SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
SlimLP is currently in alpha / beta stage, some custom features are already in place, but much much more is planned for the future.

SlimLP provides ample opportunities to breathe some new life into any supported device with the latest version of Android, combined with a ton of exclusive features.
Thanks for the build. What do you mean by "You may need to disable encryption on your device by flashing the boot image here"? I checked my downloads md5, tried flashing the rom both with and without slim gapps but didn't succeed: booted into an unusable, distorted ROM with strange colours.
Got the same error, with stock kernel sadly unusable.
With Mani AOSP it at least boots and doesn't show the strange color blocks.
But e.g. Bluetooth constantly fcs and the tab does random reboots.
I think it's probably a kernel issue, the same graphic error will occur,
When using e.g. Mani aosp on cm based ROMs.
(According to op this ROM uses cm kernel.)
Thanks for the feedback, updates will come asap until slimlp is buggless.
There is a lot of problems in this rom, first bootlooping, then it reboots every minute for unknown reason then something happen and it freezes, (maybe wrong oom?), and thank god I'm back to CM12
Any Good News about this?
Too busy currently sorry for the delay.
So guys no much free time as real life took over my XDA fun. If anyone wishes to port slim to gpad feel free to do so.

Installation Instructions:
This has been tested using CWM, it should also work with Philz or TWRP. If you try it on those please let me know how it goes!
Factory reset/wipe data 3 times. (this helps with random reboots if you have them like I do)
Wipe system 3 times. (this helps with random reboots if you have them like I do)
Install ROM,
Install Gapps.
Reboot device.
I suggest letting the device sit for 5 or 10 minutes at the welcome screen before diving right in, up to you.
Known Bugs:
Netflix probably won't work past 3.1, using an older version OR the netflix workaround for xposed also works.
Selecting a corrected word can often times crash the app you're typing in.

More I'm sure I've missed or forgotten!
Notes:
I'm a very easy going guy, I don't care if there is off topic in my threads. Those who mess around with me can attest to this. I would prefer to try to keep this more on track and keep the randomness in the Carbon thread, as usual . All I ask is it's kept civil, flaming or arguing can be taken to PM. If you want to report a bug, please at least try to do a little trouble shooting, or at least list very detailed steps to recreate the bug for squashing.
I don't plan to do nightly builds, I'm leaning more to a weekly build kind of setup at this time.
Enjoy!

thanks for this rom...
i used this rom from miui forum and it works flawless...
and add "redmi-2" tag in last...
Facing unknown baseband problem after flashing r5 but havent faced any problems about unknown baseband sim cards wifi and bluetooth are working perfectly
In my opinion the best rom for Redmi2 so far.
I test almost all of them..
Thanks!
In this thread too you have not mentioned that you are just sharing the ROM,so bu default you are taking the credit's for it by the user's. You have mentioned Vijay.R as a contributor who in fact is the author of the ROM(don't know if you even took permission before sharing the ROM).Please mend your ways.
@thakurneel have a look here too.
Peace.
This guy is a desperate fellow. I hope you become rich by 2-3 thanks that you receive. Have fun.

what's the point to build an unofficial rom, while there has been official one and get weekly update already?

+1... I dont see any point in building something that already exists and have a stable support, if you dont intend to include different things, more features or something else(which I dont think it fits Slim-type of rom), its just redundant. As he answered "nope" for changes from official build.
BTW: i am not by any means angry, not wanting to be disrespectful at all, im saying my opinion. (clarifying coz theres a lot of angry people out there that cannot take others' opinions..)

Bug reporting:
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Is this ROM dramatically differes from others another named ROMs? What is the matter if all of them are built from a single repo? From one side we have some variety of firmwares but from another they are actually identical except for some non critical details.

Yes. Not all roms offer the same customisations. Also long time rom users have their favourites. Just use the ones you enjoy and let devs do their work.
