Having a weird problem with the Android app for Google+... I left a messaging conversation, and it keeps popping back up when I go back into messenger. This is the case on my tablet, and phone. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing is working. Suggestions?
Bump.

Open google plus
Go to messenger
Long click on the conversation you want gone.
Select leave.
But make sure you are logged out on the other device.
I hope this does what you need.

I've left this conversation several hundred times over the last 4 days. It keeps showing back up. I've cleared data on both devices, and my tablet is actually turned off right now, so logging out isn't the issue.
I have been trying to recreate your problem.
So far, no luck...
Only thing I can think of, maybe the problem isn't on your side but on the side of your conversation partner?
According to google the only way to get back in a conversation is when someone invites you back in.
When you leave a conversation, you’ll no longer receive messages from that conversation and won’t be able to access or view the history of the conversation unless you’re invited back.
Since one-on-one conversations are between you and another person, there’s no way to completely leave them.
I'm just guessing here. Sorry, I wished I could help you.

Might be it, but it was a one liner and it keeps coming back.
I now have another conversation stuck.
Maybe best to post feedback to the google plus app people themselves ? I don't think there's a problem with your setup, just a bug on google's side ?

Do they read that crap? They get TONS of feedback...
If enough people send the same crap, they'll probably notice. if you do find a solution, please let me know. This one intrigues me.

No idea what it is. It happens on my tablet and phone...really annoying. Tried clearing data on everything and no luck...uninstalling/reinstalling, nothing.
Are they working for you? I have got facebook on my xperia z and it all works fine.
No, the don't seem to be coming through for me either. Which is generally annoying. There must be something that can be done. Had a similar problem with my Sensation.

Not sure if there is an issue with FB Sync - im not getting anything through on my galaxy at the moment!
Seems to be working fine for me... Just got a notification for a comment on one of my statuses

I should have explained better, in my case, I do seem to receive notifications, but eventually. They dont seem to be pushed properly. I can tell this because I'll have no notifications at the top, but when I open the facebook app, there are a couple of notifications present. Not the end of the world, but would be interesting to know why
Well yeah. There's no notifications in the notification bar. Annoying to open facebook app to check if you have or haven't got a new message.

Yes, but I was just trying to explain that notifications come eventually, which is different to never at all. Subtle difference but just wondering if that applied to others too.
I made a script to alert me when the Nexus 5 was available, and I figured I'd share the love.
This python script watches 7 different pages, and posts notifications when it detects a change (with the text 'nexus 5'). It posts a message using a twitter account (@n5stock). The cool part about this is you can easily get push notifications in the twitter account, or sms notifications. Based on my tests, notifications were received within ~2 seconds of me sending them.
Basically, there are two ways to get notifications:
Twitter Push Notifications:
Open @n5stock using the twitter app
Follow @n5stock, select 'face' icon on left, and select 'Turn on notifications'
SMS Notifications (works with Google Voice):
Text 40404
Login, or reply with a new username (that doesn't exist)
Text 'ON n5stock'
Here are the pages it's watching:
https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_5_black_16gb
https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_5_black_32gb
https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_5_white_16gb

[Let me know if you have any to add]
Hopefully this helps some people out. I was definitely wasting waayy too much time refreshing / watching news sites for the release.

I signed up earlier today, when I saw it mentioned on GottaBeMobile.
Very ingenious!. Thanks!
.
Last year for the Nexus 4, on release day the sales were supposed to start at 11am ET/8am PT, but REALLY went live about 15 minutes early... When people logged on at 11am ET, Nexus 4 stock was GONE.
For this, you will get a text alert when the Nexus 5 shows up in Google Play. Great idea! :good:

That's good. But GottaBeMobile is a terrible site, they just rehash stories and post any old "rumor" so that they appear regularly in search results, garbage site!

Yup, that was pretty much my thought process. I'm guessing they'll be moving very quickly - selling out will help with publicity, so I'm betting Google will be aiming to do exactly that. I anticipate a similar stock situation to what they had last year.
If people see other urls to watch, let me know. I plan to keep this up after the first batch is sold, and send out alerts when it goes back instock (so don't despair if you miss the first batch).

Not disagreeing with you about the site in general. But this time, the article was helpful. I even re-posted it in another forum. So, funny seeing the guy who made the in-stock script here.
Can't wait for this phone!
I really hope this won't be necessary until after the announcement. It would be pretty bad for them to announce and release the phone at the same time.
Thanks much for the script, should be very helpful!

