as well, especially because it seems that for some it runs well, but dont know why. another BL issue then?

it seems that it works on some new bl roms. anyone that got it workinh on the old bl? (or anyone that can figure out what went wrong on the logcat i posted a few posts above? had flashed the eos gapps .so file mentioned on p.1)

Here is my logcat of GTalk FC with suggested library http://pastebin.com/pX3hTBjB
UPD: seems i have fixed GTalk video...
You need to take from eos Talk.apk, libvideochat_jni.so, libvideochat_stabilize.so and check, if you have original /system/lib/hw/camera.tegra.so. If you experimented with ICS cam, camera.tegra.so possibly changed.

wow great news. Where did u push Talk.apk and libvideochat_stabilize.so? I havent flashed ICS cam, so i guess camera.tegra.so shouldn't need any changes.
EDIT: Nevermind, found them.
/system/app/Talk.apk
/system/lib/libvideochat_stabilize.so
Oh, and you should take libs from optional/noneon/lib folder in eos archive
Don't forget about permissions and owner (644 root:root)

Sorry you've confused me a bit now. Take which libs from optional/noneon/lib folder? libvideochat_stabilize.so and libvideochat_jni.so only, isnt it? Because these files also exist in the EOS package in system/lib. And permissions/owner for which files?

That patch is partially working on my two Mini2 Gt-S 6500 with 07/07 and 07/13 releases (will never add NFC support to 6500D non NFC version). I'd like help TheWhisp about Nfc but as newbie cannot post on development thread yet.

Apparently, I found the patch that was in a YouTube video. However that patch also does not work for me... So there's no nfc for 20/7 build? the previous builds are more laggy I love the current build

Get a look to the thread [Patch/Fix]NFC Working patch/fix for cm10/10.1 by NiceIceDice96. His patch is partially working for me between my Mni 2 and my Nexus 7 3G (Android 4.3.....Nexus forever and ever...); partially, because i can only send pictures from Nexus 7 to Mini 2, but the opposite doesn't work. I don't want to upgrade to your release because some users experienced problems with Hangouts and others voice over ip apps that are fully working in the releases i'm currently running.

Is your build lag free, and is camera working in your build? I might consider to flash the previous build
PS: Just discovered the 13/7 and 7/7 is actually cm10.1 .. is cm10.1 better? heard that battery life sucks though, is nfc patch working for cm10.1 18/7 build?

Stock camera is working fine for pictures, not for videos.
I only have problem with data transfer on WiFi tethering and NFC support, but the ROM
is working great, reliable and stable.

DISCONTINUED: I discontinue this in favor of my OMNI-Build. CM is too broken at the moment for me (Graphic glitches as well as regular freezes). Also the FXP builds seem start to roll in. OMNI works fine for me and I will put out a new build tomorrow.
Threw a working CyanogenMod 11 build together. As the bundled CWM does not work, I replaced it with TWRP.
TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
EDIT: BE WARE, it seems that the GPU driver screws up and the tablet starts to hang under certain circumstances. I am working on it.
EDIT2: Seems it has nothing to do with the GPU drivers. ReInstalled and wiped and it worked fine the last few hours. Maybe its the GApps. Investigation still ongoing.
Working:
- HSDPA+ (I have no LTE capable card, so I cannot test LTE, but HSDPA+ works)
- Bluetooth
- WiFi
- GPS
- Camera
- Video
- Sound
- Hardware Acceleration
- Rotation
Not working:
- CWM (flashes broken) - replaced it with TWRP
- SELinux is set to permissive for now (otherwise data and cache do not mount)
- Nothing else found .. yet

It'd be great to have some love for the WiFi variants in these forums. Unfortunately I don't have a computer anymore otherwise I would add the device tree and build it myself.

Most tablet z users own the wifi version. I hope someone makes a Rom for the masses soon.
i got status 7 error while flashing rom using cwm 6.0.3.2
I have one with locked bootloader, just rooted, with not Cwm or twrp.
Will I be able to install this ROM if I installed twrp recovery? Or do I also need to unlock bootloader before flashing?
If yes what are the fastest way to do this.
What stock now

Nice find man, im gonna give this a try as soon as it downloads been running cm 10.2 since i got my xtz so been looking forward to this!
Edit: so i flashed over my cm10.2 with cm11 and 4.4 gapps at first and then tried a clean flash of the boot img and installing from recovery. so far its not very stable at the moment for me on my pollux_windy, there is no sound but i keep hearing a clicking sound from the tablet, dalvik / art seems to be working but i was having the laggy issues opening the app drawer and unlocking the screen, it looks really nice so far and im enjoying the google launcher experience but i keep getting random hangs and then reboots at the moment. Just done a clean flash and giving art another try.
Edit 2: No such luck still kinda laggy and no sound but with the click noise repeating every few seconds, just flashed back to cm10.2 coz i need sound :s keep up the good work though guys, really looking forward to this rom!
sorry op not trying hijack thread..

For every ROM that is non P it is the same procedure.
Kernel
Greetings from developers!
To ask whether there is any 30.0.101 kernel which operates under the Mahdi rom?
The latest version 4.4.2 AOSP rom have to go with, but if you plant item UKF thread destroyed by the Mahdi, the WiFi will not work.
Hey bro, first of all a big THANKS for the ROM. :good:
Then i wanted to say to you 3 things:
1. About the WiFi, i dont know if its a bug but im having it: When I turn on and off the WiFi for about 2-3 times in a row the WiFi blocks and i cant activate it anymore and the only solution is to reboot.
2. About the status bar, sometimes when i unlock the phone the time in the status bar its not there.
3. Sometimes the phone wakes itself after i locked it.
4. Sometimes the touch doesnt works after i locked and i try to unlock it.
I am getting "gmail stopped working" message often. My gmail is not syncing, Google + fc, keyboard fc while trying gesture typing unable to send SMS using default SMS app
Will report any other bugs soon.
Other than these ROM is smooth, WiFi connects fast,
Edit: gmail, google+ and playstore got synced after I stopped the process and cleared data/cache. Still gesture input causes keyboard to stop working for sometime.
