Is it normal that my new microsd 64gb really only have 59gb?

Yes. They round up to 64gb. Lol sometimes I feel ripped off because of that. Like when you buy a 32gb sd card, you get about 27-29gb usable.
try getting the 128GB SanDisk and only see 117GB free space after formatting.....

1 k is 1024 bytes. 1 Meg is 1024 k. 1 gig is 1024 m. So the card is 64000000000 bytes so because you computer sees it as 1024000000 per gig that will show less than you want. Also the fat takes up some space as well.
Kinda rough explanation. But should help you Google it if you want more.

Hi All,
I have a 512 MiniSD and i want to upgrade. So i wonder What is the maximum capacity Mini SD I can use smoothly with my Wizard. I don't want something to slow the device or make it freeze.
thanks
my 2gb miniSD works fine...£33 too
i am using a 2 gig and it works good
thanks for the reply, do you recomend any specific brand or they are all the same
ATP are supposed to be good--waterproof and claim to be faster than other miniSD cards. I read a few posts here about them a few months ago and bought one--haven't had any problems. I don't have another miniSD card to compare the read/write speed, and I don't make a habit of giving my Wizard a bath so I can't vouch for the waterproofness either...
i bought a sandisk 2 gb. works great for me.
Has anyone try a 4gb or more? I'm thinking of buying a 4gb sd.

There are no 4GB miniSDs yet; right now, the biggest available is 2GB.

dude there is NO 4gb CARDS for minisd. If so....link me and prove me wrong.
4Gb miniSD being advertised...but are reg SD...
I ordered and received one....after a pretty easy search and finding several.....I was unsure when ordered and, sure enough, now have yet another regular SD card for one of the cameras, etc.
I'm sure they are coming out - and possibly some actually already have them, but at $115 a shot for a flakey, poorly advertised seller (mine was a previously good company, CellMem.com - which I had bought other things from over the last few years - but they sent a regular SD.) (No, I hate sending things back, so I just can store even more sitlls on my camcorder or digicam I don't use enough....)
Hell, none of the physical stores even had the 2Gb mini when I looked and only started having the 2Gb full sized a month back.
Give it six months and we'll be swimming in 150X 4Gb mini's for $80....and the rumors *then* will be the coming 250X 8 or 16....assuming that's feasible, of course - six months later if not....
Now I need to go get a 2Gb and a handful of cheapy 128's, 256's or 512's for ROM backup and "'xperimentin'".....and replace this DINOSAUR 1Gb I have from Circuit City (which you couldn't get 18 months ago... ) )
OEM Brand 2gig MiniSD here works great too and at $34, works real good. 4gigs comming soon I am sure.
Just wish the developers of WM5 software made better use of the storage.
Transcend 2GB (80x / SLC) works great just out of the box (no format needed)!
Same Transcend 512MB (80x / SLC)...
Regards

See? There ya are! The price is incredible too - $45ish
bought singly (much less than price for 1Gb in even cheaper stores).....things change so fast....even the mfg doesn't list those or even the 2Gb!
http://www.adata.com.tw/adata_en/product_detail.php?ProductNo=106
....notice they also didn't even change the labels on the package all the way - hope it isn't a "Photoshop New Offering" hehehe - the pic still shows 60X, not 150X...
Has anyone used these guys before themselves? The names are so familiar with so many of these...
I guess I'll give one of these a try - maybe throw in one of their cheapy 4Gb ipodoids too.....
....why oh WHY! couldn't I have just stuck with buying cars and guns and parts and accessories for those! - now back into electronics!!!!

Hi,

Thanks!

May i recc you use amazon or ebay?
Should find some holiday sales or better prices on new years.

Nope, 16GB is limit...The G1' hardware limits it to 16 only, but the card will really have 14Gbs on it not 16...Just like 8gb card has like 7Gbs on it.
It will do 16GB, in theory 32GB as well, but I have yet to see a MicroSD 32GB Class 6 SDHC card, and I just did a google search and didn't see anything either.
For the OP, also check out your local Radio Shack. I was in need of an SD card in a pinch, right here right now, because mine went bad and was causing some bad flashes, and thus needed to fix it ASAP so I could get my phone working right again.
Anyway, they had Sandisk Mobile Ultra cards on sale, and I was able to get the elusive class8 4GB card for $12. Sandisk didn't make them for very long, the performance difference between class6 and class8 is very, very small, and not worth the premium if it isn't on sale.
If they don't have any great buys like I was lucky enough to get (I would have ordered one off the internet when I got home if I hadn't been so lucky) get a class 6 8gb card off the itnernet. Great deal on a lot of memory. If you really are going to use more than 8gb, then go ahead and get a 16gb, but in all honesty the only way you would go over 8gb is if you refuse to add and REMOVE music/videos/pics from you SD card.

I thought it was just a software "limit" and that 1.6+ supports the 32gb out of the box?

Ah your right...Just like Xp cant read cards bigger than 8GB natively while vista/7 can read all sizes. But then again im on hero(1.5) guess that doesnt support 32GB cards.
But i would prefer he saves that money if he plans on getting a new andro
i think i will go with 16gb...seems to be more than enough...not willing to order one off the net only to find it doesnt work...anyone see any good deals on a 16gb card? this was the best i could find...

Much better deals. Amazon will not scam you that is a trustful dealer.
If you have a microcenter near you, they usually have great deals too. Also on the web.
my transcend 8gb C6 actually has 7.65gb usable space.

I think i will go with the SanDisk 8 or 16Gb class 6 one.
As far fetched as it sounds, it is possible to have dual Micro SD's? I would think not, but if a dual sim hack/mod exists, who knows..........
I should be specific that I am asking about the TMO_US model.

32 is plenty, but, being the owner of multiple 16, I could definitely make use of such an adapter for my device. Besides, 32GB is waaaay expensive when you already own 4 or more 16GB cards. Some one will find a way the same way some one figured using two sims in one slot.......

i wouldn't mind abit of extra bulk on the back of my hd2 if someone wouldn't mind wiring up one of those snazzy toshiba 320gb 1.8" HDD's
no, seriously though, there must be space in there to accomodate an extra card...

The class is the speed you can write and read on the card. Class 10 supports speed up to 10 MB/s while class 2 can only do 2 MB/s
One more thing that card is a fake, nowadays Ebay is full of fake cards.
The genuine have a Serial number printed at the Front, the fakes don't have real 32 gb you can test with H2testw
[edit] here's a real one HERE for 22.99£
Noticed some members said that the tab doesnt work properly with some SD cards. So I would like to ask first b4 i waste money into something that i cant use.
I need a SD card with minimum capacity of 64GB, 128GB would be nice. And the read/write speed need to as fast as possible(slightly faster than what the tab can do should be ok).
Please suggest me 1, and let me know what i should avoid too when picking, thanks.
Did loads of research before buying this one.
Good reviews for this card. Excellent price and works very well. Take AMAZON reviews with a pinch of salt as they dont always relate to the actual product!

First time had some problems transferring files from pc to Tab S, but after a format in the Tab S it's working perfect for the last three months.
