The zip file you have must have an error in it.
Here is a direct download link for cf-autoroot for N910T v2.8.1.1:
http://tinyurl.com/jwoxrma
I just tested this zip file and it's perfect, no errors in it.
The one you have has some kind of error in it for sure.
Good luck!
Have a great evening!

If you have 3 files after extracting (CODE,MODEM,CSC) then attach these three files as PDA=CODE , PHONE=MODEM, CSC=CSC, if you have one file the attach it in PDA,
Then UnCheck Re-partition,
no need to select Pit file,
Put your phone in download mode,
Attach phone to PC
Once your PC detects your Phone Click Start
After Flashing Device restarts twice. Done..

Remember using PC Odin to update, you are closing way to Root your device, If you want to Root it, just Root before it. See installation guide on my signature for further detail

Thanks for your advice and the guides which are very helpful. I've downloaded the German stock ROM (LA4) from your list but I've been unable to extract the tar file using Winzip, so I'm stuck at the moment. Any further help from anyone how to extract the files would be appreciated.

[Q] CMW not installed after after LA4 root + nulls on Samsung Keyboard

Appreciate any help on the 2 questions below:
Rooted using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1462309. Followed the steps to the letter. As a total noob, I found this easiest to follow.
1. I now have no CMW (only Samsung Recovery when I reflash), I did not have flash CMW as an option in Mobile Odin Pro when I upgraded to LA4, but though it was OK.
2. The samsung keyboard letters come up as "null" when I type. I have tried to reflash the Cache as Dr. Ketan suggested, but have no CSC file. Reflashing all of the md5 does not repair the keyboard.
Many thanks for any input.
Download This
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=867766&d=1327254155
Extract it
Now execute, i m already rooted
connect your device to PC (usb debugging shud be on, unknown source shud ON, close kies/firewall/antivirus if running)
click any key after connecting device
in few second it shud be done
Now you shud have CWM.
flash cache with CWM
Hope everything shud be fine after that.
I have a sample problem. I followed instruction using Mobie Odin Pro to flash LA4. I got null null error. Your instruction said that go to Cache and select CSC and reflash. LA4 file was only single file. I am not sure what to pick.
Also, I followed an instruction here.
As soon as I hit Enter, I had a message saying that "The system can not find specified path."
You said that Put zImage file into zImage FOLDER. Do I have to create this folder? Then where?
Sorry for silly questions.
Thank you.
If you getting null keyboard error, flash la4 with mobile odin. Restore only system and cache. First open mobile odin, select la4 file, select ok, select modem and select clear. Now flash the firmware.

I tried as you suggested. Basically, only clearing Modem. I am still getting null error for the keyboard. I must be doing something wrong.
Dont clear hidden. Clear 'only' modem. It worked for me.
Extract single file one level deep, get cache.img n put to SD card
select 'cache' from mobile odin, point to above said file n Flash

Whenever I had null keyboard error some files in system folder were missing. There was only build.prop file. Not csc and other two.

Get it by extracting ROM file(1 level deep).
Alternatively use multi CSC file to flash, attached here.

Don’t give me a fish, teach me how to fish.
I would like to help you fishing but I'M NOT RESPOSIBLE IF YOU ENDED BY CACHING A SHARK
I had downloaded a rom with removed bootloader from annson08 thread, by opening the .tar archive i noticed that he did just removed the arm11boot file from the package nothing else.
so maybe removing this file from your ROM and flashing it like usual will do the trick
Do It At Your Own Risk
Unpack rom..search bootanimation.zip.....replace with any other of ur choice
....repack

i know that he just removed arm11boot but when i did that with many method i didn't succed to add it to "odin multi downloader" it crashs every time when i add the new file without bootloader i think that is not just unpack, remove and repack there is something special to make odin fish a fish not a shark

Edit: no, I couldn't find it...

yeah i used cygwin too but i failed to make the output file work on odin!!!
i used this method from yagya:
Code:
cd firmware_directory
// Goes inside firmware directory
tar -cf firmware_name.tar amss mibib oemsbl qcsbl boot.img recovery.img system.rfs csc.rfs
// This will create a tar_file named firmware_name.tar containing all the files mentioned afterwards. You'll need to check if all files except arm11boot are included or not and add (or remove) to or from above list.
md5sum firmware_name.tar >> firmware_name.tar
// Checks md5sum of the tar file.
mv firmware_name.tar >> firmware_name.tar.md5
// Renames the firmware file. The outcome of this is your flashable zip file.
[optional] gzip firmware_name.tar.md5
//zips the firmware_name.tar.md5 file as gz format. It is easier while sharing the file since it reduces the file size by almost 50 %.
you did everything correct but the problem of Odin crashing is its a md5 file then you remove the arm11boot md5 of file changes which makes the Odin crash
steps to correct it:-
1. extract everything from package
2. delete arm11boot
3. then download a software which can create a tar package
4. with that software create an empty tar package
5. put all the files in that tar package
then then you are ready to flash

[Q] Trying to root and I'm stck, Odin can't see the .tar.md5 file

Hi guys, I'm trying to root by following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147852&highlight=root
So I downloaded everything from the links given there (Odin 3.04 and the cmw file. However when I'm on step 9
9- press the PDA button and select the unziped file from step (1)
Click to collapse
I click on PDA and the cmw file doesn't show in the location I left it. I tried moving it to desktop but doesn't work either. Any ideas please?
Thanks a lot
The CWM file's extension is .img, isn't it?
Sent from Tapatalk on my GT-I8190 running MaclawStudio's Carbon 4.4.2
Did you do unzip
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda app-developers app
No, I hadn't, see here I'm confused. Step 1 says unzip, but Step 9 says select unzipped file, so which should it be?
To decide, I did a little research and found out Odin should open .tar and .tar.md5 files directly, so I figured it wasn't necessary to unzip.
Anyway it doesn't find it either way, I just tried unzipping but I can't find the .img file with Odin either =/ What am I doing wrong?
.rsrc folder
One more thing, when I try to open the Downloads folder where I left the .tar file, all I can see through Odin is this .rsrc folder that apears to be empty.
Try to download it again
And unzip it
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda app-developers app
Solved!
Thank you both, I figured it out! I know it's dumb...but I didn't realize you had to run everything in Administrator mode (apparently). I tried this and it worked, it seems I was running Odin as Admin but in a non-Admin account and the files were hidden or something...
Anyway, sorry to bother you with my dumb question, but I hope this can help another dumb noob like me!
I'm ridiculously happy with my brand new CM 11 now, time to play with it!

Rooting Tab A SM-P555 - correct .tar file?

Hi, I downloaded the zip folder: sm-t550_p550_p555_cf-autoroot. When I open it there is no .tar file, only cache.img.ext4 and recovery.img. I've rooted several times before and have normally had no issues following the xda links to the .tar files.
Sorry if I'm being a dumbo, help appreciated.
Root TAB A
Don't unzip or open. Copy for ur SD or internal. After, flash the zip (sm-t550_p550_p555_cf-autoroot) with TWRP. And Voilà! I hope I helped you :good:
