Love this watch but this one issue is driving me crazy. Very often I'll swipe away notifications from the Gmail app(yahoo mail account, not gmail) and they just come right back, or I'll get them multiple times. I don't have any problems dismissing these notifications on my phone, just on my watch. Anyone else having issues like this? Any ideas?

I am getting almost zero email notifications on the watch. I will occasionally get the list of emails (useless) type notification and then just a few individual emails about 2 hours after I received them. No idea what the issue is.

which phone are you using. is your phone received the mail notification? do note that your g watch notification is tied to your phone..check your phone and see what is your sync frequency.
Downloaded an app call WearMail that is definitely improving things but for some reason doesn't include an option for Outlook mail.
You know, after getting 300 email notifications on my watch, 98% of which I don't care about, I decided to disable email notifications completely. I mean, whats the point? I can just check my phone from time to time. The call and sms notifications are the ones I'm really interested in.
Hello. I've had my phone for about a week now. I don't have much on it yet. Just a few apps and gmail. I have noticed that I am not getting a lot of gmail notifications. I'll get some here and there, but I do not get notified whenever I get gmail. I just looked on my computer and had three emails sitting in my inbox and didn't get a single notification for any of them. Sometimes it's fine. When I turn on the screen, the notifications will suddenly appear. I can see the lock screen is blank, and then the notifications will show up.
Anyone have any idea what might be going on with this? My wife is also having a lot of problems with twitter notifications. She'll turn on her phone in the morning and the notifications will come pouring in, one after another. It can take up to a minute for all of them to show up. She hasn't indicated that she has any problems with gmail.
We're both coming from Note 4s and never had any notification issues.
Thanks
Power saving is probably killing apps from running in the background. See if you can tweak the power saving settings so it's less aggressive, or if you can put GMail and Twitter on a whitelist so they won't get closed.
Try going into setting/apps/ top right corner menu button - special permission
go to battery optimization/ all apps
then disable your preferred app
So far Note 8 has been killing the apps to 'save battery' so notification isn't being pushed. I'm having the same issue. this helped a bit but sometimes still misses notification.
if you really want to push it more then go to battery monitor and put it into white list where the phone doesn't shut it down.
I'm still trying to figure out a solid fix but this is the solution so far with my research.
Went from a Note 8 to the Note 9, anyone else notice that some notifications are super disruptive and find the setting to resolve? Maybe I'm just missing something, but seems like notifications like facebook for example are awful.
Doesn't seem to matter if it's youtube, VLC, Poweramp, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc. If I get a facebook notification, as it's the worst, it will pause my currently playing movie/music/video for a good 2-3 seconds and then resume playing. I didn't have this on the Note 8 and it's driving me nuts lol.
I figure it has to be a os setting issue (as all notifications do this) but I can't find a way to change it other than disabling all notifications all together.
I'm having the same issues. Was hoping this thread wasn't empty.
I was having the same problem. If you go into Settings > Notifications, you can manage notifications for each app. I don't remember for sure, but I think just about all of my apps' notifications were ON by default! I shut them all of, then re-enabled just the ones on wanted! Sometimes you individual apps will also have different settings for notifications, too. But at least going into settings allows you to just shut them all down for an app. Thank goodness! No more Facebook notifications! Just be careful what you shut off. I shut off messages by mistake. I wondered why I wasn't getting notified when I got a text.
Sporadically since I got the Note9, notifications have been acting up. Today it kicked into overdrive so I'm hoping someone knows what's going on.
For Twitter, I get notifications from specific users that stack in one column in my notifications. I've never had an issue with these, but today, after I tap them and view the tweet, a few seconds later they reappear in the bar like I never accessed them.
Instagram and Facebook keep showing the same notifications, hours after I view them. For instance, a friend posted a picture at 1pm today and I viewed it and the notification disappeared. Then, just now at 4pm, it popped up and notified me about the same picture again, along with 4 others I had viewed/cleared throughout the day. Instagram acts almost identically.
Android Messages will repeat notifications when I open the actual app. So if I receive a text, next time I open the app, that text will pop up as a notification complete with the sound and visuals.
I thought it could be issues with the individual apps, but with the frequency increasing and it happening with multiple apps from different developers I'm thinking it may be the phone or OneUI. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing this?
A few times a day, a Gmail notification appears in the notification area (top of screen) and also as a button on on the icon for the Gmail app. When I expand the notification, all it is for is that Gmail is Syncing. The notification automatically disappears when finished syncing. Is there a way to disable that particular syncing notification? It makes me think that I have a new email, and only way to tell is by viewing the notification, or waiting to see if it disappears.
I think this started happening ever since I added a second account.
I am on updated, stock, un-rooted Android.
Thank you,
try playing with the notifications settings for it - there's one for miscelanious, but it might remove the normal notifications for new mails too...
