Hello,
I just bought a Lumia 830 (sealed) but with no warranty.
I have the exact same issue with the camera as in this story http://discoverxperiav.blogspot.ro/2014/11/nokia-lumia-830-camera-problem.html
Nokia Care resolved his issue like this: "Nokia Care fixed the camera problem by removing the entire firmware of nokia lumia 830 and re-installing it (not hard reset).. they accepted the issue and said it was their first batch of shipment and they weren't aware of the camera problem"
My question is if Nokia is obliged to change its faulty batch of phones for free or they are not entitled to do this if I don't have any kind of warranty ? The phone is out for 3-4 months so all phones are basically under international warranty.
Installing another firmware with Lumia Recovery Tool would help my issue with the camera ?
Waiting for an answer, thanks!

Hi,
I suspected my secondary camera is faulty and my unit is already out of warranty. I just wonder if it is possible to replace the secondary camera with a new one. If it is not, then I think I have to send to service center for repair . Which it would be more expensive.
Thanks & regards,
Daneal
You need to weigh up the cost of needing the secondary camera as compared to the cost of having it repaired.
At the least you should have it investigated by a reputeable repairer so that you actually know the cost that would be involved, obviously it will cost you money to have it looked at.
Secondary camera issue
Assume that the secondary camera is ACTUALLY not faulty but it just 'lack' of certain driver. As I noticed in previous posting in this forum, user reported that there's a driver called ATI that can be used to fix camera related problem. I'm not sure whether this is a could be the exact problem on why the secondary camera doesn't work.
Anyone could comment about this ? Thanks.

Daneal
Hi everyone.
I got my brand new HTC One yesterday and this phone rocks! Only problem is the camera getting the what you guys already know as the red/purple tint due to camera defect.
Now i live in guyana and sadly there are to htc repair centers. I bought this phone from the US.
I have the sd vd6869(1.0) cinesensor 2013-05-10 camera sensor in my phone.
I read somewhere on this forum that persons with this problem send their phone to a repair center and the replace the sensor with ov4688 sensor module.
Is there a way for me to buy this module online or something?
There are guys over here who can replace it easily.
Please help. I really love taking images.
Thanks very much.

Your phone is brand new, you should consider contacting htc usa and sending your phone for repair so your warranty will not be void. Im pretty sure repairing an htc phone from an unauthorized shop void your warranty.

Yeah but how will i send it i'm in guyana. Oh and i email HTC USA this morning , lets hear what they say.
Does it have a US warranty? Then your best bet may be to do what I did - find someone you trust who's traveling to the US and ask them to deal with it for you. The only thing you'll pay for is shipping to HTC.
Give it plenty of time just in case - they do the repair itself very quickly but the shipping back and forth will take a few days, and there may be a holdup if they see something else that needs to be repaired and they have to contact you about it.
Hello guys,
I contacted the HTC Support because I got the red camera issue and wanted to know if they could repair it. The guy over there asked me to issue the magic code *#*#3424#*#* to enter the HTC Diagnostic Tool. Instead of opening the tool, the screen just stood on the phone app. I thought it could be because i'm not on stock anymore, but I think this was not the case (saw a comment somewhere saying the Diag Tool should be there if using a standard HTC derived ROM, and I tried NuSenSeven, coming from XenonHD Nougat Version).
I'm able to get to the Info Screen (code *#*#4636#*#*).
Does anybody have an idea what's going on here?

That CS guy must be a new HTC employee... This issue plagued the M7 since its release in 2013. It's hardware related and the diag tool won't help. They'll probably suggest you do a factory reset, just don't, you'll be wasting your time. If you really want to fix it, you'll have to send your phone for repair or get the parts repair it yourself.

Alright, wrote some more mails to the support.
Basically they suggested me to go to an independent repair shop because they don't make the parts anymore. They also told me to buy a newer device. Lol.
Told them i won't buy HTC anymore. Got a samsung galaxy S5 used, because i can also change the battery there and add an sd card.
Still, it would be nice to repair this HTC. I read that you need the new camera(rectangular) instead of the old (round) one. Can I get this of e-bay or ali-express and is there something to watch out for?
Hi guys, my Nokia 9 Pureview had some liquid damage and the Nokia service center told they could not fix the phone due to costs of their own parts and warranty wouldn't cover for the liquid damage. I went online to try and find the schematics for the phone but couldn't find any, it would be of much help if I could get the schematics of the Nokia 9 Pureview, Thanks in advance.
Well, even their service manual doesn't have schematic at all.
I think FIH is unwilling to release that like old Nokia / Microsoft Mobile did.
Service manual
Hi, can you please share the service manual
Hi all,
Just wanted to share my experience with Asus warranty service while having an unlocked bootloader.
Maybe a few months after buying my first Zenfone (5z), the rear camera's focusing mechanism failed and would not focus anymore.
I sent my phone into their repair center (which didn't include a shipping label), and waited about 10 days. I was doubtful they would fix it, but it turns out they completely ignored the unlocked bootloader and replaced my rear camera!
I'm not always lucky in getting warranty service on phones with unlocked bootloaders (especially when it's not defect related), but I am glad to know that Asus stands by their products when there is a real hardware defect.
Has anyone else successfully received warranty service with an unlocked bootloader? What service did you need for your Zenfone?

I had network issue and got repaired (software) twice but still same issue and third time i submitted it and they replaced motherboard.
**My bootloader was unlocked from the 1st time i visited but no issue with the warranty.
I was happy to know about this that it didn't void my warranty.
