As of about three days ago my One will not longer charge over USB. The phone detects that it's being plugged in, the computer recognizes it and the phone even acts like it's charging. Except it just won't charge. I've tried two different cables(one being the stock cable) and two different computers with the same result. I've done all of the tricks I was able to find on Google, such as holding power and vol- for two minutes, power and vol+/- for two minutes and holding it up to a light source to reset the light sensor. It also charges just fine in safe mode and with the phone powered off.

Hello,
I am currently using an ATT branded 64 GB HTC One. The Phone is locked and stock except for a few play applications I've downloaded
Nearly every day that I connect the phone to the charger for an extended period of time I will come back to it and it will be frozen, the notification LED will be solid just like its charging normally but the screen will not wake, when the phone is disconnected from the charger the LED stays solid red as if it was still plugged in. At this point I will hold the power button until the phone powers off (or at least seems to, the screen backlight is not on and the LED goes black) and then hold the power button again and it will boot. The more serious problem I've been running in to is after powering down the phone down sometimes it will not power back on again regardless of how long I hold the power button for (I haven't gone over 1:30 of holding the button often but I have tried it). The phone seems dead for either a few minutes or a few hours. Here are some other observations I've made...
- I've had the phone "lock up" on 3 different chargers, HTC bundled charger, generic USB, and the one bundled with my Nexus 4.
- I've thought maybe the phone isn't charging while I am away and when the phone will not wake up maybe it is completely dead so I've hooked it up for about ~15-60 minutes and tried powering the phone up on the above 3 chargers, a Lumia 920 charger, car charger, and charging off computers USB port. None of these seem to have any affect on waking the phone up.
- The time between powering off and when it will power back on seems to be getting longer? I am currently with the dead One, it died about 12 hours ago before bed, tried to power it on last night and again this morning after leaving it on the charger. The closest to powering on that I got was the screen flashed white for a millisecond. Tried to power it back on many times this morning and no go.
- The phone hasn't frozen away from home, but I've only charge it from USB from my PC at work.
Right now I am leaning toward contacting ATT to see if I can arrange an exchange, I'm out of ideas at this point.
My attempt to root my stock Jelly Bean Droid 4 two night was inadvertently interrupted (cable was accidentally disconnected mid-process) and now I can't get it to do anything. It won't charge or boot into any mode at all.
I ordered a factory adapter from Team Black Hat, which arrived today (California to NY in two days, not bad USPS). I attached the adaptr, plugged it into my phone, and then connected it to my computer using the USB cable that came with the phone. Nothing happened. I left it a few minutes, and then tried the power button and the power + volume to try and get it into recovery mode. Still nothing. I've also tried a few different cables, to the same result.
When I remove the adapter and just plug in the cable, the green LED turns on and stays on, but only when connected to my PC. Plugging into the wall charger does nothing.
Have a missed a step some place or is my phone completely knackered?
Just rooting shouldn't have bricked it, what was the method you were using, file name?

If you hold both volume buttons and press power - will you in bootloader menu?
I was with Telus, and entered unlock code for carrier unlock few months ago, and 3 days ago. My HTC battery drained, it will no longer able to turn on, when I plug original cable and charger, no LED, and screen also blank as did not turn on at all. I did research on google, noticed lot of people had similar problem. I follow procedures at XDA below,
1. plug original sync cable and charger to phone for 10-20 minutes (I plug it over a day)
2. press and hold at the same time 3 buttons at the same time POWER, Vol +, Vol - for 2 minutes, i also tried 5 minutes as well.
3. after that release all buttons at the same time.
no luck, nothing happen.
I also tried plug sync cable to computer, I hear USB cable plug-in sound on computer, charged also 30 minutes, and did step 2 & 3 again.
same result, nothing happen as well.
Is there anyone can help me for this? Because I just went on vacation and got back, I was not able to backup all photos during vacation, so I do not want to lost all data and photos in phone.

