First off I love my nexus but seeing how Verizon isn't supporting the n6 yet, I'm curious as to what Roms are vzw friendly? I'm cautious to flash...and being a flashaholic, that's not good.

Well with VZW we are missing somethings and for us to get data and voice together have to wait for Advance Call 1.0 so no rom has this...but to me this is the better rom:
Very clean/stable/great tweaks. Add a custom kernel for more fun!

They should all work fine. For whatever random reason a handful of people have issues in some aosp roms but it's not everyone.

Data issues no. But I for ones on VZW can't get LTE but if your not VZW no worries. Even with no LTE data is good but for me the loss of voice and data kills me as a mobile business agent. Those for kid/fun then no worries its all good.
I'm fine on stock rooted with Franco kernel with LTE. That's what I'm worried about. Losing my LTE would kill me being a grandfathered UDP. I guess I'll wait to flash.

I'm not losing LTE on any ROM. What ROMs are losing LTE? I get LTE everywhere w/ every ROM. I didn't get data at all on Pure Shamu V3.5 but that's been fixed. Make a backup and flash away, you've got nothing to lose, if it doesn't work then go back.
I'm on Broken OS ROM, Sensei kernel. LTE works fine on VZW.
I am on Euphoria Rom with inlcuded Lean Kernel, I have no issues with LTE or XLTE on unlimited plan.

Pure Shamu gives me LTE but when I cut down my original micro sim to a nano it did not. when I got a true nano sim then the LTE appeared so me me I think the sim card was the issue.

You will know. XDA nexus 6 thread will blow up.
Rasta and Terminus work fine for me.
Pureshamu worked for me. Sabermod unoffivial CM seems to have caused some problems I still have yet to fix. I would get 3g and no LTE even after going back to pureshamu after wiping. Be careful with CM ROMs. I also get many more roaming warnings now. But pureshamu definitely worked before I went flash crazy

I have successfully rooted my phone and I have been successfully trying out some of the ROM's found here on xda. One thing I've noticed though is that every time I boot into any rom, I'm always stuck in roaming and I can't seem to get out.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm running LG Optimus 2X P990HN on FIDO network.

Weird. Roaming is supposed to be a network setting and is not made automagically by the rom. Are there chances you enabled it before the flash?

I tried the newest baseband i could find to no avail. i tried punching in all my apn settings manually, nothing. I was able to connect and register on FIDO umts and gsm networks but it still said I was in roaming.
I was doing a bit of googling earlier and some ppl were saying that it's got something to do with many of the roms are running gingerbread and that the p990hn has no love for gingerbread atm. I just kinda skimmed but that's what I got from it.
I'm going to see try a froyo rom for the 2x and see if I encounter the same issue.

"Of course you wont be charged more.
Just an FYI, you are ON the Fido network even if it says Rogers or roaming on rogers. When you roam outside of the Fido/Rogers network, on something like AT&T or T-Mobile, then you are roaming on a different network, not only that, you get a text message to remind you that you are on a foreign network. Hope this helps."
That was quoted from the fido forums.. so apparently its already on fido but because the coding is not right and no official gingerbread support its considered roaming but wont be charged extra money.. I wont be able to know until next month and even still its a risk.

"APN: internet.fido.ca

After calling Fido, it seems that using National Datat Roaming on the Rogers network is allowed, and there is no extra billing since it's what the Nexus has to do as well. Cool. I guess someone can close this if they want."

/agree again, with any luck we'll see a gingerbread update in the incredibly near future and this problem will cease to exist.
With all the CM/AOSP clones having similar issues with Data connectivity (lack of handoff, Roaming, improper network names) I thought a thread with the experiences would be a great tool for the Dev's to refer to to help solve this issue.

I'm stock 5.0.1on Verizon I haven't rooted or unlocked because of these problemsthese problems seems as if at times phone freezes up has 3G or Sometimes 4G but still no Internet connection then finally after sometimes 5 minutes it connects up and it's fine it's not network because my wife's Droid 4 gets 4G kind of embracing. Also seems slow to hook up but decrypting may solve that. Are these the problems you are talking about or is my phone jacked?

