Hi All
I recently S-OFFed my Australian carrier branded HTC One and have changed the CID to HTC__039 which is the CID for the unbranded Australian version
What i want to know is before i flash (M7 CWM Nandroid Backup / CID HTC__039 / 2.24.980.2 (Australia Unbranded – Thanks to deeevan)) found on HTC1Guru's thread of Stock OTA, RUU and ZIP files
How do i know if i need to downgrade my HBOOT in order to install this backup using CWM? My HBOOT is currently 1.57

you should always flash the firmware to match the nandroid when possible

So based on the files inside the nandroid backup how do i know if i need to downgrade HBOOT?

just find the 2.x.980.x firmware regardless of your current hboot
Hboot 1.57 = Firmware 6.x - 5.x - 4.x
Hboot 1.56 = Firmware 4.x - 3.x
Hboot 1.54 = Firmware 2.x
Hboot 1.43 - 1.44 = Firmware 1.x
Those are general recommendations not etched in stone

I'm in the UK & have a sim free HTC One.
So I changed my CID to HTC__Y13 to enable me to get the 4.2.2 OTA early then changed it back to HTC__001 & sadly used Revone to S-ON again. I have no English (United Kingdom) setting in the system language, probably because the update wasn't meant for a uk phone, so my thought was to go back to the 1.28.401.7 RUU then update properly now the UK OTA is out. Obviously I can't do this because I have a 1.54 hboot & can't S-OFF again to flash the RUU.
What method can I use to be able to downgrade the hboot to 1.44, S-OFF & flash the 1.28 RUU? Can I unlock bootloader via HTCDev, flash a custom rom with a 1.44 hboot then go back to stock, lock bootloader, S-OFF then flash to RUU? I don't want to try this & wipe my phone if it won't work.
Anyone else figured a way to do it?
Cheers
Tim
From my understanding, there is no way of altering H-boot without S-off. I'm sure someone will cracking 1.55 in the future.

This is correct.
The update WAS for your phone, if a phone is x.xx.401.x in the UK and x.xx.401.x in the Netherlands they get the same OTA
Can you still change your CID? I read someone who lost S-Off but was still able to change to superCID (11111111)

If you aren't afraid to experiment.
That is simple for information, when my phone had leaked 2.17.401.1 ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224752
and
firmware from 2.17.401.1 RUU
from here (second post)

My phone had HBOOT 1.54 and I without problems received S-OFF using alternate revone binary v0.2.1-wlj.
So , you can try this way
1) Unlock booloader
2) Flash latest custom recovery (I had TWRP)
3) Make nandroid backup your system
4) Flash 2.17.401.1 ROM
5) Try to get S-OFF using revone v0.2.1-wlj
I DO NOT guarantee success! If you do it, it is your risk!
basically trying to get s-off on my device i am on hboot 1.54 as i recently updated to sense 4.2.2
CID: ORANG001
MID: PN0710000
version main: 2.24.61.1
now i have rooted with TWRP & wondering if i can use this nandroid to downgrade:
M7 CWM Nandroid Backup / CID ORANG001 / 1.28.61.7 (Orange UK - Thanks to Azzabear)
http://click.xda-developers.com/api... / 1.28.61.7&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13761274174228
would it work & would it downgrade the hboot?
Nandroid won't downgrade hboot.

could i use an older RUU to replace hboot?

Sorry, I've no experience with RUUs - never used one. I would guess it would but since you're S-ON you obviously can't superCID, so you would need to find the proper RUU for your CID.
There is no known way to downgrade an hboot on an s-on device.

Just wondering for my own interest, gunny.. what does an RUU restore? I thought it was stock hboot, firmware, rom, recovery, etc. (everything basically). Or is it just that it can't downgrade even with an RUU if you are S-ON and would need to wait on a new RUU being released? Unless you're S-off and can superCID, then your can run any RUU - and that would downgrade *everything*..
cheers

The RUU is as far as I know a collection of all of the partition images for the phone.
Even with S-off it is not possible to downgrade an HBoot without flashing that HBoot separately. IOW if you are on a 1.54 firmware, in order to flash an RUU containing 1.44 Hboot you have to flash the 1.44 Hboot by itself or else the RUU will fail.
SuperCID (11111111) will pass the CID check
It is my understanding that in the past, S-off meant you could downgrade with just the RUU but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
The RUU install checks a few things
MID and CID
HBoot must be the same or greater version number
if these checks fail, the RUU won't flash even with S-off
The beauty of S-off is, we can flash these things manually without the RUU bypassing the checks.
You can simply use the DD command in a root shell and copy the partitions to the phone, but this is dangerous, because if you put a partition in the wrong location, BRICK.
My knowledge here is not as advanced as many here, so someone please correct me if I got any of this wrong.
.
Hello all XDA,
I am in real need of the RUU to restore my HTC One back to stock, I've looked every where and downloaded everything but not anything close to what is needed.
I am with Vodafone UK (VODAP001)
HBoot = 1.54.0000
Build = 2.24.161.1 CL211355
desperation = 100%
Thanks all
There isn't an RUU available for any 2.24 base, the best you can do is restore a stock nandroid and flash stock recovery, then relock bootloader. Or if you're s-off, get supercid and then flash any RUU available..

I have a T-MOB101 (Germany device HTC One), and i would like to revert it back to stock and sell it.
Read all the guides here at XDA, but couldn't achieve it.
My device now is:
HBOOT 1.54.00
S-Off with SuperCID 11111111
Unlocked bootloader
ARHD 13.4 rom
There isn't any RUU for T-MOB101. I found a CWM stock Nandroid backup but for some reason CWM can't install it.
I've installed the odexed 2.24.401.1 stock rom, reverted the CID back to T-MOB101, locked the Bootloader but now it says RELOCKED instead of LOCKED. And couldn't make it S-On maybe because of the HBOOT 1.54.00?
Please, help me, i would like to sell the device and the future owner don't have any issues with the warranty.
So, unlock your bootloader, go here, download the 1.44 hboot and flash it with the guide.
After, use the revone tool to go locked and s-on

Thanks for the reply Guich.
I'm kinda lost in the above thread.
1) Which Base Firmware should i download for T-MOB101 German device? I would like for it to have automatic updates for the future.
2) After that i will have to download the HBOOT 1.44.0000 Original unmodified, right?
3) In which order should i flash them? It's the same method for both Base Firmware and HBOOT?
4) Lastly, my bootloader now is unlocked with the HTC's method. How i can use the Revone to go Locked and S-On? Also, when should i change the CID to T-MOB101 from SuperCID 11111111?
Excuse me for all these questions, after almost 8 hours in front of the PC with no luck my head's gonna explode..
Thanks a bunch,
Bill

1) I will advise you to transform your T-MOB phone into an unbranded phone.
So, donwload the 1.29 firmware umodified and flash this.
2) Yupp, 1.44 hboot and go s-on and locked
3) Use the guide, i will advice firmware and after hboot.
4) Yup, with 1.44 hboot you can use the revone tool for go to LOCKED and not RELOCKED and s-on
But, before go to s-on, change the cid into HTC__001.
5) If you're tired do this tomoz

Hey Guys, I'd like to know if possiple how to backup my stock firmware of my HTC One M7_U cid: HTC__J15, mainver: 2.24.401.9, S-OFF Hboot 1.54, cause I'm planning to convert to GE but want a safe way back to stock just incase and as you may know 2.24.401.9 doesn't have any RUU or Firmware to fallback to. So any help would be appreciated.
P.S I already have a stock TWRP backup of my stock Rom.
