I have an LG g2 running 4.4.2 and I previously tried to run towelroot I guess it left a su file under xbin in system files and I read that that will block stump root from running because it says it's already rooted when it's not my question is what can I do I need to 're root but can't root using any method at all also when I try to root it says that it couldn't verify the signatures

I'll start off and say this strange. Root checker says I'm not rooted. The superuser app says I'm not rooted. The thing is I've been able to edit the build.prop, install safestrap, custom boot animation through rom toolbox pro, and I think a few other things. There are some root things I can do and others that I can't. I've never seen anything like this before.

I have a similar situation also a first for me, have root apps working but some not. Voodoo OTA Root Keeper says I'm Rooted but root checker says NO and busybox agrees. Investigating forums has left me wondering which ways to finish getting root All The Way back are safe? Would love to hear from a few more who had this problem and found a way around it.

Glad I'm not the only one who is having this issue.

If root got broken by the JB update and none of the Voodoo restore methods are working then you're going to have to re-root via the new Motoshare2 exploit: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/16518-root-motoshare-2-old-bug-new-exploit/
I managed to get root, install Safe Strap, then lose root. With safe strap I was easily able to open my prior rom that has root. Of I where to move my OTA Rootkeeper file, would I be able to restore root on the unsafe side (default jb)?

Hi guys,
I just went into system apps, via Solid Explorer to grab an apk to put on my dev-host, when I got an error saying that I don't have root access.
I tried accessing other files in system root to get the same error. So I downloaded Root Checker and for some reason that's also saying that I don't have root access.
I know for a fact I have though as I've just been using root only features in ROM Toolbox Pro without an issue.
Any ideas as to why it's saying I don't have root access when I clearly do?
I'm on stock 4.2.2 and used the rooting tools in mike1986.'s thread to root once I'd flashed the stock ROM.

I downloaded the deodexed version which had superuser installed by using the rooting tools.
I flashed it a few days ago and have had no issues with being rooted until now. As I say, I'm still rooted but my phone's telling me I'm not and I'm not sure why.

It already had the permissions from when I first installed solid explorer.
I just found out what my problem was. Superuser was installed by default and I downloaded SuperSU afterwards and must've disabled superuser and therefore was getting partial unroot issues.
I've now uninstalled superuser and I've got full access back

Rooted my Note 3 using Towel root. Installed Supersu. Root Checker says I have root Access. However, I cannot update the SU binary. I do not have TWRP or CW Mod . Any suggestion? SU
is granting permissions.
Did u trip knox?

I heard that the SuperSU version on the play store does not currently work and you have to download 1.99r4 from somewhere.
OP probably didn't follow directions.

KNOX is 0x0. I can't find the SU 1.99 apk. Can only find zip.

Yeah, you remove the SuperUser.apk file from the Common folder in that ZIP file, and put it on an SD card, or drop it on your phone somewhere over USB, make sure the SuperSU you currently have installed is uninstalled, and then install the APK you transferred over, that will fix the issue.
Its to my understanding you do not need superuser the towelroot has its on built in superuser its working fine for me without the playstore superuser ...on a dif note does the safestrap work with this towelroot? Att note 3 kk ota.
Thanks everyone. Got the apk for SU 1.99r4 and it works fine now.

Yes it does

Yes but now you grant su to any program without permissions. If you never get malware that's okay I guess... Just iffy

Where did you get the apk? I'm having the same problem.
Use safestrap2 and flash supersu
Superuser 2.0 is available on the playstore now.
Curious to see if anyone else has lost root after the latest supersu update? Rebooting did not change anything. I'm unable to use any root apps (xposed, root explorer, etc).
Any ideas?
Thx!

You should tell is if you are using a root exploit (and which one), what android version you are on, and whether or not you are BL-Unlocked.
I can tell you that my unlocked devices had no issues updating SuperSU, and root apps still work fine.
(I'm guessing you are locked since your signature says "Status 0")....but please confirm.

Oh, great! So problem solved, or are you seeking a solution to work with the most recent SuperSU?
I would rather use supersu, but so long as super user from click clockworkmod works, its all the sane for me.
Thx for the reply though.
I had to uninstall supersu, install super user, attempt to install it, reboot, make sure have root access via root explorer, install xposed, install adaway, soft reboot.

Hello,
i bought an XT894 from USA, it is coming with 4.0.4 ICS installed. I would like to install cyanogenmod, but i saw the guide and it is for 4.1.2. So i tried to update the phone (from android) and it says there are some errors. I tried to root it using "ics404root" and it says that phone is rooted, but root checker says "Sorry! the device does not have proper root access.". What should i do? If the phone is not rooted i can't install safestrap