Probably stock.
Stock, rooted, heavily debloated. Runs beautifully for me and has been consistent in the 7 8 months I've had the tablet. Blisspop is a excellent AOSP ROM. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T707A using XDA Free mobile app
The locked bootloader on the T707 makes rooting almost impossible. However, there have been some promising developments in the last week from Team Keen, who may have found an exploitable vulnerability in the linux kernel. There are active teams working on rooting the Galaxy S6 Duos (SM-G9200) and the Galaxy Note 4 (ATT and Verizon). So I'm cautiously optimistic that if those devices can be rooted then those exploits can be ported over to the T707.

Sprint has always beaten verizon and at&t in updates, Tmobile is first then sprint.
Verizon has to integrate and test their advanced calling features first. So they always take longer than the others, even in the best case.

It's not that that takes Verizon so long, it's all the bloatware apps they have to update
Sent from my SM-G925V using Xparent Green Tapatalk 2
That's another theory, but that doesn't seem right as the nexus 6 took a while and it has almost no new bloat that hadn't already been ported to 5.x.
Which points the finger back to advanced calling features.
There was a small Verizon update today
http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...ctivation-lock-enable-roaming-in-puerto-rico/
Just wondering if this patched the exploit? I ask because if this did then there is no reason to buy the phone for me now.
T-mobile and sprint have quicker updates, I prefer to have reliable service.
I heard rumors of Verizon allowing unlocked phones on their network. Hopefully, we'll be able to use 4G phone with compatible antenas in the future, this way we won't be dependent on Vzw's updates and crappy apps
Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
What about 5.1 do you care so much about? Who cares if they got it out first? Verizon still has twice the network.
Doesn't 5.1 patch the memory leak? Even with the latest update after a while of using many apps I feel like the phone slows down at times, and a reboot fixes that.

From what I heard, memory leak is fixed and it includes some extras features to the camera such as support for raw files and swipe u up or down l the screen to control exposure I think.

Not worth losing root, possibly permanently!
Have 5.1.1 on TMO S6. Couldn't care less about raw support. That's what the D810 is for!
And the memory management, calling it that, is just as bad.
IMHO, Lollipop is the Windows Vista of Android.
I have a Nexus 6 and while it's better on that phone, I do miss 4.4.4. The Note 4 with 4.4.4 was butter. Providing it was a non VZW one!
So do we know how far off we are from 5.1?

The answer is that, no, no one ever knows. Unless a tech leaks information that they got a memo...the best notice you usually can expect from that is a few days.
i would love to live in a world where i can have the best network AND just relatively timely updates but that option is yet to exist.
Just like most ROMS, never ask for an ETA. Jk. I was about to post asking if anyone had heard any rumors of a timeframe, then I saw this thread, so I'm guessing no ones heard anything.

ooh they leak. i have installed many leaked updates from Verizon and on a few occasions they were difficult to get out of as they changed their mind and did not release it and so the official would not update you from the leaked as it wasnt supposed to be out.
Is there a patch for my SM-G920T1 Galaxy s6 Baseband version is G920T1UVU5EC2 or can I have better Lineage Rom for my version also I can't Update the os and when I call people they can't hear or I can't hear them. When you first boot Lineageos 14.1 if you have for metropcs it won't read your sim card so you have to edit the APN so search up for metropcs apn setting.
LineageOS doesn't support T*/W8 devices as of yet. They said they will be trying to add more support soon but as of right now, there is no calling and SIM doesn't always detect.

Hi man I was wondering if you could send me a recovery.Img for galaxy s6 sm-g920t1 or I think the sm-g920t would work just fine.
If your LOS 14.1 is distributed by Team Nexus, then here is the wrong place to report bugs man. Go over to www.nexus-roms.eu and report bugs for LOS there from now on.
As for the bugs you asked about:
1) LOS for the S6 isn't official (although they have been approved), therefore, OTA updates do not work (some could say it doesn't work on official LOS software too hahaha)
2) The team are working on call for the G920T/W8 right now. So far, it's not been working, but they are trying hard. Also, I must add that SIM has always been detected for me

There was a new build released today on their website. Yes, there is supposed to be one link. Click the link, choose either RR or LOS. Then, choose your model. If you're running T/W8, choose the one that says fltecan/ltecan, and download both the ROM and the patch file to help with calls. If you're running any other models, then choose the normal flte/lte folder. As of now, the patch does enable call, but for the other person to hear, you must activate speaker phone. 'Mohamad', the guy who works on T/W8 models for the ROMs, is working in a fix for it right now I think.

