i have xperia 6602 the .283 MEA version, i have rooted the phone and installed twrp recovery on it, everytime i install a kernel or rom other than the stock, i get a soft brick, then i have to flash the stock FTF file through the flashtool then its working, no matter what i do it seems to be bricking my phone wither i use kernel or full rom, i think i have the locked bootloader type (i dunno if this is related to my issue) and i do make sure i download for my .283 version in most cases

Wrong forum bro, this is for development, not for Q&A.
Anyway, u can check ur bootloader status by type *#*#7378423#*#* in dialer (*#*#service#*#*)
Then tick service info
Then tick configuration
U will see bootloader status there
For other questions, use search function or use Q&A forum
Best regards

You have to unlock the bootloader before you can install non-stock kernels. Search in the forum on how to unlock the bootloader. As the person above said, go to the service menu and check if it say Bootlocker unlock allowed = Yes or No. If it says No, then you are stuck and can only install stock based roms. If it says Yes, then you have to manually unlock the bootloader once using step by step guides available on xda or sony.

Hello.
I searched some but i could not find the answers so hopefully i can get them in this post.
Well what i was wondering about is: I have unlocked my bootloader the official way. Let´s say i wanna relock it again, flashing a stock kernel.sin and using flashtool to relock it.
What method is then used to Unlock it again if you would wanna do that ? And i dont want guesses here i want solid facts of what works and not.
/Jonas740
I just use FlashTool to unlock and relock after officially unlocking it the Sony way. I haven't experienced anything odd or harmful doing it this way. Seems to be nice and safe. Currently my Z1 is rooted, stock kernel, dual recovery installed and bootloader locked and it's working great!
dual `?

Dual installer recovery ?
Im kinda newb but wont root go away if you apply stock kernel ? what kernel are you using. had a hard time finding stock ones. Unless you mean to just extract from a ftf file.

On Locked Bootloader you can use Custom Roms with Stock Kernels as it is the only one kernel what you can use on Locked Bootlader.

Ye but do you extract stock kernels from the ftf´s available or will it just wipe the kernel if you flash a ftf from the big ftf list ?
Before flashing JUST the kernel from the Global Generic FTF posted here I flashed (in recovery from ADV Stock Kernel) NUT's dual recovery for Z1 from here: http://nut.xperia-files.com/
Then after stock kernel flashed I relocked bootloader in FlashTool and still have access to recovery if I need it (say I lose root) and can always reflash Update SuperSU from recovery and booyah!! Root restored though I never lost root but if I do I can get it back super easy!!

I don't know what exactly you mean. If you want to keep your kernel you can flash any Stock FTF and exclude Kernel in Flashtool, that will wipe the system but the kernel will remain the one you have, it's called Dirty Installation.
If you have Custom Rom with Custom Kernel and you want, for example, relock your bootloader then with Flashtool flash the Stock Kernel only, how? Just use any Stock FTF, put it in Flashtool folder, select the FTF and exclude everything and leave just kernel clicked, it will flash just the Stock Kernel from the whole Stock FTF.
Done.
I have just purchased xperia z1 and has updated it to latest .757 and wants to root my mobile. May be this type of questions are already posted but i find some questions in my mind before rooting so I want too clear it out so that i may not be left with a bricked device
1. can the c6903 firmware be flashed on my c6902 without any problem ( such flash was not applicable on my galaxy ace and there was no any correct way, you are left with a bricked device, but I see only c6903 threads)
2. if so , can i flash the link of ftf on NUT thread (it is c6903 ftf----- else i have to go to ftf mega collection and flash c6902 IN ftf?
3. can the flash tool unlock and lock bootloader so that i get my warranty again ( will i loose root after locking bootloader ?)
4. does unlocking bootloader crashes camera? ( i think i read months before that 20,7 mp stop working)
5. if unlocking bootloader crashes camera shall i install Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.7.123-BETA.flashable.zip (8.47MB) from this site http://nut.xperia-files.com/ from flashtool ... if so plz tell how ..
6. how can i relock bootloader, if i unlock it?
7. what flashiing ftf withou ta means?
8. does flashing kernel, recovery and ftf are same ways i.e just put them in flashtool/firmware path and use "flash" button and follow flashing..(please do elaborate here, if u can add pics thanks). I read the noobs guide but it was for xperia x10.
9. After rooting-- flashing recovery-- all i have to do is wipe data, dalvik cache and install rom
10. i also got my back glass cracked due to my phone getting placed under my bed table while studying... i read many T&C of accidental warranty policy,, so is this reason a valid reason to get warranty,, how much will be the cost of changing back glass as accidental warranty is only 1 time useable..
At last thanks for giving your precious time and clearing my doubts

1. You are sure you did it this way as said under point 2?
2. It depends.
As far as I know - most base of all base rules is to stick to proper kernel.
Locked BL requires kernel for locked bootloaders.
All parts of ROM has to be consistent together. system, boot, kernel ...
Either for locked or for unlocked BL. Mixing stock and custom ROM parts is very unhealthy.
I think you need to know if the device enters in flashmode, next would be flash a new stock rom ftf with flashtool.
If the steps are OK you should have your device fixed, and have the bad xperience mixing lb ub Kerns could be....
Hope 2 have helpd you

My phone still unroot and locked Bootloader and Im made mistake upgrade to latest official stock ROM lollipop 5.1.1 bec im having overheat issues, battery draining and weird popup. then im about want to downgrade to kitkat and flash ftf firmware with root.
1) Do i have to Backup TA before i use flashtool? i think if i do flashtool, i will lose DRM keys like sony features? (for locked bootloader)
2) What meaning by 'pre-root' firmware? (*sorry about this. it look new word to me*)
3) without root phone and unlocked BL, is it possible to use PRFCreator? (link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/development/c6943-368-official-lollipop-5-1-1-t3218004)
I made decide not to unlocked bootloader bec i know its risk to lose but i want to keep it simple only.

you only need to backup your ta partition if you plan to unlock your bootloader. By Unlocking your bootloader you will lose your DRM keys. Anyways having a backup of your ta portion isn't nothing bad.
Using flashtool and flashing a stock firmware will not unlock your bootloader.
2]
A stock firmware comes unrooted. Pre rooted means that the firmware comes with root integrated.
3]
PRF Creator is a Programm you use under windows
4]
You have to understand what a ftf file and a flushable zip means.
Ftf files are flashed with flashtool.
Flushable zip files need a custom recovery to flash. For example twrp or cwm or philz recovery. To get a custom recovery on your phone your phone has to be rooted.

