GApps Lollipop 12/13/14 - ONE Themes and Apps

I know there are other GApp packages for lollipop but they don't have the complete setup the Nexus 6 has. This one removes the AOSP versions of apps replacing with the Google equivalent. It also removes a few of the CM extra apps like term, apollo, etc. Everything is updated as of 12/13/14. Just doing this till TKruzze gets his much better GApp package updated.
Also, here's a lollipop boot animation and google movie fix. All three back themselves up so you don't need to reflash between nightlies.

I wonder if there will be a xxx-gapps-rom.zip for the 8.9" version soon?
Cool, as soon as I figure out how to get supersu on the hdx ill give this a try! Thanks for working on it!

That would depend on there being a SafeStrap for the 8.9" version soon
This works great on my tablet BTW. Thanks!
Hmmm looks like I might be the first one to try this out. I'm downloading now and I'll report back when it's finished.
Update: Installed the ROM and immediately hit the Play Store. Tried to add an existing Google account but it caused a reboot. Right now I'm stuck on the calculator since I have no nav buttons
Update 2: Tried to enable Wifi, got another reboot.
I'm going back to my stock ROM slot for now, being unable to use the Nav buttons makes this a bit difficult.
Installed and working perfectly. So far everything but gmail works, and works really well. thanks Cpasjuste.

The problem can only comes from the data partition. Did you try to first restore your stock data partition then flash the zip ?

Just tried it. ( Restoring data, flashing the zip).
I can see my apps from my stock ROM so I know the data restore was successful. I'm still missing the nav bar and Play Store still results in a reboot.
EDIT: Just tried it a second time and it seems to be working.
So unlike your flashable zip for the stock firmware this ROM gets rid of the Amazon Video App correct. Amazon video has Prime Instant Video Offline Downloading and that is a killer feature for me. Anyway to sideload that stock APK and have it work?
Here's a video of the end result

It does say it removes ALL Amazon background services, so, Sideloading probably will not work, at least not enough for the app to recognize this as a Kindle.
i can't long press anything with this rom... it just flips the screen around. can't get to the apps settings either. also, games like shadowrun always are upside down.

I use Nova launcher and long press works fine. Hungry Shark Evo always starts upside down for me but I guess unlock rotation lock, get it right then relock and it's fine. It's a pain but works. Only that game does that to me so far. Not sure why...
Soooo.... I installed and this was working OK, but random reboots. So I went ahead and wiped dalvik. Now I've got a bootloop. Is there a way to access safestrap?
***edit-fixed*** adb reboot got me into safestrap

The screen flip only happens in landscape mode, not portrait.
Temporary work around is turn on the "lock orientation" in the notification area (left most button), then it won't flip.
A slightly better work around is smart-rotator app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.xdevelop.rotator_t&hl=en
Turn on fix orientation for the apps you want to "fix".

TIP to improve ram management and battery life on Android 4.3

Hi guys i find a tip to improve ram management and battery life on my XV running Android 4.3. Just flash Gapps 4.4.4 via CWM in this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/standard-minimal-gapps-t2012857
Flash GApps Minimal 4.4.4 and then restart. Thanks and report if it help
Hmm ram management looks much better now i can multitask and clash of clans dosn't reload after sms send its just awesome les take a look in to battery usage
How does that differ from Gapps provided with stock?

yes, with newer Google framework than stock
After battery test i can say its much better now when i dont use phone it goes to deep sleep battery are better just need see what about ower nigt use .
While I like the idea of flashing fresh new GApps over the stock rom, but I checked the versions of some Google apps on my devices:
Xperia T Android 4.3 (stock)
GMail (com.google.android.gm): version 4.9 (1271612)
Google Play Services (com.google.android.gms): version 5.0.89 (1307510-036)
Google Services Framework (com.google.android.gsf): version 4.3-757479
LG V500 Android 4.4.4 (CM11 latest nightly with PA GApps)
GMail (com.google.android.gm): version 4.9 (1271612)
Google Play Services (com.google.android.gms): version 5.0.89 (1307510-036)
Google Services Framework (com.google.android.gsf): version 4.4.4-1227136
GMail and GMS seem to be identical, however both devices have GSF versions clearly respective to their Android version, and I'm not sure it's a good idea to flash a 4.4.4 GSF on a 4.3 phone.
1. Can anyone who has the 4.4.4 GSF flashed on a 4.3 device confirm that it's running the new version?
2. If you see battery improvement, which app has consumed less battery?