I'm jumping on that now. Thanks! How bad is the lag you've experienced so far? Mine was pretty bad after a few minutes.

Alright, flashed. Yes, everything is much smoother. Also, calls are working for both the earpiece and speaker for me. Two things though.. the capacitive back and menu buttons don't work. Had to enable to onscreen buttons. Secondly, I don't have root. Trying to enable it in the developer options and it only gives me an option for ADB. I'm gonna try flashing SuperSU.

Flte = flat, as stated by the F. I'm sure you can figure out what the other one is for. Also, tell me your secrets!! It doesn't work in the earpiece for me.
The hardware keys don't work? Strange. They work for me. Maybe try reflashing if it really bothers you.
Root isn't built in in the first place lol
Alright, SuperSU from here flashed through TWRP from this link worked beautifully.

Now just gotta figure out how to get my buttons back. This is awesome!

Hmm.. well that might be the factor as to why my earpiece works. I didn't download and flash the flat version LOL I got the zeroltecan version haha.

I probably didn't get a script error because I flashed the international version of TWRP instead of the g920t version lol works consistently too! Made a few calls to make sure it wasn't bugged.

Wait, just to be clear, you're running a G920T, with LOS, and people can hear you with and without speakerphone on?

Does the audio go both ways? Meaning if they call you, w/o speakerphone they can hear you, and when you call them, w/o speakerphone they can hear you?

I haven't had anyone call me so I don't know if anyone is able to hear me. I only called my voicemail and checked for earpiece and speaker audio.
So in dire hopes of moving to the OS that my S5's have had for a while (!!!), I did exactly what H3adru5H said he did - I have an SM-G920T, but I applied (well, upgraded, technically) the international version of TWRP on my phone and then flashed the Edge version of the ROM he did (not the "flat"). Similar results - TWRP works great. ROM worked but no buttons. Sound was a problem (for calls) - it would work for Hangouts (I used to have Google Voice/Sprint integration, so I'm still stuck on Hangouts), and then it would stop. Earpiece made no difference. Also had the root issue - applied the SU package listed - seemed to be fixed. Then, because I had a Nandroid backup and a STRONG desire to stop being the last &*%(# Galaxy owners on earth to use Nougat, I see the "Testing" folder with a file called ResurrectionRemix-zero-multitarget-2017-05-28_2124.zip and think - yeah, I gotta try that. I dirty flashed it and it fixed the button issues - they came back, but the audio was no better. I don't recall if I tried patching the audio again - it was getting late and I needed to restore so I had a phone when I woke up.
Point is - I followed what sounded like the exact same steps as H3adru5H did on my SM-G920T (currently running MM XestroLite), but I basically didn't have functional call audio - toggling speakerphone didn't seem to help. If I could even get Hangouts sound to work reliably I'd be okay - I don't really use the native phone number or app.
I will say I'm somewhat confused by the instructions to use the "zerofltecan" version of the ROM and not the "zerofltexx" version, since technically I believe the SM-G920T would be zerofltexx, not zerofltecan (which is the Canadian version, I believe). I realize there was no sound patch for the "zerofltexx" version, so I had to use zerofltecan, but I am correct, right? All other things being equal, the SM-G920T would be zerofltexx, right? I notice that people lump the "T*/W8" together a lot - I don't know if it means they're really pretty much the same (the specs seem the same- bands might be different, though).
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo close. Oh God, please let this get fixed. And then it's the last Samsung ever for me.

T/W8 use zeroflte/ltecan because the guy who is working on the audio fix, Mohammad, has a Canadian model. Canadian model and T-Mobile models use the same Audience chipset which is used for calls. Other models have different audio chipsets. Also, don't use international TWRP and flash the ROM you're not supposed to. It'd just mess everything up, like the buttons as you mentioned.
The newer builds are much more simple, as they'll be multi-target, meaning one zip for either LOS or RR can be used for any model. As long as you have the latest TWRP, it'll use AABS, which is an automated system which scans for what model you have and determines if it needs to flash any patch. If it does, it'll do it during the install process. It's very cool. The test builds have this now and it works well. I'd recommend waiting for the next stable builds though. By then, Mohammad would probably have call working 100%.
