I need to have my phone set to 3G to be able to send texts. I can receive them on any network setting.
Anyone else experience this issue?

This has happened on a few VZW phones and the only way to fix is to flash a stock rom/reactivate. So... yeah.

I am not rooted if that makes a difference.
So I would need to factory reset and then get with Verizon to reactivate the SIM?

Go into settings then SMS then access point names. I use T-Mobile and for some reason metropcs was selected. Try to select the AP that fits your carrier

APNs are set by the SIM on Verizon, this is neither an option nor needed.
The APN setting that needs to be changed is within google hangouts

I wasn't using Hangouts, but I tried it. The APN was already set to VZW (there were a dozen APNs in settings, but all the same). I tried it on LTE, but still no dice.

It has to deal with the activation, i'm sure. This has happened to me once or twice on my N2 and S3. I had to reflash back to a completely stock FW, reactivate, and flash back. No clue how it works, but it sounds like it happens when activating the phone. If this happens, there might not be a fix since there is no VZW FW/activation/etc. I spent ages playing in APN and cell settings (the hidden one in dialer.)
Try this, send a text, let it hang, and then toggle LTE off and then back to on again. If it sends, this issue is most likely very similar to those other issues on Samsung.

So, I'm back up and running on MJ5 -- everything seems fine.. except:
The phone constantly says roaming not on and
I cannot send or receive texts.
When I check mobile networks -- CDMA settings are there.. when I search for APNs -- I find them and the ATT settings appear to be right.
any ideas?
thx

agreed.. interestingly enough.. the solution was a factory reset from INSIDE the ROM. In other words, booted up -- in settings.. factory reset.
So strange
Has anyone been able to successfully flash this to boost mobile yet? I'm thinking of buying one tomorrow and was wondering if it has already been done.
Actually I figured it out. Completely full flash with working mms and 3g. I will post a guide if anyone wants me to?

The only other HTC that I ever flashed was the m7 and its exactly like that. The only issue is I can't get sms to work - which is weird because I've never had a problem with that on any device. 3g and talk are good. Sms is hit or miss. Anyone have any possible solutions? Toggling Airplane mode works sometimes, but not consistently...

it's workiing !!! Great i will upload video soon cusomter has 3 differnte phones with the same data profile so speeds on the htc are showing 1x FOR SOME REASON but i will obviously tackle the issue to get full evdohttp://youtu.be/fCMijT9mVm4
Can anyone confirm sms is working?
I have also succesfully flashed an HTC One M8 to Boost but I wanted to experiment with an LTE donor phone to see if it would give me LTE on my One. To my surprise it did! I managed to get almost everything to work (Call, Text, SMS, MMS, 3G, partial 4G). I say partial 4G as I manage to receive an LTE signal (I can confirm) for about 10 minutes and then I get a notification saying "Invalid Sim Card." This message also popped up on my HTC M7 when I tried the same procedure on it. I was digging through the donor phone's settings and the M8's and I noticed that the IMEI's don't match. Could this be the reason for the drop in LTE signal? If our fellow flashers could help me sort this final issue out I will not hesitate to release the steps that I took to get an active LTE signal on a Boost Mobile flashed phone. Thanks!

What method did you use? I tried flashing the m8 awhile back and had issues with sms. I had talk and 3g, but for some reason I couldn't send or receive text messages. I used the open sesame door method, then replaced files 0 and 1943 with those that contain my info. Afterwards, I went into DFS and wrote mdn, min, and 3g settings.
When you went into QPST to find NV items 0 and 1943, you zeroed them out first right? I used the exact same method as the M7. Write NV items from the donor phone, zero out the ESN, write the ESN, and finally use QPST to write the profiles.

Actually I'm not sure. I have a file that contains my donor information for items 0 and 1943, so I'm pretty sure I just deleted them on the M8 and replaced them with donor info without actually zeroing them out first. After that, I went into DFS and immediately edited the mdn, min, and profile info.
I would say that you should try zeroing out the ESN first and then writting it cause I've never had an issue when doing this method.

Okay so I did what you said, but now I'm getting a wicked error 16 message. Normally I would just stay on with customer service and they would have me power down the phone then turn it back on in a few minutes and the error would go away. This time that hasn't happened at all. I loaded a boost prl into the phone manually but I still haven't had any luck. You have any suggestions?
EDIT: I got it taken care of. Customer Service gave me a new msid. Do you guys still have that nagging hands free activation?
I activated my phone OTA so that got rid of that pesky notification.

For some reason my network doesn't seem as stable as my note 4 was when I reboot my phone it takes awhile to connect and someone texts fail to send and also MMS don't download unless I go to my carrier settings and update device config then MMS downloads

Duplicate text's is an issue many of us have had. Please let Sprint know you're experiencing the issue here: https://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/179054
Also, try switching to LTE and see if anything changes. I've been on LTE since N5 and have never had issues. I'm also not ruling out #blameSprint as a culprit.

I switched it to LTE rebooted and still same problem
It takes a while for my phone to connect to, by the time I enter my password and view the home screen signal is back. I have experience text message error, even when I am in an area with 4 bars LTE. I haven't had any MMS issues yet. This may be due to Sprints abysmal network.
Seemed to temp fix mine by using 3g only texts send no problem and i can actually stream pandora without it skipping every second
Can't believe internet is faster on 3g
That's a network issue on Sprints part. Buddy of mine had an S4 with no LTE but 3G worked. The sim card ID was incorrect on their end. They reset it correctly and everything works.

It is a known issue and many of us are hoping for a fix. So to answer your question in short, no. However, if you use hangouts, you can configure your APN settings within the hangouts settings. This may help. Also forcing 3G when sending texts is a temp fix.
Oh OK. Thanks bro. Yea I figured by now sprint woulda fixed it but I'll try hangouts

For some reason I'm not receiving calls. If I reboot my phone it'll work fine, but I don't know for how long unless someone leaves a vm. I have no idea what's causing it, nothing has really changed but I also don't know how long I've been having the problem. I'm running pure nexus rom and Franco kernel if it makes any difference. Any ideas?

What carrier and is this while you're on WiFi?
AT&T and I'm not sure.. I know that it's happened when I've been on wifi, however I can't say it's always the case since I don't necessarily know I missed a call.

On Verizon I only saw this on the 5.0-5.1 builds using VOLTE. Turned off VOLTE and all was good. Not seeing it now on 5.1.1 stock. If running ASOP no telling.
I had the same issue with a G3, but can't remember anything about it or how I fixed it.

I found that the modem/radio I'm using is for t-mobile and wifi calling, so that could be the issue. It's questionable though since it does work, just not always. You'd think if I had the wrong modem it just wouldn't work.

When running a rom these type problems should be posted in the rom thread. Once move from stock we have no option but to have you return to stock to troubleshoot. Once the base system is modified we have no way to troubleshoot it. I run stock rooted with kernel. If something broke it Google or the kernel. You have rom that could be many things. Bad flash, Dirty flash. ect.

Actually, that's to be expected. Every build will work with every carrier, just certain features won't work. Updates are based on your sim.

I tried a stock rom for testing and it seemed to work, but since I don't always know when I miss a call it's incredibly hard to narrow down. It works every time I call it, so it seems completely random that it doesn't work.

Yes it should work. The differences in the builds are in the telephony and ril builds of the software.
