Put it on internal storage, NOT sdcard. And next time when you have a problem post in Q&A section.

Simply put the root.zip file in your extSD without moving it in any folder just simply move or copy it in your extSD
Enter the recovery (cwm) menu by pressing Vol+ Home and power key and simply flash the root.zip file
You must be on CWM recovery not the stock one

Ohh sorry I did'nt knew it...
I never tried anything with stock recovery and never recommended anyone to use it for flashing purposes thinking that might cause the device to misbehave
Until I'am successful in trying any new thing with my device I don't recommend it to others thinking it may harm his/her device which was the reason I recommended him to be on CWM recovery...
BTW that you senior, I'll remember it in future

Don't appologize for asking questions-we all need answers to one thing or another
The first thing you want to do is go to the android market and search for Rom Manager. You already have this installed if you are running CM7, but you need to update it to the newest version.
Then, Just open your app drawer and open up Rom Manager. When it opens, the very top line says "Flash Clockwork Mod Recovery". Tap on that, choose Nook Color, and it will update to the newest version 3.2.0.1.
Hope this Helps!
What's the best way to update recovery on sdcard? Mod manager only updates the internal flash..

Ok, thanks! So you can indeed copy the files as-is.. with Paleolithic dos 3.2 origin, I tend to expect you need to use special app to copy the system files. In any case, I've installed the boot menu on SD card so by defaults I boot internal flash. No need to lose sanity removing the easy-to-lose usd card.. I can also start the recovery from internal flash..

Yes, I have updated a couple times by just transferring the updated files onto my bootable CWM card. I have done a number of back-ups and restores without a problem. The files are self-contained file systems, so not much damage from a simple transferring of them. If you want to install a special app for windows to be able to update the SD card in the future, then I would download this very handy tool, ImDisk, it will allow windows to mount the updated img file and extract the files from it.
Hello all,
I'm wondering if there's any way of make an image from my phone, with all the softwares and data already installed and configured (just like Macrium Reflect do on Windows). Just like a backup, so if I have any kind of problem, I just have to flash my .zip into the phone again.
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried ClockworkModRecovery?
Fruit cake maker is a better solution for your question. Plus if you name the .zip it creates pg58img.zip and place it on your SD card root. Then you don't even need cwm.

just make a backup through CWM menu, it will backup EVERYTHING on your phone and save to clockworkmod/backup/..... in your sdcard. The backup included few .tar files instead of a single .zip, but the result is the same --- you can restore it (overwrite everything) to your phone at anytime.

When you backup with the recovery menu(power+volume button simultaneously pressed until u see the android picture), you will find this backup files either in the EXT SD card or the Internal SD depending the CWM version, in the clockworkmod/backup. All you have to do is to get into recovery mode and restore.....it works perfectly
It worked!
That was just what I needed!
Many thanks for your help guys....
Hi Guys I am a n0ob and dont have any idea about rooting or anything also read some tutorials about making partitions and all but didnt get how to make partitions on Sd card...so can anyone help me with how can I increase my internal phone memory of my device?
I am using Gt-S5570 mini so someone please help me with this.
Rooting would not be preferred, still if the ultimate option is rooting then let me know proper steps and ROM for rooting which will not brick my cellphone.
Also proper steps to unroot my cell if I face some problem afterwards and which is the most compatible firmware version which will not brick my cell phone? Officially its 2.3.6
Thanks

I don't think rooting will brick it.
Here's are the steps.
Upgrade your device using kies
Download upd_1.zip ad place it to the root of your sdcard
Go to stock recovery
Select update from sdcard
And select upd_1.zip
Then reboot.
For partition sdcard
Backup your whole sdcard to the pc
Install CWM
Select advance option
Then partition sdcard

Don't use IDM, that's first rule downloading attachment in XDA.
Second you don't need changing OS, also Galaxy Mini don't support Honeycomb !

I already read this tutorial but didnt get following part rest I followed :
You simply need to meet three easy requirements:
Code:
Stock Firmware installed on the Phone (custom ROMS not supported ...They don't need to!)
A microSD with two primary formatted partitions inside (the former 'to FAT32' and the latter 'to EXT4' filesystems)
Ready to Flash to your Galaxy Next via Odin
Thanks
firstly never use rom manager or cwm manager or nay other thing like that on mini
as they have hard bricked too many minies
then root your phone with universal gb root zip file
second see the firmware code you have
then download the same kernel from the second link I gave you
then use mini tool partition wizard on you windows PC to make two partitions of your sdcard
first partition must be primary with same file system your sdcard is having
second with alteast 1gb of space and file system as ext 3/4
a better guide is here:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning
then ask here again what to do next
thanx

i dont use cwm, i use twrp. you can chose and flash out of any filesystem. i dont see cwm not being able to do that, its part of any basic recovery. there has to be a way for you to navigate the filesystem, go up and down levels.
When you choose flash zip from SD card you should see the list of folders on the SD. The top folder should be '0' choose that and you will see your folders again. Choose downloads. It has to do with multiuser on JB.
Again I'm not the dev of these custom recovery. Just that I pack them together and modified a theme to work with our ZR phone.
Installation procedure:
1. Just unzip lockeddualrecovery2.6.0-RELEASE.windows.zip in your PC and run either supersu.bat or superuser.bat.
2. After all files are installed, your phone should reboot automatically into CWM.
3. If you're unable to see CWM and your phone just reboot normally to Android, then you might be suffering from remount-reboot issue. Just run the fix for remount-reboot first.
How to enter CWM/TWRP:
1. During a reboot, when the LED turns green, press VOL-UP for CWM or VOL-DOWN for TWRP. The LED will then turn purple before entering the selected custom recovery.
How to apply the proper theme in TWRP to fix UI issue:
1. Copy the TWRP_theme_720_play.zip into /sdcard/TWRP/theme and rename it as ui.zip
How to restore stock recovery
1. Delete the following files:
/system/bin/recovery.twrp.cpio.lzma (or .tar)
/system/bin/recovery.cwm.cpio.lzma (or .tar)
/system/bin/charger
/system/bin/ric
/system/bin/chargemon
/system/bin/dualrecovery.sh
2. Inside /system/bin/ rename chargemon.stock to chargemon
3. Change permission for chargemon (chmod 755 chargemon)
Credits:
- Team Win for TWRP
- ClockWorkMod for CWM
- z31s1g for the beautiful Holofied theme. I only rescaled some images and edit the xml for 720p display.
excuse me for my ignorance noobish question, but why do we need a dual boot recovery? whats special about twrp if we already have a fine working cwm? or perhaps if one prefers twrp why whould be need both?

TWRP folder is on internal sd card so i copy the ui.zip into internal sd/TWRP/theme.
But when i entering into TWRP mode, i can only see the partial screen which contain install, wipe and backup buttons in big icon.
And no way to get out of recovery mode except removing the battery.
