hi there,
after unlocking the phone I missed to see that all data would be lost. Obviously the ROM was set back to factory.
Two applications I found to recover the data:
1. 7-Data Android Recovery (can't even find the phone)
2. Android Data Recovery (finds the phone, phone tells me that superuser rights are granted everything ok, but then: "unable to get device storage information")
I would love to recover some data like photos, applications or contacts, before flashing another ROM.
ADB Drivers, fastboot etc is installed. Motorola Device Manager is installed. All Drivers have been successfully placed.
The Phone work works properly when plugged to PC and also USB Debugging is enabled.
Why do my data recovery programs don't access the phone?
TeamWin Recovery 2.7 has been installed, furnice Kernel 1.1.2 as well as SuperSU 2.4. has been installed.
maybe those are impedient`?

Unlocking the phone will perform a factory reset. That means, everything that does not reside in your external sdcard is permanently lost.
If your device is properly set up with a google account, all your contacts, bookmarks, emails etc. will be restored. That means that everything you can access with your browser, like email, Chrome-bookmarks, are in sync with your device. If you allow google to backup your settings it will also try to restore your apps, but this is, and was, very unreliable.
If you must, you can manually backup your contacts with Contacts Backup Ultimate.
As for applications, nothing beats Titanium Backup. Ugly as hell but the most powerfull backup solution there is.
And last but not least, copy your photos, music, movies etc to your external sdcard.
All this has of course to be done before whiping your device.
P.S. Please update your recovery to the latest TWRP.
external sd may follow soon.
team win recovery that version is offically compatible to moto G14
so I chose that one.
thanks for the tipp. should have seen that earlier.

I did use that tool as well as 7-Data Recovery and another one. None of them capable to access the phone.
Tenoshore told me after connecting the phone to the app and choosing what data to save, that the storage information is not accessible.
No clue as to how that happens.

If you connect your device with usb-debugging enabled in the developer options, does a dialog pop up, presenting a RSA fingerprint, asking to allow usb-debugging? Allowing this is imperative.
that was done properly... the application does ask for this before you can chose what to save.

What is the output of "adb devices" after you connect your device?
C:\adb>adb devices
adb server is out of date. killing...
* daemon started successfully *
List of devices attached
ZX1D22HLNC unauthorized
C:\adb>
but usb tunnel is working right now...
usb debugging is enabled...
adb should be up to date...
mmmh every try delivers different ansers:
second time said: devices attached.
third time said: daemon failed to start
and adb server didnt ack
ok, there is a well known issue with some devices and adb
there is an adb fix for it, but I couldn't get it to work so far.

Ouya SuperScript
By TehCrucible
v0.1
INTRODUCTION
So I originally wrote this batch script to simplify and combine some of the most frequently used tweaks on the forums for my own sake, to speed up my tinkering with the Ouya but I've decided to clean it up and upload it in case anyone else wants to use it.
This script is designed as a "one-click" modification tool for a stock Ouya on the latest firmware. Please read this guide carefully.
I ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE OR DATA LOSS. This script is built on the work of many others much smarter than myself and be sure to check the credits.
SO WHAT DOES IT DO?
In a nutshell:
- Install Clockworkmod Recovery
- Root Ouya
- Install Xposed Framework
- Install Google Play Store
WHAT DO I NEED?
- A Windows PC. I have included drivers for both x86 and x64.
- A Micro USB cable.
INSTALLATION OVERVIEW
1. Update your Ouya to latest stock firmware
2. Install ADB drivers
3. Run the script
4. Play some games!
There's a more detailed step-by-step in the included README.txt file.
KNOWN ISSUES
- None

Thanks a lot for this. A lo of people have been asking about an automated method to get the play store running on the OUYA...
Great works. I just think of root my ouya....
A quick update:
It's working. I'm on the latest firmaware which is JZO54L-OUYA, kernel version 3.1.10-g780994a. Completely stock, but I had already rooted my OUYA.
Anyway, I enabled the Wireless ADB which will instantly show you the ip and port, installed the drivers for 64bit. Then open CMD and type: adb connect "iport"
Then I ran the superscript and everything went fine.
Hope this helps. I didn't even have to connect with a wire.
But I guess if you wanna install the CWM recovery you should be connected with a wire...
Hello guys!
I can see the Ouya in Device list in Control panel but I can't connect it in SuperScript. Any ideas?

Did you install the drivers right? If yes, then you should open the folder where you extracted your files and right click while holding shift then choose open CMD here. Then write: adb devices
If your device is there, it will give you an output of the IMEI and name of device
From there, you can then tell us what the error is and hopefully we can resolve it...

that happened to me yesterday, but I overcame it by have my computer plugged into the Ouya then reboot the ouya and as soon as the computer recognized it started the script and it worked.
but I have an issue too
So I can run the script everything works except getting the recovery installed. the command prompt acts like it successfully installed the recovery then the Ouya proceeds to reboot into recovery mode. When that happens I get this menu? Nothing happens when I push any buttons on my keyboard. This doesn't look like a custom recovery.
I have tried this many times, did a factory reset and started fresh however even after updating the device driver it doesnt recognize the ouya....

No it doesn't .
I think I had the recovery installed when I first got the device a long time ago and I used the manual method in this thread, but I'm not sure that it works any more. Also do you have a wired or wireless keyboard? By the way only the Bluetooth keyboard doesn't work. May be if you can install the recovery from that thread, then you can proceed to the next step. One last thing, I don't think you will need the recovery except if you want to install CM or something. Other than that, I never used it before.

Which version of windows are you on? Is it Windows 8 or 8.1? Do you know how to disable driver signature verification?
Also, what does it say when you connect? Just nothing, or not recognized or what? You can try the adb wireless, go into settings/development on the ouya and activate it. Then open CMD from the extracted folder and type adb connect "ip : port" then check by typing "adb devices". Let us know what happens after that.

I have tried both from my windows 7 computer and 8.1 laptop. It showed up just as you said "missing driver", sent it to the drivers part of SS to get the driver, it said it installed but when i run the SS and hit option "1" it comes up blank...

I can see from your posts that you tried everything and I'm so sorry that I'm just a user and not a developer or something. May be you can try sideloading terminal and try CWM manually (if you haven't already) or sideload ROM Toolbox and try the flash recovery option.
That's all I got. But if I were you, I won't bother about the CWM at all. It's useless.
As for the Play store, try the mod that I attached in my reply and let me know if this one works for you...
Unfortunately the link is not working. Is it possible to update it, please?
What I do if my micro usb is broken :/. I only have wireless adb
.. nice .. now my ouya will run again .. thanks
I already tried everything but I can't make this work... I installed every single drive in every single way.
The best screenshot of the whole situation is on attachment. SuperScript simply doesn't recognize OUYA with default drivers, neither provided drivers (or any of its variation like "composite adb" or something like that. The "List of devices attached" always return empty, even when provided drivers installed (signature deactivated and everything else). As readme says, when SuperScript doesn't recognize, it returns "error: device not found" every time that I try something...
This SuperScript seems great to start things on my my untouched and default OUYA... but I'm honestly out of options.

Problem solved. It is Windows Drivers issue. S-Config did a great job explaining how you should do this HERE. I hope it helps people who got stuck. SuperScript did work, I did installed CWM but I was not able to navigate (neither thru bluetooth usb full keyboard). I'm going to try to figure out what I'm missing later. As I can see, S-Config's website is fully updated... I do highly recommend read there who is going to do anything with ouya.

Try doing a factory reset from within Android, I hope this helps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/64gb-stuck-23gb-t2970279
Read down a few posts. It worked for me on 5.1.1.
I also have the same problem but with the 32gb version.
I started with a locked unrooted 5.1.1 Nexus 6.
I followed the instructions from Google's file image site.
I unlocked the boot loader.
Then ran the flash all script that failed, so I manually flashed the phone.
Phone rebooted and started up fine.
I attempted to re-lock the boot loader but it failed.
When connected to a windows system the phone shows up on auto play but file explorer shows No files or folders.
Tried a factory wipe still nothing.
worked

Yes. The phone defaults to charge-only mode via USB, which prohibits file transfer; this is why the device folder was empty in Windows. Switch to MTP mode via the notification shade and it will appear as it normally does.
In addition, in Developer options, you can configure the default USB mode, so as to prevent this from happening in the future.
or, just move into the 21st century, and use a program like wifi explorer pro, and never have to connect with a usb cable to transfer anything ever again..

Agreed that apps like this are very convenient. Sometimes still prefer hardwiring for transferring 20-30 GB worth of stuff, even though MTP is a total drag.

This fixed my Issue. It was set to MTP but I switched it to Charge only then back to MTP and it works now.
Thank you.
with a fast wifi connection, its not really much slower to transfer big stuff as well; although, how often are you transferring 20-30 gigs of stuff???
I think I have used the cable to transfer maybe 3 or 4 times since I got this phone..wireless charging, no cables to transfer files, its time to embrace 2015!
TWRP Resize partition function
Addressing just the problem posed in the title of this thread, if you have TWRP installed, or if you choose to install it after you discover this problem, then you have an option that will preserve your data: use the new "resize partition" function within recovery.
Boot to TWRP (version 2.8.7.1 or higher)
Choose "Wipe" button (do not slide yet!!) then "Advanced Wipe" button.
Select the Data partition, then "Repair or Change File System" button.
Choose the Resize button.
Now you can slide to confirm, and it will expand the partition to it's full potential, without disturbing the data.

Sorry for OT:
Definitely doesn't work on a rooted Nexus 5. It always jumps back to charge only. Does this work 100% on Nexus 6 devices?
File transfer also doesn't work properly for me (and at least one other person in the NExus 5 Troubleshooting subforums), if you want to move a folder onto the SD card which has a system file and / or subfolders in it, it will most likely fail. There are also a lot of folders not showing in Windows Explorer, so if i.e. I want to move Titanium Backup files to the SD card I just can't place a folder and name it "Titanium Backup" because it won't get recognized. I have to create a dummy folder, place the backup files in there and then move them manually with ES File Explorer to the now visibile real TB folder.
That bothered me so much I did a rollback to Lollipop, hopefully those things get fixed by Google or with an Xposed module (if this is working somewhen).

Correct, you have to uninstall all your layers and substratrum mods before accepting the OTA. I just saw this but you can boot into safe mode while system ui is fc and uninstall all the mods there and you should be good when you boot out of safe mode. No factory data reset needed.

I was able to fix it without factory resetting my phone. To do it, connect your phone to a pc (pc that you previously connected your phone to and always allowed access), in cmd with adb, run "adb shell pm list packages > whateveryouwanttonameit.txt" and look through the text file for apps you installed that changed your status bar. Then in cmd run "adb uninstall com.appyouwanttouninstall". I did 4 among many, checked my phone, and didn't get the system ui has stopped messages

Thanks for the tip! Rather than saving to text I just used one window to output the packages to stdout, while I used another to do the uninstalls. Removing these two packages fixed the issue:

Thanks houboy, you're a lifesaver.
Tried to center the status bar clock and the phone crashed.
Your method worked like a charm
I was reading through the reddit thread posted earlier and found an alternative solution which worked for me.
Log into Samsungs Find My Phone website, unlock your device and then switch on Power Saving Mode, then reboot. Once in Power Saver you will regain control of your phone. Now, switch off power saver and go disable all substratum mods and reboot again.
Happened twice to me while setting up my new Note 8. Resolved to finally wipe through hard reset menu, and setup as new phone. Some Substratum addon was lingering when I did a restore which was likely causing the UI crash.
this happened 3 times to my note 8, the culprit seems to be android pay, once you add a credit card to be specific . To fix the phone you need to put the phone in powersaving mode via Samsung dive then reboot.
once the phone rebooted in power saving mode just put it back to normal , after this procedure all cards are removed from google pay.

What's strange is that I have substratum installed but never ran it but I'm still getting the system UI error, thank good it hasn't totally blocked need but still doesn't make sense why this is all happening. I forgot I even installed it honestly.
I just uninstalled it so I'll see if that changes anything.
@squick You could try booting into safe mode to see if its a program causing it, but for me, i updated my phone software(update) with the substratum ui apk installed which caused me to get the force close error where only the screen showed system ui has stopped. I used adb to get a list of packages and remove the substratum system ui apk. A sure way to fix would be to reset the phone, but if you're able to use it, try removing apps you dont need from your applications in the settings. It's possible there could be another app interfering with the system ui

Had exactly the same problem and resolved it with adb. See here:

Ah, I missed that thread. I will give it a try.
Do you now need to manually backup data via adb all the time or has this fixed the issue and backups are made automatically by the phone itself now?
After this I left the phone during night on charge and connected via WIFI and it started to backup automatically. Since then no more problems... it needs just the initial push
thanks mate!
just for the others who may be having the same issue - the backup suddenly started working after a few days without me touching anything, so in the end I did not use the adb method.
My mind a2 display is broken I am able to connect my phone via adb can anyone please tell me command to pull data?
If phone has Oreo, you can boot into TWRP and then pull /data partition content into image, and then expand it or use for pushing.
As current TWRP does not decrypt Pie /data, this won't work for Pie.
For Pie you can only backup user applications and their settings:
Code:
adb backup -apk -shared -all -keyvalue -f .\backup_yymmdd_hhmm.ab
and then try to expand .ab file (search the net)
There is also program called MyPhoneExplorer, but to use it one have to get root and install MyPhoneExplorer android client beforehand - prior to breaking display.

try to use: adb pull /sdcard/
if your device is not completely dead then there is a chance to recover the data by connecting it to PC and use any data recovery software like Android Recovery etc, on it to backup the data.

Have you tried
Code:
adb pull /sdcard/
as @leonardcoutinho suggested? Works for me from PC which was previously authorized for ADB

It says remote object/sdcard/ does not exist

Does that mean that you have not previously authorized the PC to ADB phone? Or even have not got developer state and have not enabled "Debugging via USB" in phone? If that's the case, then I do not see a solution.
