I was wondering if the boot animation could be changed on this version on android. I am using Android Lolipop for the XT-1068
I guess its possible, the bootanimation.zip file remains the same (at /system/media if I remember) I don't see any tutorial to change boot animation specific for lollipop so I guess it's the same method as the older versions.

I guess its not a video, its some frames or something like that, i recommend you to download a flashable bootanimation specific for Moto G (720x1280 resolution), its the easiest way to do that, I haven't tried to change the bootanimation of this phone yet so I don't know much.

Yes, but you have to use a bootanimation.zip containing .mpg. This way Motorola reduces the size of the .zip file.
A bootanimation that mimics the default lollipop-boot can be downloaded here. Extract the downloaded zip and place bootanimation.zip into /system/media.

This is my latest android boot animation.
There are two versions.
One with intro and loop
One with the whole animation in loop
Tell which one you like more.
Files can be found here
Hope you like it. If so, use thank button or donation (I'll appreciate it. LOL)
Both look similar but will go for the second one cheers mate
PS - can i just flash this via CWM?
They are the same. I couldn't decide if I liked the whole animation keep looping or just the final part with the Android text
as a loop

Thanks for the good time
Miui can change boot screens through the theme Chooser without having to use root explorer but I think it uses mtz files. Do you mind if I ask if anyone can make a miui version of your boot?

One of my favorite boot animations. Resized for our tablets.
Copy to /system/media and reboot. You need root access to copy this. Most people use root explorer for this. This is only for aosp roms such as AOKP / CM10 and the like. Not for stock roms!!

You can backup the old boot animation on the sd card, or rename it to something that dont mess up with the new one.
@OT Could you provide more bootanimations? And maybe for the 7 inch and the 10 inch one?

OP updated with resized animation.
I have been working on this a bit and have failed at it miserably.
I'm trying to get this animation onto my tab:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/20788-bo...ic-old-skool-arcade-title-screen/page__st__10
Ideally I'd like to get it running in "portrait" mode, which I think means all the images need to be rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
I haven't managed to succeed, only make my tab not display anything on screen anymore in landscape mode, and display only like 1/3rd of the screen in portrait mode.
That was fun to fix LOL.
Anyways, any suggestions? It seems like this should be easy!
Looks great! I'm about to try.

now that we have root, has anyone already began to change their bootanimation?
I currently have the one off of the Droid Razr replacing my At&t boot animation, but i have not managed to get rid of the motorola symbol yet before it. also it's a smaller resolution so it displays as a small square in the middle of the phone.
Basically this thread is for posting what boot animation you have/figuring out problems with bootanimation.
crash
Here is the original from the razr hd. (germany)
and the
droid razr hd (us)
Can someone write a "how to"?
Edit...

edit: thanks for that droid razr hd boot animation, it fits perfectly and blue is my favorite color ^.^
No prob.
Can you pls tell me how i can install the doid razr hd animation??
Sry...im a noooooooooob°!
To change bootanimation.
1. Download a file explorer ( i use root explorer) that allows u to access root on ur phone
2. Navigate to /system/media. There you will see a bootanimation.zip file. I recommend to rename it to bootanimation_original.zip or something.
3. Now find the new bootanimation you want and copy it to this folder (/system/media).
4. Now rename your NEW bootanimation to bootanimation.zip
5. If your new bootanimation needs sound (like the droid razr from verizon) then also replace the .ogg on /system/media.
Make sure u make a backup of the original bootanimation and .ogg file just in case

Yeah, thanks!:good: Really easy!
Droid animation runs great....but no sound?
Make sure you move the .ogg file to the media folder. U don't need to rename it.

LEave the bootanimation.zip file the way it is... just copy and paste in on the /system/media folder on ur internal storage. same with the .ogg file
Enjoy!
