auto screen off not working - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I smashed my screen and had it repaired by SPS Mobiles via their ebay service. (£70!)

Restore to factory settings. If that doesnt work, repair it with pc companion as its totally a software issue

Wifi connection lost after KitKat update

It started to appear after three days after KitKat update.. Suddenly the phone doesn't detect any wifi signal.. Even when I'm setting beside the router.. And then I have to go to settings to choose the network again and connect to it.. Is that a common bug with you guys or it's just me? And is there any solution because it's really annoying

No such issues here, did you drop your mobile recently?

Try resetting router if you haven't already.

Well it's definitely not from the router.. It happened with 3 different networks and and my own network is fine.. I'm operating with it on my laptop

Seems to be a hard issue to me, try flashing it once if not take it to the service center.

It is definitively update - not hrdware issue, nor droping or getting it wet
It started after kitkat, it lists WiFi but out of range, even reconecting is not working. Only on/off / than it is OK.
Not always , just from time to time - when she feels like it...
Same story with ringing in ear pice not loudsaker...
BUT THERE IS CONSIENT BUG!
Alarm is not turning screen on , when on button - lockscreen, when unlock - no allarm conols....
Have to turn phone off than on to silence.
Where is the fiox promised for 7th of Ap...

Check developer options
i checked.But nothing changed

There are some apps providing battery statistics. The best ones (BetterBatteryStats and Battery Stats Plus) can only be installed if you have root access but there might be others. These apps tell you what's consuming so much power. Don't get me wrong. I don't mean apps that actively change your phone config to save power. To begin with you only need statistics that help troubleshooting.
You might want to tell us more about your phone, is it rooted? Is it running stock?

Keep screen off when plugging in charger?

I'm looking for something to disable my screen switching on when I attach in my magnetic charger.
I'm not sure why it annoys me so much, but it does. Anybody have any recommendations?
Thanks!

unfortunately there is no option for this on official firmware
but there is such option in cyangenMod rom setting.
:good:
Nightmare, just flashed and set up kitslim. Was hoping there would be an xposed module or something

use gravitybox. I think it's available there.
Screen Tweaks from Xposed has this option
Checked gravity box and couldn't see that option anywhere.
Screen tweaks seems only to be for the Z1C, I tried it on my z1 and it changed nothing

After change options, you need to restart the phone.
It seems to be working now, think it must have been a ROM issue.
Cheers!

It's good to know that's its working on your Z1 now.
I am using Trinity Raptor ROM and the developer already included the Screen Tweak on the package.

What message app are you using? Regardless, use another message app, see if the problem goes away.

S Voice issues

So before I update to Lollipop. I wanted to find out if anyone has a fix. All of sudden Svoice wake hands free isnt working properly. I say hi samsung, it wakes but wont listen unless I depress the mic button. Defeating the hands free benefit. It has just started occuring and has opened and listened and completed the command as it should since I've had the unit. I wonder if anyone has a fix or advice. Thanks. I searched and only found hits where Svoicw wouldn't wake.
