Not much info here. Are you on a custom ROM or are you stock? What software & firmware version do you have? HK or non HK version M8? S-on or S-off?

What firmware version do you currently have? You can go to Menu>Settings>About>Software info>More and see what your baseband is. Your baseband is your firmware version.

Thanks. Doesn't look like it's your firmware causing the issue, as it matches the software version. Have you checked the Insert Coin ROM thread to see if other users have had this issue?

I checked that thread (not thoroughly) but didn't find anyone having this issue.
Moreover, I am unable to use any RUU for as I always get the error 155 "Please get the correct ROM Utility and try again" (Screenshot attached)
I have tried - RUU_M8_WHL_K44_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_Harman_2.16.654.4_R2_Radio_1.08.20.0612_4_NV_SPCS_1.52_003_release_384670_signed_2

Re-Locked bootloader and was able to run RUU however, Airplane Mode still says "Turning Off"
Sounds like a hardware issue.

Even I started thinking same way but it wasn't hardware issue.
I used ##786# to reset the phone completly (it did asked me my MSL/SPC) and everything was wiped from the phone. ( I am sure this reset is different from normal factory reset)
now my phone is up and I can toggle Airplane Mode On & Off however now there is another thing which I came accross
1. No roaming option or extended options in "Mobile Data" option under Wireless & Settings
2. No Network Sharing option
Even tried after running RUU_M8_WHL_K44_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_Harman_2.16.654.4_R2_Radio_1.08.20.0612_4_NV_SPCS_1.52_003_release_384670_signed_2

I had the same problem on my M9. I tried a factory reset and switching on and off the phone and leaving the phone switched off for a period of time. (all advice from other sites). The only thing I found to work, was to switch the phone off, remove the sim card, switch the phone back on and re-insert the sim with the phone switched on. This issue has occurred three times in the eight or so months of having the handset and this has worked for me each time.
This is the solution

Just got my Tmobile SGT last week and wanted to make it different from all my friends that had one. For the moment it was the talk of the crowd when it was running Gingerbread and unlocked to the network and running a bunch of nonsense/useless apps that made people laugh for hours. Well, somehow I ended up bored and ended up flashing it back to stock tmobile. Well, now it does not connect to the carrier and the power button just restarts the whole damn thing. And also it will not go into recovery nor download mode either. Can anyone guide me in the right direction to make it work like how it did before I owned it??? Thanks.
Strange if your tab boots into gui but you cannot go into recovery or dl mode.......
Today again I started tinkering with it and got it back running correctly. I ended up rooting it with z4root then put CWM Recovery to gain back the ability to get into recovery and dl mode. Yay! And so.... I ended up flashing it again, but this time used Overcome-Gingerbread and followed the directions CAREFULLY. Everything turned out just fine and dandy except I still cant connect to the service carrier. I think this happened when I removed the sim network lock thing. Any advice pls?

did you flash the correct modem?
Yup, I used the TMobile US one.
Okay I think I might be wording this wrong...
Noticed in the status screen it shows "T-Mobile" under Network and "In Service" under Service State. Meaning I am connecting to my carrier, correct??? And also TMobile shows up on the top right corner when on the lock screen.
But when I try to browse the Internet it returns with pop up "No network connection Unable to load page. Internet not connected."
Mmmm your APN settings are correct?
Yep! Even try a few different ones also.

In light of this, I would be pointing fingers at the apn settings, that and silly but check to make sure data is turned on in the settings.
Other than that I'm out of ideas

i believe u must flash your old stock rom CSC or replace it via root explorer .. after u did that ... fire up the dialer .. write *#272*IMEI# then choose your country code
or if you are in euro just forget all this steps and do only the *#272*IMEI# STEP and you'll get your 3g up and work
Hi All ,
My apologies if there is a solution to my problem in another thread. I have spent countless hours looking for a way to unroot my Sprint HTC One because the Sprint network can't seem to activate it until I do. Or I need to figure out a way to force the Sprint network to accept my MDN and MSID which can "sometimes" be problematic with rooted devices. It might be easier to just unroot and see if that helps getting the phone to properly activate.
Other than the network connectivity issues, the phone is fully functional. Just cant make calls or send texts.
I am running this ROM based on benny's system dump: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2467607 so my device information is:
Android version - 4.3
Sense version - 5.0
Software version - benny's 4.3
Kernel version - [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
Baseband version - 1.00.20.0913_3
Build number - 3.04.651.2 CL251863 release-keys
I've tried everything I can think of to get my device unrooted, but none of the RUUs work due to being on hboot 1.55 s-on or having an older firmware version (1.29.xx or 1.39.xx.)
Is there any method I can use to get completely back to un-rooted stock rom with, relocked boot loader (know how to do that part), stock recovery, etc?
I've looked at so many different threads and google searches and all say you need to be s-off and run RUUs of versions that will either cause my touch screen to not work or worse. If anyone can help me it would be amazing and I would be much obliged.
I am having similar issues. I'm about to try this method - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470569&page=3 Read OP and see post#27

Ah yes! The 3.04 version wasn't available the last time I read that post! I can confirm that the other that using the 1.29 and 1.31 versions caused serious issues for me and my phone. This post is actually what led me to learn about the issues due to different firmware and file structure between new and older versions.
I'm downloading now. Let me know how it goes!