PRF Creator is a stand alone Programm that doesn't require a phone.
It only needs files as input and the result is a flashable zip you must flash with a custom recovery

No.
This zip will launch a program called aroma installer. With this program you will be asked what you want to install.
For example the description of iHackers rom says that you have to choose between stock or custom kernel.
3]
To flash a custom rom or custom bootloader you must unlock your bootloader first. If not you can't flash anything custom.
You can unlock your bootloader with flashtool. For that you need the unlock key for your bootloader. You do this in fastboot mode with the help a flashtool.
Flashing a ftf the phone is in flashmode.
Fastboot mode and flash mode are two different states you can put your phone at.

I am not sure. As far as I understand yes if you choose locked bootloader.
Maybe some other member can help here too.
But to flash the zip you need a custom recovery. For a custom recovery you need root to install it.
Post #4 at ihackers rom Threads mentions the step to flash the rom on a phone with locked bootloader. Not that easy!
Answer is Yes. I've already tried iHackers ROM on my Z1 w/ locked bootloader. I don't want to be rude or anything but all your questions are answerable by going through some basic reading materials that are all available in XDA. I strongly recommend you do your reading first. We don't want you coming back at us saying you now have an expensive paper weight, or that you have lost some important audio, video, image, SMS, MMS, Contact, etc. on your phone. It would really help alot if you read the iHackers ROM thread as well.
You did state on your initial post that you want to keep things simple. Then I suggest rooting your phone, get rid of the apps you won't ever use and just keep it stock.

I just want to answer this and sum it all up.
Do i have to Backup TA before i use flashtool? i think if i do flashtool No, you don't need to Backup your TA partition to use Flashtool. Flashtool works for both locked & unlocked bootloaders.
i will lose DRM keys like sony features? (for locked bootloader) I'll treat this as a separate question. Yes when you unlock your bootloader you will loose your DRM keys, which is why you need to backup your TA partition first before you unlock your bootloader. But as I mentioned earlier - No, you don't need to backup your TA partition if you will not unlock your bootlader. And -No, it is not needed to be able to use flashtool.
What meaning by 'pre-root' firmware? It means it is a stock Firmware that has root access. It is basically your stock firmware that was ran through PFRCreator.
without root phone and unlocked BL, is it possible to use PRFCreator? It's basically like this... NOTE: This is a not-so-details procedure but it will give you an idea on what the PRFCreator is. So the answer is Yes, it is possible to use PRFCreator with a locked bootloader but you need to have a rooted phone with a custom recovery so you can flash the pre-rooted 5.1.1 *.zip file you made, then flash the 5.1.1 FTF using Flashtool
1. Install flashtool
2. Download a 5.1.1 FTF using XperiFirm (it's an icon in Flashtool that opens a FTF downloader that automatically unpacks and makes you a FTF that you can flash on your phone)
3. Download PFRCreator
4. Using PRFCreator you basically create your very own pre-rooted 5.1.1
5. Now you have Two(2) files - the flashable *.ZIP file (the file generated by PRFCreator) and the 5.1.1 FTF you have downloaded earlier
6. You will need to root your phone and install a custom recovery partition on your phone so you can flash the *.zip file you have created using PRFCreator, then flash the 5.1.1 FTF using flashtool
7.
Hi!
I've a Trojan (Qysly.BX) on my Xperia E1.
I've scanned it with some app antivirus, but I wasn't able to remove it because I haven't rooted it or, better, I was thinking so.
I rooted my Xperia, but I'm still with my trojan.
What can I do?
Reflash a firmware (or ROM using recovery)
You can also remove the "virus" using TWRP recovery with file manager

Also rooting voids my warranty and I've already done it!!! In each case, it will terminate soon.
Can I reflash my firmware without data loss?
I was been making a backup of all my data.
Where can I find the 20.1.A.2.19 firmware for my smartphone?
Is there a guide about how to reflash it?
Can be this? https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1AAC4lt7nzORGdfZGZSTndzTHc/view?usp=sharing
I need to follow this instruction?:
a) download and install latest Flashtool
b) download the 20.1.A.2.19 for Sony XPERIA E1
c) paste the ftf file downloaded in step b) to folder „Firmware“ included in the XPERIA Flashtool
d) open the XPERIA Flashtool, click on flash and choose downloaded firmware, than click ok. Important - if you do not want to delete any data of your phone, just uncheck flashing userdata.sin file. All data will remain in your phone, but sometimes it can cause additional troubles. So it is better (and I recommend that) to do the backup of your personal data, than proceed with clean instalation and then restore your personal data.
e) turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button
f) after few minutes all is done and your phone gets the new firmware
Can someone tell me if there is something wrong and if this firmware is what I need?
It depends.
D2005 = Single
D2105 = Dual
Like I've said you can flash a new firmware to get rid of that nasty virus, this is also (somewhat) better than using custom ROMs (yes, for a while I used my ROM Cheetah, but It seems official firmware is more stable)
