Hello, I have seen, it is the first time you are installing a rom. So please be careful!
You must read exactly the Instruktions from the OP.
Hello,
2. Reboot to recovery(only TWRP/CWM Touch/PhilZ is supported)
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649923
CWR you have used does not work for flashing the rom
Btw, when you are flashing a rom for the first time, and you have less experience with roms you should to consider, if you take another rom. For the rom you choosed is still in Beta status!
Take a stable or nightly rom. Anyway you have at least to install CWR from the above Link.
Good luck!

I used an old version of CWM maybe thats why :crying:
YES!! I have the ones you recommended installed already!,
So can i just install the latest nighly ??? (for me instaling is doing the installation from the recovery is the same as flashing?)
Im in stock rom so can't really understand about the kernel, if I install the nightly or these one, have the kernel included?, or do i have to install the kernel? (and how??? these step is done with flashtool right?)

Yes hou have had the wrong CWM. Herewith you can install (Flash=same) every rom you want (build for LOCKED BOOTLOADER)! Forget it with the kernel. On locked bootloader you cannot install any other kernel. The kernel you need for a rom is included in the rom!
And again: When you flash a new rom - read the instructions from the OP :fingers-crossed:
Cheers.

Hi guys, i have a small question.
I have installed back in august in gf's X8 kuya droid and i want to replace it with CM7.1 official. i am kinda lost with unlocked bootloaders and the rest, phone is now rooted with latest kuyadroid xrecovery and CWM 3.XX in it.
As i have it in my mind, the process is to install the new CWM 4.XX in xrecovery and then boot into CWM and flash CM7.1 as normal (wipe data/cache/dalvik and then install zip from sdcard).
Or do i have to do something else ? i also have a backup of the original rom, do i need to restore this and then flash CM?
thank you for your time

OK, you need to first unlock your bootloader by following the guide linked below (It is a lot easier than it lookas at first glance, so dont be too scared about it);
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225
Unlocking the bootloader is the hard part, once you're past this you're laughing.
Now jumping ahead a bit....
Once the phone has an unlocked bootloader, all that is left to do is flash a custom kernel and loader (loader and bootloader being different things as the guide explains). Note that all the the custom kernels have CWM already built in as part of the kernel so you wont need to worry too much about that. Once done, flash the rom and GApps Enjoy super fast Android OS.
NOTE: I had problems using the FlashTool provided by the guide, instead I used the most recent version of FLashTool which is easily found via google.
Good luck!
If you need any further help either reply here or PM me!
Good luck!

If by "CM7.1 official" you mean the Shakira ROM by the FreeXperia project that's for download on the CyanogenMod website I strongly advise you against it.
The ROM is buggy as hell, feature incomplete AND the "too low volume on calls" hasn't ever been fixed.
If you want to take the trouble to install a custom ROM that needs a custom Kernel I'd rather recommend you nAa's MiniCM7 2.1.9 ROM and nAa v11 Kernel.
Take my word that the FXP CM7 Shakira ROM isn't worth the time and effort.

Agreed. I'm running the latest MiniCM7 build with nAa Kernel; It's amazingly stable... B.Jay you're so efficient and helpful.... thumbs up! You've already helped me today and I see you're back helping others!
yeah, i did some research and found that cm7.2 official sucks big time.
I have decided to install kuya's latest 4.5.4 rom, thing is that when i flashed 3.2.175 it installed xrecovery and cwm 3.XX simultaneously, i mean if you choose to reboot it gives you two options
-boot into xrecovery
-boot into CWM
i dont know if 4.5.4 version can be flashed with CWM 3 version or xrecovery, dev. wont mention.
I can even find CWM 4.xx version for this phone, damn....
I have never upgraded CWM version 3 to 4, any guides on how to do it?

You can flash kuyaDROID 4.5.4 with either version of the recoveries, though using CWM is recommended.
About "CWM and xRecovery": Be glad that you have both as CWM version 3.x.x.x has a bug that creates defective backups. Meaning: you can restore a backup you created, but chances are that your device won't boot. Creating a backup through xRecovery is the safe fall-back here.
At any rate - puppet13th, creator of the "x8Toolbox" and "ODEX (on any ROM)", is currently attempting to make CWM 5 work. I already gave a beta-test version a try, but it locked up at the Sony Ericsson logo.
In short: See the dual recovery installation as a welcome gift, not something that "gives you two reboot options you don't want to have".
Hi, I have flashed many roms in other devices and is the first time it happens to me and i don´t know why.