It's a bit dated, but I am going to try this method if I can find a 3.04 RUU. Note, he is doing this to an S-On phone, which is what we have. So it SHOULD work:good:
Nothing against the first method I posted, but I'd much rather do a RUU and get a clean slate...
There is no RUU for 3.04 yet ( that I know of)...
this is your best (and pretty much only) option: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46565593&postcount=27
Did you ever find a way to resolve this issue? Also did this start after flashing Cyanogenmod? I have the exact same issue and it seems I have exhausted all available resources. Currently have the following setup:
Android version - 4.3
Sense version - 5.0
Software version - 3.04.651.2
Kernel version - [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
Baseband version - 1.00.20.0913_3
Build number - 3.04.651.2 CL251863 release-keys
Noticed that the phone is unable to update PRL correctly. Version will switch from 00000 to 1 to 55016. I am also unable to commit changes to any EPST settings (which is the first thing sprint tried to do). MDN and MSID both currently say 'no' and I can't update.
I'm having the exact same issue with everything working fine but no calls/texts.
I flashed the Guru reset for 3.04 but still no calls/text.
Any other solutions?

Try the following:
Full wipe. Flash the newest stable CM.
Go into Settings > More... (under Wireless & Networks) > Mobile networks > CDMA subscription:
Confirm the following settings:
Network mode = LTE/CDMA/EvDo
CDMA subscription = NV
After you confirm these settings, switch the network mode to CDMA/EvDo only and then back to LTE/CDMA/EvDO.and give it a minute or so, you should see 3G/Phone availability come back. You can test this by dialing a number. You should be able to make a call, or at least get the default Sprint "device is not activated" recording. After confirming this, you can do another wipe and flash back to a stock ROM. You should now have mobile network connectivity back. You may need to Activate the phone again and update the profile/PRL to get back to 100%.

Hmm. That's pretty much the issue that I had except 4G/Wifi was working and 3G/Call/Text didnt seem to be. You might try switching the CDMA mode to SIM and then back to NV to make sure the setting takes. I know CM can be really finicky with network changes.

You may need to flash a stock rom and manually enter you MDN and MSID using the epst menu
no luck
At this point I have not had any luck solving this issue. I used Guru's reset tool as well and believe the problem is the radio firmware. I spent a good deal of time on the phone with Sprint support and with a surprisingly competent technician in the store. He tried to work with multiple different systems they have available to get the phone to recognize the Sprint towers with no success.
He said that the phone just isn't recognizing them in any way and commented that a phone that isn't activated will still show bars of service because the phone gets the signals from nearby towers, but just doesn't know what to do with the signal until activated. In my case, all I see is the "X" above the signal bar graphic.
If you're experiencing the same issue as me, there is nothing Sprint can do to make the phone recognize their towers based on the conversations I've had. I saw my options as:
1. Wait for an RUU to come out or something like that
2. Try out different ROMs - jjmckaskie suggested the newest CM, but I would think others might be worth trying as well. Basically anything that uses different radio firmware
3. Get a new phone - This is the option I've gone with. Since my phone is running a stock ROM and the guy at Best Buy where my insurance is from, didn't check the bootloader (would have said "tampered" and "unlocked"), he assumed I never voided my warranty and sent out for a refurb. This may not work if your insurance is through Sprint though. I'm not sure how thorough they are.

As a last resort you could also try the hard reset code from your dialer by entering ##72786# . You will need to be on a stock rom. You will also need your MSL code (you can usually get this from Sprint support). This will reset EVERYTHING so be mindful. It will also force a hands free activation/Profile/PRL update after the phone reboots which is sometimes useful.

I still took it to Sprint just to see and they fixed it. Downside is my GPS and LTE is messed up again (Me trying to fix those things is the reason all this happened in the first place) but I'd rather not have GPS than not have phone capabilities on my phone (And LTE in Los Angeles is garbage anyway). I think I'm gonna leave my phone alone for a while tho, lol.

Looks like I am going to go this route. I hit ##72786# and it takes me to SCRTN screen. I'm guessing I just hit menu in the top right, then reset? Then it will prompt me for my MSL code?

Yup. I actually dont remember if it does a full wipe, or just forces an activation/profile/PRL update. But either way it's worth a shot.

Sounds like you solved your issue, but for anyone else having trouble....
I re-tried GURU's reset and it worked. The first time I downloaded it over the 4G network. I also downloaded the OTA over the 4G network. My radio has been giving me fits ever since. Finally, I downloaded GURU's reset over WIFI, then made sure the OTA downloaded over WIFI, and my phone is like new again! No radio issues, everything is perfect. Hope this helps some people...

Try going into *#*#4636#*#* phone info and make sure your radio is set to wcdma preferred. If that don't work just play around with some settings there.

If that doesn't work, you can try flashing firmware. I had the same problem once except it was after I flashed a ROM instead of reset. After a day of researching, i found out I had lost my radio. I dug up the firmware for my phone and flashed it. To test if this solution is for you, reboot into bootloader (turn off completely then turn on while holding volume down), and at the top it should say things like hboot, radio, S-on (or S-off depending if you've done the S-off procedure), etc. If you do not see Radio and a number next to it, then this solution should fix your problem although you say your using Airtel but this forum is for the Sprint HTC One. If you have the sprint htc one, then you can click on this download link. I still have the copy of firmware that fixed my problem on my phone so I uploaded it to Mediafire to make it easier for you. Download it and put it in the root of your phone. Then, boot into recovery, and click install, and find the file I provided and flash it. Then reboot and you should have signal again. PLEASE DO SOME RESEARCH ON THE CORRECT FIRMWARE VERSION FOR YOUR PHONE because I dont know the exact model of your phone. The reason I say this is because you can SEVERELY DAMAGE YOUR PHONE if you flash the wrong firmware and I AM NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR PHONE. This firmware is for my Sprint HTC One 32gb U.S. sim card. Hope this helps. Download link: https://www.mediafire.com/?ybl9j7uztu3i1ae
Hi guys, my HTC one is recently caught up in this weird problem that I couldn't find a way to describe it. It was working flawlessly before this and after few months it starting to encounter this stupid problem. My phone couldn't detect my sim card and always rebooting itself after 1 or 2 minutes. The sim card is working fine in another phone, I navigated to *#*#4636#*#* and I found out my device will automatically adjust preferred network type to CDMA + LTE/EvDo auto. I only uses WCDMA or GSM, i tried setting it back to WCDMA preferred or WCDMA only, but it's still keep restarting itself. Can I have any help from this? :|

I have a Note 8 N950U that was originally on ATT. It was bootlooping and I got it to work somewhat by flashing the ATT_N950USQS4CRE1_ODIN firmware using the moded odin file. The phone will boot and all seems to work but it will not work on a cellular network. It shows the "no network connection" error and the airplane mode switch is highlighted as if its on but it is not on. I've tried resetting the network settings, reboot with airplane mode on, etc. I also have tried several different working sim cards and all do the same. The phone does recognize the sim because it sees my phone number in the settings.
I recently reflashed the device using the N950USQS5CRG9 firmware, and still have the same issue. the device boots and all seems to work except the cellular network. I also tried different APN settings as well.
I seem to be having trouble with other firmwares because odin will just error out on me. These are the only 2 firmwares that I was able to get to flash. So is this a firmware issue or a hardware issue? I would really like to get this device to work if at all possible. So, any and all help is greatly appreciated.
TIA to all!!!

What version of the bootloader are you currently on now? And did you flash a CSC file from AT&T and then do a factory reset in recovery mode?

I am currently on N950USQS5CRG9 bootloader. And yes, i flashed this CSC file, CSC_OYN_N950UOYN5CRG9_CL13949550_QB19107689_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT, which I believe is an ATT file. I did not do a factory reset in recovery mode after the firmware flashing. The device was factory restored prior to flashing though. THanks for the help, I've been messing with this for a week now...Thanks again.

Try going from CRG9 to N950USQU5CRIA because that could fix the problems.. Download the update.zip from the website put it on your SD card and then boot into recovery mode and select flash update from SD card and let it do its thing after you select the update file.. You have CRG9 still and you'll be able to flash back to it too if you have to for some reason.. The website is here put your model of phone in from the dropdown menu(Note 8) and then the next dropdown menu select your CRG9 firmware and it will give you some updates but take the latest version that's N950USQU5CRIA not the old ones after it flashes try a factory reset again!! OK, went through and did exactly what you said do...the update went through and finished, the phone rebooted, and then I restarted phone and did factory reset, and I went thru the setup and the update did take, but still same issue. Tried 2 different sim cards that work in other devices and still no network connection and airplane mode is still highlighted as if its on. No signal bars just a 0 with a / slash through it.
Any other ideas? Really do appreciate the help. TIA!!

Try this.. From the home screen, tap the settings icon, scroll down until you see General and select it, scroll down until you see the reset option. Select reset. You will be taken to the reset screen. Select Reset Network Settings, if your phone is password protected, enter your code. You will be taken to a new screen confirming your selection.
And the last idea I have is that you have a hardware issue if the above didn't work and there's something broken internally and you need to go to AT&T immediately and have them either replace that phone or call Samsung because there is a 1 year warranty on the phone for free from Samsung and they'll fix it and return it so long as it's not from something you caused, like water or dropping it and breaking it.. Also, where did you get that phone from? Is the IMEI clear?

That's one of the 1st thing i've tried before anything else. It says it resets successfully, but does not fix issue.
Unfortunately, I got this second hand...It worked great until it started boot looping, so returning it, isn't an option. I guess the baseband chip
got messed up some how. Anyways, thanks a million for the help...it was much appreciated.