Well... it's not. I'm running stock 4.3 .205 build on my Xperia T and the GSF is 4.3-757479.
However, apart from most of the people here, I don't see any differences in comparison with all Google libs, apps and files left intact (provided with stock ROM). No "better battery life" or "better RAM management"... I think it's a placebo effect. Well.. at least for me.
Same here. It appears opinions are based on assumptions newer being better.
Google Play services from 5.x onward will not have better fuel consumption. Just watch the amount of wakelocks and location calls it produces. To me 4.x is the compromise at the moment, on KK and on 4.3.
The Google Play services stock version of 4.3 is actually 3.1.59, but it self-updates faster then I can say 1-2-3 when I access Play Store for the first time. Also, several 3. party apps have version checking and will refuse working at all with 3.1. Not that the functionality of these 3. party apps would be lost if they run with 3.1 or lower, but if version check does not find the latest version of Google Play services it will let the user not access the app.
BTW. There are a number of included original apps that self update soon, and then available RAM and internal space are getting a blow. Either phone makers need to address this by hardware solutions, or the devices should be fully functional and without crippled or old OEM versions which are just there to give users the impression that plenty resources are available.
That's amazing!! That's really helpfull!
I've been trying this tip for 2 days and I actually don't see any ram improvement

Yes, it works like a charm just flash the zip file in the custom recovery and then the Aroma installer UI appears and later on it's self explanatory.
I did it on latest Feb 2017 security update (N4F26O) on Stock Android
Just a quick note, seeing this is still a recurring thing, anytime I flash OpenGapps aroma version, the apps that are excluded are automatically removed from the rom after the aroma zip is flashed. So aroma package also functions as a debloater.
If you have no scripts or don't know what to do, using Aroma OpenGapps has been a good alternative option for me.

AOSP apps remover v1.2 | Android 7.x | 11/08/16

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked devices or other issues.
For all of you who likes clean ROM and hate duplication between system and user apps folders this tool will help. This will remove all defaults AOSP apps except launcher and keyboard. I suggest after removing to install pico version of gapps or all of this will not make much sense. Also boot animation will be gone, trim it to the bone
For everything else you may need use Play Store. This way upgrading existing apps will not make any duplicates.
Please don't hesitate to post if you like to see some more apps to be included in this remover.

I've noticed this too on my Nexus 6 regardless of ROM- Google Camera does not show up in the PlayStore. Like others have mentioned if you sideload the apk from somewhere like apkmirror it will work. Alternatively you can try clicking on this direct link from your Nexus 6 and it should hopefully take you to the play store with google camera displayed- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.GoogleCamera

I ran this while doing a clean install of Pure Nexus. Zips flashed in TWRP in this order: 1) Pure Nexus, 2) Full GAPPS (linked from Pure Nexus), 3) B14CKB1RD kernel, 4) phh's superuser, 4) 320 dpi, 5) AOSP apps remover. Google camera was available on first boot. ?
Two possible AOSP app oversights: AOSP keyboard (risky, I get it), and AOSP spell check (part of keyboard app?).
No problems experienced after booting into ROM and getting everything setup to taste. This is now a go-to/must have flash for me. Thanks!

Yeah, on 7.1.1 right now. The Pure Nexus FAQ clued me into these flashables. Adjusting the display size may confuse the DPI change, but a reflash of the DPI zip fixed it for me in 7.0 (and I haven't messed with it in 7.1.1).

Go into settings/apps then click on the cog in upper right corner. Now set your current diaper app as default for phone. This should fix your problem.
any chances to do a flashable zip that could work in all devices?

Pure Nexus : Google Camera

Pure Nexus ver 7.1.2_r17. Beans Gapps 610. I tried to download the Google Camera but unfortunately it isn't listed in Play store. Trying to load it from Mirror APK it tells me that it isn't supported for my device. I have tried a couple of different versions but still the same message. I was wondering if anyone has come across this with this particular ROM. I have searched but can't seem to find anything.

Mini or full? Install the full package to get the camera. Also, don't use 6/10 but 5/9. 6/10 has issues.
Try this then, it's the latest Google Camera for N6

Here it is in the play store
Just to clarify for the benefit of the audience, the OP is saying he cannot see the Google Camera in the Play Store. He's right. Google hides the app in the Play Store if it isn't already installed on the device. This is in addition to the requirement that the device be a Nexus or Pixel. Thus, if Google Camera is important to you, and with HDR+ I feel it should be, install the full Banks GApps package instead of the mini package. After doing so, Google Camera should show up on the Play Store again.
Of course, installing the APKMirror copy of Google Camera may also work, but I haven't tried it.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't think of it that way but that makes complete sense. In the future I will install the Full instead of the Mini to avoid this issue. The Mini was install this time around because of issues with the Full version June 10th.
The reason I keep that link is it allows me to use the mini package, when the only additional app I want in the full is the camera. Works every time. Different strokes for different folks ☺
True. The one difference between installing it through the Play Store and installing it using Beans GApps is where the camera gets installed. With Beans GApps the camera is in /system, rather than /data.
I wonder why Beans hasn't done an Aroma installer? It would mean only having to make one package, and would give the end user some control over what apps are installed.

It has something to do with the build script. It's referred to in the current TBO release post.
Having read what you linked to, that seems interesting. I've dabbled with Aroma, and I think the issue boils down to Beans' usage of just an updater binary, like what Chainfire uses in SuperSU.
There are kludgy ways to get around this, but as I install the full package anyway I'm not going to try and find out.
Speaking of GApps, did Beans ever get the issues with the 6/10 package resolved?

From numerous posts referencing Beans and other GApps with much confusion, I think it comes down to Beans using a unified package and script for both arm and arm64 that simplifies things for him (not to mention the less informed user ).
He helped the TBO guys adapt the unified arm/arm64 script and they are abandoning Aroma, so my guess is the two are not compatible.
