Being unlocked and rooted alone will not prevent you from seeing the OTA notification. However, modifications to the /system and/or /recovery partition will more than likely cause the OTA update to fail when you try to install it.
Most people use fastboot/mfastboot to flash a clean stock version of /system and /recovery (assuming you're using TWRP or similar for root access), then take the OTA to get the update. Once updated, reflash TWRP with fastboot/mfastboot, flash SuperSU from TWRP and you're back in business. This is how I upgraded my rooted and unlocked XT1060 from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4.

What @fury683 has posted is the correct answer..
One thing I will caution you about... IF that is Lollipop, you might want to take a wait and see... to make sure rooting is the same. And/Or do some research first.
Initially, due to security changes, rooting lollipop needed a custom kernel. Later that was supposedly solved. But I haven't followed enough to know the complete details.
Chances are good that once you get Lollipop on there, you want be able to downgrade to 4.4.4 or lower.
Better wait for people to confirm first then. I feel naked when my phone is not rooted.

And actually, I'm confused as to why you are posting that picture... 212.44.26 is KitKat 4.4.4 per Moto -> https://motorola-global-en-uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/100576

Most likely this will NEVER happen. It is too difficult to find a root exploit and if there is an alternative solution there simply is no point for developers to waste their time on that.

And how does that change anything? Rooting 4.4 will most likely be achieved in exactly the same way. So you might as well get root now and then just flash a prerooted version once 4.4 comes out.
One click rooting solutions are provided only when an exploit is found in a firmware. The newer the firmware the harder they are to find, that's why its easier to just use an already discovered one in lower firmware version by downgrading.

Why look for an exploit in 4.3 when most of us will be upgrading to 4.4 within the next 2 months. alot of work looking for an exploit in what is really a temporary firmware for us and could very well be patched up in 4.4, like 4.2 to 4.3 was.
May as well wait for 4.4 and then look for the exploit
Hello,
like the title descripes, i just want to know how i can receive OTA updates again. I'm currently running on stock Android 5.0.2.
The device has an unlocked bootloader and has been rooted(wich has already been undone).
Did i flash the wrong firmware since i had to manually install it because the device was running on cm 12.1?
I know i could simply install the 5.1 firmware but since i don't want to loose all my data and i don't want to **** arround with backups and stuff,
i hope i can get the OTA update to work again.
hope you glory it magicans are able to help me
kind regards
P.S.
Here is a screenshoot with some infos:

How do you know that you won't get any updates with the firmware you've got? As far as I know, Motorola hasn't released the 5.1 update yet, at least not for the XT1068 model that is sold in Germany.
For reasons of comparison, I am on 5.0.2 with my XT1068 as well (never rooted, never unlocked BL), although it states the Baseband-Version to be: "MSM8626BP_1032.3105.93.00R EMEA_DSDS_CUST"
(funny how my device is always recognized as XT1068, although the "1032" suggests it to have the Baseband firmware of another device).
I also have different kernel versions and build numbers:
Code:
Kernel: 3.4.42-gdd242b0
[email protected]#1
Fri Jan 23 13:23:41 CST 2015
System version: 22.26.1.titan_retde.retdeall.en.DE retde
Build number: LXB22.46-28.1
This is an unbranded device, bought in Germany. My system updater app always states that my system software is up to date, so I guess I'll have to wait a little longer for 5.1 to be released on my XT1068 so I can get it OTA.
But basically, there is no reason to believe, your device has already received an update, so it may very well be that you'll get one when it's released. Or, if not, then you may see if you can find another firmware (i.e. the one I have, which runs quite smoothly - I've had only one or two unexpected reboots since I've got the device, and never had any other troubles), then why shouldn't it get an update? Provided that you don't deactivate the Motorola OTA app, which needs to be working for the phone to know when it gets an update.
Hello is it possible to downgrade this new firmware release?
I have already tried all other stock ROMS and ODIN FAILED all time.
I just want to confirm if its possible to downgrade, if yes, then how to go back to 5 1 1.
Thank you for reading

I think it is better to prevent user to downgrade their Phones. As you know, since Android 5.1.1 released, Google replace the Samsung Reactivation Lock with their Factory Reset Protection. But in the lower versions of the android, there is many way to bypass this protection on Samsung Devices. Samsung fixed it on their security patches. Just imagine that if user can downgrade their phone to any version of android, when a thief steals the phone, they can easily to bypass it and make the phone become theirs.
Thank you for replying but I am still clueless if I can downgrade that specific android version I showed in screenshot above.
no one?
Have you tried TEKHD's stock-rooted 5.1.1?
You cannot downgrade... Once bootloader is upgraded there is no way back. You can try but highly you'll end with bricked device ... Also if you try custom roms they wont boot due to mismatch bootloader and recovery. Maybe if you search google you will find a way to do it but if i was you i would not take the risk

THank you so from now onwards 6 0 1 cant be downgraded with the version I posted in screenshot above.
I'm in a bit of a pickle here.
I have ran the update for emui via twrp
Then ran clean system os reset
In fastboot menu the Phone is unlicked but other one isnt.
OEM unlock inf grayed out says to contact to network which i am. Twrp is no longer installed and im unable to downgrade or even re-root the device.
Any ideas?
Would have recommended to read the various threads about Emui 9 already posted here before you decided to upgrade. Currently there is no working twrp and no working root available for Emui 9. It is easy to brick the phone if you try to force install twrp and root it.
OEM unlock is now disabled by default on all Huawei phones running Pie to discourage rooting.
For the time being just use the phone as it is. If you really want to downgrade then there is guide here:

Nice one thanks a lot.
I have unlocked the bootloader prior to upgrade, does that mean that it's locked again?
Never do factory reset on pie. It's written everywhere.

What steps have failed? Magisk Manager does properly patch the MR2 boot.img from the stock firmware. Happy to help if you're running into trouble.
