I first tried Automatic Call Recorder as referenced somewhere in the forum and it didn't work that good. Basically missed recording few calls. Then I kept searching for a better app and tried half a dozen, nothing worked properly. It was like searching gem in the haystack. Totally frustrated, started searching for top call recorder apps in google and found Call Recorder - ACR . This app worked just perfect and then I purchased Key costing $4.00. Fully satisfied. But guess what, I just came to know Note 4 has built in call recorder that works fine too :crying: .
I wonder what people are using for their call recording needs.

Built in call recorder ? where did u find that option ?
You know you can enable it for free in csc/feature.xml
Code:
<CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAllowed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>
Mine auto records every phone call and it sounds just fine.

While you are in the call, check the dialer, there is button labelled 'Record' just above speaker phone button.

auto records or you press button for record?
Mine auto records, and names the files with the date and phone number/contact name.
Samsung implement their regional changes with CSC "CustomerSystemConfiguration" or something like that. Their images have a hidden partition with a CSC zip file which contains usually some crap bloatware and config files which get copied to:
/system/csc/...
You can define your home screen layout, and features with a bunch of xml files.
The attached file is the one I use... it gives call recording and symbols on the keyboard (it's enabled only for en_us, so if you want this just add your keyboard).
I tried enabling Internet Calls, (SIP) but it doesn't seem to work on this phone.

Stock ROM but I had once installed Wanam xposed framework to get NFC working while screen off. Since it made my phone sluggish, uninstalled xposed and wanam.

My phones is currently soft bricked at home... (knox stuff), but from memory:
Some of the feature activation only works when you do a f.reset.
EnableSSC = Enabled Single Step Conference... this could possible trigger auto record;
UseECC = Expanded Call Context; not really sure what it does apart from store number in an ECC variable
IPCallPrefix = This adds an extra IPCall button to a contact; another attempt to get IP calls working... safe to remove.
There's also a whole bunch of group and video call features too.

EnableSSC entry in feature.xml did not auto start recording in mine. There must be some other setting. (Of course I rebooted phone. I started recording first call manually and then hung up thinking it may auto start from second, it did not)
In Scandinavia the stock dialer is useless so I use pixelphone pro together with inCall recorder.
Test it out. Great functions.
Actually I can't understand how anyone can use stock dialer because it has no logical search function for names and history preference.

I think I found the necessary parameters to do that. PM me where to send the test version. I probably wont be able to send it over right away, i am still out of my house
Edit: NVM, I can't seem to do that under SDK, probably requires the framework handling or overriding with NDK. I can disable keyboard pop up within the apps I create, but once the app is not in focus, keyboard respond the same as if nothing happened.
Even if I make it a service, there is no available features for me to disable keyboard globally.
I can, however, use a Broadcast event onreceive to see if the phone is "charging"(or docked, whichever is handled by Atrix on CM7) and prompt the user if they want to switch keyboard to something like this. So, this is one way if the dock is detected, ask if the user want to switch keyboard? But I can't get the permissions to pass the onReceive properly... I am too noob
Another possibility, but this is going to be hard unless CM7 team jumps in, add the docking listener to the default keyboard itself, therefore, if the keyboard itself sees the phone is "docked", dont bother showing up for text edit text fields
I wonder if the Sound Switch can't be handled by the event of pluggin in the cable insted of an app or a widget.
plug in the cable -> start script *sound over hdmi*
plug out the cable -> start scrout *sound over speaker*

Hello!
I've made a tasker project to record screen since i don't wanna use an extra app when I can do it with Tasker. I'm using it in a Zooper Widget, but you can as well export it as app.
NOTES:

2) You have to run the task "Start recording" in order to start.

Hello!
I've made a tasker project to record screen since i don't wanna use an extra app when I can do it with Tasker. I'm using it in a Zooper Widget, but you can as well export it as app.
NOTES:

FEATURES:
DOWNLOAD: Record_Screen.prj.xml (file is also attached at the end of post)

Thanks for the cool tasker Project. It works great. I came across one error on my end. That was just the fact I didn't buy auto input and notification. I had only the lite version. Once I bought them everything worked perfectly. Thanks again pal.

Im glad it helps you.
Ive edited the post saying that the full version is required for that apps.
By the way, i found out that screen can be recorded with shell code too, so AutoInput wont be required anymore. I feel bad that in a way youve purchased both apps when this can be done without it. But there are more things which can be done with this app..
I will work on an update which check if phone is rooted or not and if is rooted, it will use only shell codes and if it isnt rooted, then it will use AutoInput and Secure Settings Plugin.
My reply on reddit tasker:
Umm, then maybe I'll make an update which check if ROOT is available with %ROOT variable and use secure settings if phone isn't rooted.
I've got screenrecord working fine through shell code. Screenrecord through shell ( write in terminal emulator screenrecord --help ):
- video resolution
- set the video bit rate, in bits per second. Value may be specified as bits or megabits, e.g. '4000000' is equivalent to '4M'. Default 4Mbps.
- add additional information, such as timestamp overlay, that is helpful in videos captured to illustrate bugs
- Set the maximum recording time, in seconds. Default / maximum is 180.
Now I'm thinking to use shell codes for this and don't use autoinput & autonotification . I don't know, is just an idea

EDIT: It seems that screenrecord through shell can be stopped by CTRL-C or when the video reach the specified time. AutoInput still the winner.

No worries about having to buy the apps, I was already going to. I just honestly never got around to it. I like the idea of having full Shell commands, but I feel as you have already proven that AI and AN are the way to go. Keep up the good work, and if you ever need testers for stuff feel free to hit me up.
I wanted to share my version of your "Screen Record" project.
Didn't find any good reason to start a new thread, given the fact that I started from your code.
That being said, I've made many changes to it to suit my personal needs and I always keep adding things.
Android version: 8.0 (needed for long tap)
The main changes on the attached "project" file are:
Removed the use of global variables and the use of scenes
Recording is now initiated from a Quick Settings tile (single tap for recording with touches, long tap for recording without touches)
During the recording, I block all notifications
The recording stops in two ways: a) press tile or b) shake phone. (I prefer latter so as the video to remain clean)
The video has a default name. Once recording stops, user is prompted to enter a new name. (I do that using the AWESOME AutoTools, but can be easily replaced by a scene)
At the end, the folder containing the video is added.
Additional (not included) and future functionality:
Share file with specified device using Join
[Future] Select directory to save the file
[Future] Define a time for which the file should remain stored, then it gets deleted (I tend to forget files!)
Requirements:
Root, to enable show touches (can be overpassed using AutoInput)
AutoInput for recording (required)
AutoNotification for tile and blocking notifications (optional: can use Tasker tile and not block notifications)
AutoTools for a RegEx extraction and dialogue displace (optional: can be replaced by tasker actions and a scene)
Some different icons (attached zip file): I've used a bunch of icons (copy the Essential Set folder to your Tasker>.icn directory), credits to the creators at https://www.flaticon.com/ (Essential Set)
If anyone wants help in editing this, I'm more than happy to help.
Also if you can think of any features to be added, please let me know.

Those are great improvements!
You're free to create a new thread. That way, more people can see your project. It's your choice.
By the way, I've seen your post just because I've checked that page where I can see all the threads I've created, otherwise I wouldn't have seen your post because you haven't quoted my post nor mentioned me. Just a friendly tip, next time you want to contact/ask someone thing or reply him, you should quote his post or mention his name because he'll receive a notification.
@#Henkate Yes should have done that pal, sorry. Hope this one at least works.
I feel you on the use of plugins. That's why I mentioned the fact that all but AutoInput can be substituted for something Tasker native. Maybe I should try and do the same variant without (at least) AutoTools for others to use it more freely. But I'm rubbish on the artistic side of a GUI. But a simple dialogue will suffice I guess.

I'm sorry for the late reply.
Yep, it worked. I've got the notification .
Forget what I've wrote about the plugins. I've edited my post after I've wrote that but I see that you've already read it. I've forgot that I've used AutoInput and AutoNotification myself lol.
To be honest, i'm not good at designing neither .
I'm not using Tasker anymore since some time, but I'm looking forward to see what further changes you'll make to your project. Good luck!
Hi, I use Stork.ai. It's the best for me.
So they are introducing mandatory emergency alerts here in Canada...testing started this week and didn't go so well, but then today I suddenly received a real alert. It's obviously very loud (which is expected), but I was surprised it made a sound at all because my phone was on vibrate at the time. I was in the office when it happened, and the alarm actually caused a bit of a fuss as people thought it was a fire alarm at first.
I understand the importance of these alerts, but does this mean from now on a loud alarm may sound day or night, with no control over it whatsoever? Today's alert involved a case in a town 16 hours away...it makes no sense.
I know we can't opt out of these alerts, but is there really no way to only show notifications or make these alerts vibrate instead? The options for these alerts in my messaging app are greyed out. Is this something we can change with root? Worst case, I figured it would be fine on Do Not Disturb, but since it makes a sound with vibration I'm no longer so sure that Do Not Disturb mode would actually have any effect...
I have an N950FD with Bell Mobility Canada, unrooted on latest stock Oreo firmware with XSG/XSG/XSG CSC.

You can try systen ui tunner, it gives you some more control over notifications, on a per app basis, although it is little tricky with samsung devices, inside the app is a brief explanation about it
I'm not sure how to change it with root or if it is even possible. I do know that the settings change based on CSC so if you ever get around to changing your CSC that might do the trick for you.
With T-Mobile USA CSC none of my Emergency Alerts settings are greyed out. I can choose which alerts to get & if I want to mute them. Since I can mute them (yeah that sound alert is very annoying & overkill in my opinion) I just leave all my alerts on. The only alert I can't disable is Presidential alerts which I have never received one anyway. I forget how the settings looked when I was stock XEU though.
I to received this bs alert ( Canada ) and and looking for a work around. Hopefully someone can identify the procedure to completely remove this pile of crap. It doesn't even work correctly ffs. Just pisses me off

At least I'm not the only one who was annoyed . What Note 8 model do you have? Did it make a sound (and if so, were you on vibrate or silent)?

Thanks, I'll take a look! The more options the better. I don't mind the notification so much...I just have to make sure that siren doesn't suddenly start blaring again

I think you're right and it's once again related to CSC. Lol, first the missing Gif keyboard, and now this
I searched a little and found a few articles from today... One said the alert should be silent if the phone is on vibrate, and the other article (below) said we should be able to edit the same messaging settings that are greyed out for me.
https://mobilesyrup.com/2018/05/14/ontario-just-received-first-emergency-text-alert/
Maybe they do not use this type of alert system in UAE (XSG CSC), and so they disable the toggles (and the default 'make a sound' doesn't matter). Just a thought, but that would explain why I have an unmutable siren here...and why no one else in my office does, lol. Thanks again

I have a Huawei p10 I can disable individual alerts, but cant disable emergency alerts complete service. I got the original test alert it was loud and annoying. I unchecked everything but still got an amber alert cancellation notification only for an area no where near me with no audio. I did not receive the initial amber alert. These are my available settings.
Quick update: I decided to flash the latest Oreo firmware (Puerto Rico) from SamFirm. I used CP, AP, BL, and CSC with the latest Odin version. Everything went well and my CSC changed (gif keyboard working!), but the messages settings for emergency alerts remained the same... I then tried flashing XEF, but ended right back at my original XSG/XSG/XSG (due it being a to multi-csc which includes XSG, I assume). Back to square one for now, but when I have more time I'll try a few other firmwares/csc until I find one that works...or just end up rooting it...
I have the T-mo note 8 and can not find these settings, exactly how did you get to them?

They are in the settings menu for the messaging app. Open the app, tap on the three dots in the top-right of your screen, tap on settings, then tap on notifications.