I can assure you there is nothing wrong with the rom as I have personally used that rom as well as many others. Having said that, I will ask you to do all the necessary steps to install a rom.
1. flash stock via odin.
2. root your phone and flash cwm 5.
3. boot into recovery, do factory reset, cache wipe, dalvik wipe and format system in mounts and storage.
4. check the md5 sum of the rom for it's integrity and then copy it to sd.
5. flash the rom. reboot system.
first boot will take a bit of time. after setting everything reboot. your phone will boot just fine. have patience though. booting may take time. whatever happens, you should not be in bootloop now because rom is okay. good luck:good:

Hello XDA community.
I own an XSP. It's laggy, crashes randomly every now and then, and in general it is a subpar experience. So at long last i am thinking of flashing a custom ROM on it, but the thing is i am a complete newb. I have been looking into it a lot and i familiarized myself with the general steps of a flash but i cant seem to decide between all the roms. Right now i am leaning towards BlissPop 3.5.
So, tell me if the blisspop is a good choice and if it is worth it to transition from the stock rom to a custom rom.
Also i couldn't find a good recovery for xperia sp (TWRP doesn't seem to support SP). Finally, in case i regret my decision, how easy is it to restore the SP to its original stock rom and default configuration?

BlissPop 3.5 have old sources ....and the ROM support is very low ....you can go to AICP...OWN ROM...CM12.1 for sure (just choose one or read their threads to know more)
TWRP is supported ....just flash the t-kernel with fastboot mode and you will have twrp recovery ...then reboot to recovery and flash a ROM from above
it's easy to get back to stock ... :silly:
methods
1- there is a stock-based ROMs but optimized which a good choice and can be flashed easily by any recovery
2-just flash a stock ftf ROM with flash-tool to get your phone all the way back to original factory lunch

CM12.1 was my 2nd choice. My 1st choice was based on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/general/5-0-2-lollipop-rom-reviews-t3093338
Also i couldn't really grasp the instructions on the CM12 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/orig-development/5-1-1-cyanogenmod-12-1-t3096100
The part about the "updated recovery" confused me.
thx for the info. Also T-kernel is the tangerine custom kernel? Does it have any issues with CM12?

yes it is tangerine custom kernel .....no issues with cm12.1 ROM just read the tangerine kernel carefully
Ok. just a small clarification of the steps. At the CM thread the instructions are like this:
Instructions:
- Install updated recovery (see 2º post)
- Boot into Recovery
- Full Wipe (dalvik, system, data, cache)
- Flash Rom
- Flash Gapps (optional)
- Reboot
A the first step if i flash tangerine will i be covered?

There's a thread in Android Development with a ZIP incliding twrp, philz and cwm. Install this and you have a recovery that works easily and can be installed easily. It's another method than the one the others recommended, but it worked for me everytime.

make sure u already unlock bootloader if not go here
if u wanna use recovery from T-kernel u should flash stock fota with flashtool, stock fota n T-kernel can be found here
if u just want latest twrp with f2fs support can be found here but u should flash it with rashr(from playstore)
now u should be able to flash the roms that T-kernel support eg. cm12.1, if u flash cm12.1 make sure u flash T-kernel zip after u flash rom, cause cm12.1 rom has it own kernel in its installer
Hi All,
was trying to install cm11 and cm12 on n7000 bt it failed i had installed philwz custom recovery with that it gave me error
i had bricked my device bt now i have managed to install the stock rom
my device is rooted need help in installing cwm recovery so that i can install cm11 or cm12 or any other rom
how do i install cwm tried many ways.. need flash files to install it with odin
also i searched in forums bt am confused regarding kernal and all

Thank u very much.
I think you're in the wrong section. anyway,
1. if you're still on stock recovery, try install Philz kernel(search in the forum) for your stock ROM, Install it using update function in the stock recovery.
2. reboot to recovery again, you'll have philz recovery (but it's outdated for flashing android KK and above ROM, but you have to install it first since it pass the stock recovery verification) then flash kernel that compatible with android KK n android L.
3. then reboot to recovery again, and finally install your cm11 or 12 ROM and the following Gapps they provide
I Tried that bt still not able to find the correct version for my mobile if you guide me for the proper link/ direct link i can provide all the information required
thanks
You can find it following this:
3.flash PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 (http://d-h.st/OTu) to get cwm recovery by using odin or mobile odin (To download click the blue Download now button)

Hi guys! I have a question. I have twrp that I installed with the help of advanced stock kernel. But it doesn't look like a permanent recovery. If I install a custom ROM without a recovery, I will lose my recovery. Can you help me install a permanent recovery on my phone. ?
I have tried flashing using flashtool and it only boots into twrp and not android.....
Thanks !

The reason you lose recovery when installing a new ROM is because TWRP is built in Advanced Stock Kernel, and when you flash for example SLiMM ROM it reflashes its kernel.
That means that every time you install a new ROM you will need to reflash the kernel.

Don't worry, Im going to close the thread now . The problem was that i cannot flash the kernel on roms like PA or CM without getting a bootloop, but i managed to find out how to flash a recovery to the recovery partition and then enter it using a key combo, and it works quite well, perfect for my needs!
Thanks anyway!:good:
