Audio Starts Loud Then Lowers - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my best friend just got a Nexus 6 not too long ago, but seems to be facing an issue where all Music/Sound starts playing loud when you first start it but after a few seconds the volume becomes very low. We have flashed custom roms as well as used stock and still face the issue. We have searched the forum threads and cant seem to find anything that fixes it.
Any help would be appreciated.

I had this issue and replaced it no problem. This motorola qc is really bad

Hi,
@VeryCrushed , @Tsoflyyup
I have the same problem, Can you try to connect the charger and see if the problem persists? My phone seems to have this problem when the charger is not connected and the battery has a low level.

I had the same problem. However, as soon as i use any custom kernel everything is fixed.

I've used both Sensei and Faux, and it seems to happen on both. Might be a hardware issue?

I think it can be related with the power saving mode, have you tried using the charger and see if the problem persists?

OK, so I plugged the phone in and called; now, not only is the ring not descending, it doesn't ring at all! Called from my landline, my wife's cell, my daughter's cell, and my work cell. No ring! WTF? I guess it's back to square 1...

Oh no my vibrations :(

All my vibrations aren't as strong I guess you could say. And the haptic on the 4 bottom buttons don't vibrate at all when I press them, but what's weird is it makes a slight click noise like its trying to vibrate. Whhat should I do? I updated my cm6 nightly and it didn't change. I'm about to try a different rom. Is this something HTC would fix?

If it's hardware, they'll fix it assuming that it wasn't a software issue that caused the hardware. When I sent my unlocked/rooted device in for rebooting issues, they repaired it free of charge.

[Q] Random Reboots

Is anyone else experiencing random reboots at least once a day? I notice that mine has once in a while averaging maybe one a day. Random times.
At least unlike my old Captivate, it reboots and not just shut off.

Same here. I will be sitting there, and all of a sudden, the LG logo shows up and reboots. I went over to the LG forum and stated it there. May not be a bad idea for others to do the same thing so that they realize it is a widespread problem.

I'm on 10E
It also seems to be an issue on the Optimus 3D and was on the G2X
I am on my second Thrill (that just sounds funny to me) and I have not had the reboot issue with either of them. The first phone had serious GPS issues and was running V10e. The second device has worked perfectly so far, even GPS, and is curiously on V10d. I tried the LG software, and the on device, update and it states I am currently up to date.
I was not aware there even was a V10d version. The full version number is LGP925-V10d-JUL-20-2011.
I don't know if there is any relation to the software version and random reboots. My original V10e device did not experience this issue. I am thinking it must be a combination of software and settings, or truly defective devices. It is entirely possible that it could be related to software syncing (i.e. email, contacts, etc.) or wireless AP causing some sort of memory leak.
Has anyone noticed any heat issues when their device is rebooting?
i have Thrill "not for sale" , not reboot
has anyone ever come up with a solution to fix this problem with the random reboots. I have yet to flash any of the custom roms. due to the fact that i dont know if that will fix this issue. Any info would b greatly appreciated because i really enjoy this device.

[FIX] For Touchscreen Problems

Hey guys i thought i would share a simple fix for the touchscreen problems that people are having. I used to have some problems with my touchscreen on stock, basically sometimes the right side of my touchscreen would be difficult and unresponsive. Im not sure what happened, it seems that after i flashed the Codenamesammy ROM it started to have these problems. I though my first tablet was just faulty so i returned and recieved a new one. I flashed the same rom on it then went back to stock and was having similar problems. I thought to myself that it was a software problem, so here is how i solved it.
Fix
Unlock and root your tablet if have not yet. Flash This using TWRP or CWM.
How it works - Im not entirely sure why this worked even though i was in stock and it had stock drivers. Anyways it replaces the current drivers with the one in the build it has posted.
Credits - I give complete credit to the one who extracted these drivers and posted them.
Thought i might help some of you out with your problems before deciding to RMA it. If this does not work for you then it might be the actual hardware.
Is it still working?
Has anyone tried this fix and can confirm if it has worked for them?

People shouldn't really have to repair their nexus tablets on their own and run the risk of voiding the warranty. You should all have it under warranty.
For me I would keep returning it until I receive one that no longer has any defects, even if it means returning 10 of em. This way Google would see a high amount of returns and hopefully do something about it.

