If i use a i9001 rom to a i9000 or i9000 rom to i9001 what will happen? (it sound stupid )
Do not worry haven't done this stupid thing
Thanks let me know

Most likely won't work or brick your device to some level. Their different hardware.

I think there is also a problem of drivers and configurations.
I am also the owner of i9000 and just like you I'm waiting for the porting of Android L, hoping OmniROM that has already started work about a week ago.

as you said the chance is the %0,000001 then try it yourself.... Dont expect that somone will try this for you (ım sure noone wouldnt brick her device with his hands)
Hardwares are differents that means softwares are different so if you try to flash i9001 rom into your i9000 then %99,999999 you will hardbrick your device if you are so lucky then you can face a softbrick...

Okay I have decided I wont flash i9001 rom on i9000 ever
It all make sense now.
Thank you again guys. :good:
Can't wait for android L on our device :fingers-crossed:

Hi Guys, I just wanna know that is it possible for me just to download a Rom from HTC Sence 3.5 and just flash it to my Samsung Galaxy Note, Have anyone tried that or will that work out something or will it brick the phone... Just wanna know... sorry if its sound stupid for guys who is well expirienced since i'm a newbie here... Thanks

Try if you don't have a paper weight in your house..
Well if you have nothing better to do you could just try and post ur results you know

Would you take a bios from a PC and flash that into a MAC and then expect OSX to work correctly?
No, of course not, because they are two different hardware platforms..just like each and every android phone is a completely different platform.
Look at all the hardware dependent items in this architecture....
My strong suggestion is to research, learn and understand about what you are doing before you actually do it..or you will be yet one more user with a low post count starting a thread entitled "Did i brick my phone..."

Dont give this kind of advice even as a joke. These are expensive "toys" and to assist someone in bricking a $600 - $700 piece of hardware is NOT very nice.
OP... As others have mentioned... There are MAJOR differences between Touchwiz and Sense, Samsung and HTC so no... DO NOT try this or you will brick your device.
Thank You very much guys for your guidance here..
Simplifying the question
ok i understand that HTC and Samsung are two different devices.
I have used samsung galaxy gio with ease and liked that very much.
1 ------- Currently i have htc please tell me can i put Samsung Galaxy gio ics 4 rom in htc explorer.
answer if no -- then can i at least use samsung keyboard some how on HTC explorer . i have its apk but it does not get installed.
2-------- Can i use HTC ICS 4 official rom to flash on HTC explorer ( with my little knowdge i assume platform is same ) will it work
and if i try and it dont work i can go back to restore original setting ( will it harm or damage device )
Please tell me.
Note that i have replace my Samsung gio with HTC explorer ( only beacuse of short Ram )

1. Not sure, some hardware changes make it incompatible with the s5830 though
2. No
3. People say razodroid has the most features. Retribution looks good too

I think the only different is that S5830 has a processor of 800 MHz and S5830i has a processor of 832 MHz.
S5830 ROMS cannot be flashed on 5830i because both have different chipsets. If you try, your phone gets bricked
There are quite a few custom ROMs for 5830i so far (You can checkout from the 5830i developement section and decide which works best for you. I personally found Androidscream V1 by Qeemi, best for my needs. You can also try the rest). You may also flash latest stock ROM using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822109 instructions.
Hope this helps

The S5830i is a different phone
[]Brodcom chipset
[]different GPU (VideoCore IV HW)
[]different sensors
[]different partitions
[]different camera
[]Codename - COOPEREV
Its your phones funeral if you flash a S5830i firmware
How to visually tell the difference of if its S5830i or S5830?
You can't its visually completely identical to S5830

S5839I = S5830I
All custom ROMs for the S5830I can be safely flashed on the S5839I. Many S5839I users have confirmed that already.
Still would love confirmation regarding s5839i is s5830i

Hmmm.. I choose S5830i......
Outside it looks the same but inside it has different hardware. So don't flash roms for 5830 on 5830I or it will brick your phone. You can find a reference on my site michielv.eu about the differences

Hello
Im def no expert on the subject but after flashing my gt-s5830 lately one thing ive seen over and over is people saying make sure you get the right rom for your model of phone Even if the difference is only gt-s5830 / gt-s5830i
And although the gt-s5830 and the gt-s5839i are almost exactly the same spec wise they both use different processors
so my guess would be no
Hope this helps
Matt
You can install S5830i roms on the S5839i.
Many people have done that and it works perfectly!

[Q] Custom ROMs for GT-S5839i

Hello. I noticed that are few informations about this model/version of Samsung Galaxy Ace. I'm wondering if I can install custom roms made for GT-S5830 on my GT-S5839i.. What is the big difference between this two models ? And if you can give more custom roms for this model, i will be very greatful. Anyway, i have been read that custom roms for gt-5830 are working too for 5839i. Is that true ? Please answer my questions

Don't try it, or you'll kill your device!
GT-S5830 has a different SoC (Qualcomm) vs GT-S5830i and 5839I (Broadcom) so stop here!
They have a different hardware so, this is completly false...
Go straight to the 5830i Android Dev section.
The ROMs there are compatible.
Never, ever try 5830 ROMs, especially those with kernels that are included in the ROM zip. You wouldn't want to hard brick your phone, would you?

Do not install s5830 roms on your device. The s5830 and the s5830i are basically two different phones. Roms from the s5830i section should work on your device. Just follow the instructions in the rom thread your interested in, in the s5830i development thread.