Try holding the power button and volume down buttons down, while holding the proximity sensor directly under a very bright light (sensor is top left on phone)

I did the same thing, it won't fix.:crying:
Hi all!
I was using my phone (listening to a recording and browsing as far as I remember) and battery was about 50%, then suddenly it turns off by itself. Tried to turn it back on, but still won't turn on so I thought battery just got glitched or something. Did the following after I came home:
1. Charged normally using original HTC charger [few min to multiple hours].
2. Charged normally using a non HTC charger [few min to multiple hours].
3. Plugged in to a computer using original HTC usb cable [few min to multiple hours].
4. Plugged in to a computer using a non HTC usb cable[few min to multiple hours].
5. Tried pressing Vol + and Power Button at the same time.
6. Tried pressing Vol down and Power Button at the same time.
7. Tried presseing Vol up, down and Power Button at the same time.
8. Placed phone under a bright light (light bulb) then tried doing 5, 6 and 7.
9. Placed phone under a bright light while holding Vol up and Power Button.
I tried almost anything, but phone still won't charge. No light indicator coming up and computer won't read the phone when I plug it in to my computer. Used different USB ports and USB cables, everything not working except that the Device Manager reads QHSUSB_DLOAD, which I read that it means my phone is bricked. This was a bit confusing to me because everything were stock. I never even attempted to do custom ROM's or root my phone or whatever else they do with it. I just bought the phone, used it, charge it and that's it. Never dropped it or anything that could damage it.
Please help me with this since I phone's warranty is already up and I needed my files and phone very badly.

If your phone was 100% stock and it went itself in qhsusb_dload mode its probably because of an hardware defect and there is nothing you can do. The unbrick project is your only hope but its for devices that entered this mode because the user flashed something wrong, so it will probably not work but you should try it just in case.
Hello folks. thank you in advance.
I'm 99.9% sure my phone is done. I checked the forums and found similar issues - but nothing exactly like mine. after five day here is what happened, and my troubleshooting steps.
the issue started five days ago. my phone was plugged into my HTC wall charger, which was plugged into a power bar connected to the wall. I made dinner, ate, and came to get my phone.
the lights under the back and home buttons were lit up, but the screen was not. I pressed the unlock button
nothing happened.
I did it again
nothing.
seeing no other alternative I held down the power button until the lights flashed and the phone should have rebooted - instead, it shut off and never turned back on.
I pressed the power button. tried the volume down + power to access the bootloader for an FDR. but the phone still wouldn't power on.
I figured something was up with the battery. I plugged it in for a few minutes but the charging light never came on - it never even blinked.
so I charged it overnight.
the next day, the same thing.
no power, no charging no blinking.
I tried the wall charger, I tried my PC.
that was when I got a ray of hope - my laptop made the USB-connected jingle when I plugged the phone in. so I let if charge, but there was no light
this was when I turned to the forums.
I tried resetting the charging logic - charge for 10 min, unplug, hold down vol+ vol- and power for five minutes
five minutes and three very sore fingers later nothing happened. I tried the same thing holding the proximity sensor under a bright light (super blackout flashlight).
after this, I resigned myself to plugging the phone in for four days. it has been plugged into the wall charger since Tuesday. no red blink, not green light and still not powering on.
i'll also note that when the phone is plugged into a PC it show up in the device manager under the section "ports (com & LPT)" and is called "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM4)".
i have also tried to boot the phone manually the ADB but it just says device not connected.
thank you in advane!
From what I know, if a phone is called Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM4) (or anything with he first three words), then it has a hardbrick or is (sadly) dead... I can't help you, because I don't know how... I never had such a problem [emoji52]
Your phone can go in QHSUSB_DLOAD mode for 2 reasons:
Flashed an incompatible firmware ---> Recoverable
Hardware failure ----> Phone is dead (or will most likely need a new motherboard)
Since it went in this mode itself, then its #2.