Yes, I have. Those videos I took where after I had flashed the new drivers.
Still getting touchscreen issues after flashing over cm10. In fact it may now be worse. Now I get ghost taps and swipes, apps have a mind of their own. Fortunately turning the screen off and back on seems to clear it up though.

[Q] Speaker Turns on when making call

Hey all,
I recently (2 months ago) got a brand new HTC One. It's been great so far, love it.
Only issue I have is last week it started going to Speakerphone mode when making calls and receiving them. All I have to do is turn off the speakerphone to get it back to earpiece but it's slightly annoying.
I've tried resetting the device to no avail.
I'm running on the Rogers network in Canada running Kit Kat.
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks!

The weird thing is that i have been on 4.4.2 for a while now via ViperOne and this issue has just recently popped up (or so it seems to me). So not sure if this is related to sense based rom running 4.4.2. or something different.
Well I do feel slightly better that I'm not the only one. But also wished I wasn't part of this so special group. Ha!
After a little googling people seem to think it might have something wrong with the docking mechanism.

Mentioning the dock makes me wonder if those who've looked thru the call settings have looked thru the dock settings to see if there is an option there to open with speaker phone on? Or in the headphone or bluetooth settings. My feeling for looking in these places is that if for some reason the device thinks it's connected to one of these devices that could be changing it's behavior? Anyway, I don't think I'm having this issue but I rarely get calls and usually when I do I use speaker phone, but I'm also pretty sure that I'm having to turn it on also.
HTC replied to someone on Twitter to boot into recovery and clear cache who also had reported the problem...they showed instructions on how to get into stock recovery and do it. I'm wondering if anyone can try that. Either stock or custom recovery.

So i guess this is a general sense 4.4.2 issue then and not custom rom, kernel, other specific. Strange that it seems to only start after a random amount of time as i deffinately did not have this issue for quite some time after upgrading to 4.4.2 based rom.

[SOLUTION] Phone shutting down with battery not empty

This solved my problem regarding the phone turning of at 50% battery or 37% etc. You will see after applying the settings the battery percentage will change and show the real battery life.
I got this solution from a Google tech.
1) Power off your phone.
2) Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons. This will put the phone in fastboot.
3) Use the Volume buttons to scroll through the menu until you see "Bootloader logs"
4) Press and hold the power key for a long time (7+ seconds) until the phone reboots.

I returned my phone a few weeks ago because of this issue and got a replacement from Motorola . I do notice certain kernels will create this situation moreso than the stock rom or stock kernel will not create this issue so that's also something to think about.
However, thanks for the insight should my replacement phone display the same symptoms.
Edit: interesting, I just tried your suggestion and my battery went from 91% to 66%.

I actually find them to be silly as you must plug the charger base via USB which I can do with phone! Just another step IMHO including finding the sweet spot when resting on charger.

By using a regular 5v charger instead of the idiotic 5/9/12v charger that came with it.
I am having the below issue.
1. If phone is around the 30% mark, and I receive a call, it would just switch off.
2. If i reboot the phone with it being around 30% mark, it will just switch off after displaying the lockscreen.
Is this behavior that is same as the one in the thread?
I tried the mentioned steps and my battery percentage stayed the same. It also shows the same battery percentage in TWRP.

Yes exactly the same problem. Keep pushing the power button a few seconds longer after phone switches off. My problem was fixed but a week later it came back. For others it was fixed permanently. There's a lot of people with this problem and they keep increasing. I fear that certain wireless chargers are causing it. Are you using a wireless charger?

No I am not using any wireless charger. I only use the turbo charger at home and a 2A N7 charger at work.
I am waiting for 5.1 and will run it for a few days to test . Hope that 5.1 will fix this issue.
Also Google suppport asked me to reboot into safe mode and see if the issue is still there.
Just tried this and it went from 82 to 85%.
I have an issue where the phone turns off at 5%
I have this problem currently with my N6 and it is beyond madding.
First it would do it only when the phone was getting to 30~35% tried the fix.
Now the phone crashes it all the time. 80% crash, charge for a little bit use again 85% crash, charge to 100% use streaming a movie from google play 65% crash. now im going to try a custom rom to see if that will fix it.
tried the fix several time only seems to make it worse.
even with a blank install after reinstalling the stock img the phone will crash.