I tried searching for this issue but I am not finding anything. After updating to Android 4.4, I am having some kind of texting issue about 50% of the time. What happens is, I am typing a text message in landscape mode and I hit send and nothing happens. I flip the phone and when it goes into portrait mode, the text area goes black (keyboard is still active at the bottom of the screen). I also cannot backspace in the message. All 3 of these effects happen together as a result of some weird glitch. I can hit the home button, then go back into that text thread and there's no draft saved. The second attempt is always successful. This only happens in text messaging. I'm using the standard built-in keyboard and I do not have Google Hangouts linked to my text messaging. I have no idea how to fix this. Any help is appreciated.

T-Mobile HTC One 4.4 texting issues after update
I am also having texting problems too after the update. I still text using "phone" which is the old school flip phone t9 method. Several major and annoying problems have occurred after the update. First issue, auto space is forced and can't be turned off so after making up words or trying to add punctuation it will put a space and I have to back up and erase the space. The other issue is some simple words like "go" and "am" won't generate when trying to create the words using t9 also known as "phone"
I need this problem resolved or I will go nuts
I am having FCs when opening messages

T-Mobile HTC 4.4 update issues
I don't want to have to download 3 party texting applications when the stock HTC texting app is perfectly fine up until this defective 4.4 update.
They said some people were experiencing issues. I just suggested using a third party until an update either for the phone or the individual app comes out.

if a factory reset doesnt help only your carrier can help
Well, I did a factory reset and it was good for a couple of days and now it's starting to do the same thing again. Any other ideas? Do I have to talk to Verizon and/or HTC now? I've had the phone for about 5 months now. I feel like if I could just reinstall the 4.4 update that would fix the issue.
Google Messages v--4.1.067 (Ettin_RC12_xxhdpi.arm64-v8a.phone) on Galaxy S10
When I open a chat with a person and tap on the "write a message" text box, instead of the text box coming up simply, the text box comes up AND it gives me the option tray of copy, paste, web search, etc. This is the thing you usually get if you double tap or press and hold. I'm getting it with a single tap and it's kinda annoying. Can anyone reproduce this? Any idea for a fix?
I have the same issue, pops up on both the stock messaging app AND google messages.
This is an issue with the March Security update or at least I hope it's an issue and not something new. I've made a post about it in the S10+ forum but haven't seen many responses to it. For me it happened every time I touched in a text field to bring up the keyboard. I know 2 other people that have the same issue after updating as well. I've rolled back to the February patch for now as it was pretty annoying for me.

Thank goodness, I thought I was the only one experiencing this. It is quite annoying.
So I've been digging into this a little and it appears to be a bug with Samsung's Clipboard History service. I can't figure out how to disable it. I tried disabling a few things using ADB with no luck. If you go into your clipboard history and "Delete All" it will no longer be an issue. I don't know if anyone knows how, but if there's a non-root method to remove Samsung's clipboard service it'll 'fix' the issue for now.

Sadly I already disabled it using ADB method to no avail. I mean I could give it a try though. I'd have to re-enable it and see if it stops it.

If I delete all the clipboard, I still get a pop-up with the "auto fill" option.
I too have heard that this is a problem with the March update. I hope it's a problem as well, and not a feature.

Yeah, I discovered this shortly after my post. I wasn't using the autofill service at first. But if you get rid of your password autofill service it'll go away lol. General Management > Language and Input > Autofill Service and set it to "None". This is a work around, but Dashlane people don't have to use the autofill service.
Its a sh itty work around but whatever. I can't figure it out. I hope it's fixed in April update.

Can anyone confirm? Also, is this a Google Messages app issue at the moment? A feature?
Does anyone have a version of Google Messages that doesn't do this? I can revert back.

Does this happen any where else besides the message app? I was having this issue in any text field that required me to tap in it to bring up the keyboard. I tried both Gboatd and Samsung keyboards and they both did the same. Can't remember if I tried the stock message app or not. I've rolled back to the Feb patch and will keep ignoring the update until it's fixed.

No I don't use Gboard. I just realized my phone sort of does this but I never knew it. The first thing I do when I get a phone is remove the Samsung dialer, messages, etc, and install Google Dialer and messenges. Up till I played around with it upon reading your post I never touched the message area before starting to type, I've never had to. For the heck of it this morning, I touched that area and the paste clipboard pop-up appeared. Like I said, I never see that because I just start typing and never saw it that way.
This has been from the first time I used the phone on the original software.

When I open Google Messages and tap on a chat to open, it opens the chat with the keyboard hidden. I have to tap on the text box at the bottom of the page to activate the keyboard. Gboard, Samsung keyboard, and SwiftKey have the same behavior.
