Im completely new at this whole rooting thing so any advice would be great...thanks!!

That won't work till you reflash stock rom
However you can try to google and find alternatives for it

Thanks... Tried that but still no joy.. What's the latest version of stock can be used on the p5110?

you got a tab with ics installed???? im guessing you bought it used and someone installed one of the custom roms...if you got it new with ICS this would be quite something.
camera so far doesn't work in any ics rom. if you want the camera you gotta flash honeycomb again.
has for youtube HW videos not working im guessing the custom rom istalled is an old version. the newer ones work fine with youtube. i would flash the newest version of soup or cm9 if i were you.
lol yes its used as you can prob guess i'am abit new to tabs its my 1st one! so you suggest returning to stock fireware not starting a fresh?

its your decision. if you need the camera honeycomb is your only option at the moment. (stock/overcome/ganbarou)
if not i would definately advise you to use ICS. check the developement thread and chose one of the newer ICS versions. (soup/cm9)

Just to double check seeing as i'am a noob i dont have to do anything other than download n install the cm9 update? i dont need to flash before hand do i?

i would advise you to read the great guide by nirogu:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406137
you download the zip. copy it to your tab. then reboot into recovery (which im guessing is installed)
then do a full factory reset / wipe (warning this will delete your apps but not your data like photos/music etc)
then select flash .zip and chose the zip file containing the rom. let it install and you are done.
but READ THE GUIDE! you will learn a lot and a lot of question you have will be answered!!
cheers pal

[Q] Question about 4.0 (ICS) **SOLVED**

I know that samsung as announced that Galaxy s wont get an upgrade to 4.0 , I was just wondering does any of you tried running any 4.0 on a Galaxy S , Even if its a leaked or original , I was just wondering if it was running smooth and normal , Or if it will , I'm asking that because S2 will get the upgrade , So S1 should still be available to run it even if its not Officialy Aprouved.
What do you guys think ?
Try SLIM ICS. One of the best 4.0 ROM's

tesco galaxy mini

Hello folks
Im enjoying my Gs3 lately but my step daughter isnt enjoying her galaxy mini so i swapped my ported wave 1 and shes loving it lol anyway i now have this galaxy mini can i update the software by porting the phone or does it need to be unlocked from tesco first? its asking for a network lock control key? i can dismiss as there is an option to dismiss and play about with the phone its currently android version 2.3.5 build number "GINGERBREAD ,XWKS7" im in ireland thanks
there's no need to unlock network or bootloader. as you're already on gingerbread, just flash cwm with odin and then pick your poison (rom) you can find all tutorials and guides somewhere around without any problems, just don't ever use rom manager, it tends to brick galaxy mini when you flash cwm with it.

you're welcome, i use cyanogenmod 10.1 as a daily driver, it's good for me. drains battery quite quick, but other than that it's almost perfect please don't start "best rom, recommend a rom" threads, as they're not allowed and are getting closed

i have cyanogenmod 7 on the mini now but do i need 10.1 to have google playstore? i want to get some apps etc
edit update
OK i have to do this "Optional: Place any supplemental packages (eg Google Apps or kernel) .zip file(s) on the root of the SD card."
which over looked in the install guide so here goes the 10.1 attempt lol
oh my brain lol i had cm-7 flashed on the samsung mini and was working away fine but no google play store
and only android keyboard so i realised i needed other zip files to have other features so i found these tass-recovery-cwm.tar
cm-7-20130201-NIGHTLY-tass.zip
Samsung_Keyboard_CM7_En-It-Es-Pt.zip
Trans-Soft-Buttons-Nightly-08192012.zip
gapps-gb-20130109-signed.zip
when i reflashed the phone etc the phone firstly ended up with no keyboard despite having the android keyboard selected when i go into language and keyboard settings it backs up to the main menu so i tried again and now its stuck in some kind of boot loop.
ive put this stock rom (MJKT3_annson08) on now and it seems fine but can anyone advise whats happened with my cm-7 setup which was fine the first time but as i said i only had android keyboard and no play store etc the fix seemes easy but its not working for me thanks
i guess that the keyboard you flashed was faulty, and to have play store and such you need to flash gapps_gb package instead of samsung keyboard, try downloading swype

[Q] Question about custom rom firmware

Hi guys, im really new to this forum and all about these android stuffs. As this is my first post, im terribly sorry if i started a new thread. yesterday, i flashed my galaxy mini from stock gingerbread firmware to this custom rom forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409566
it worked greatly, it says that my android version is 4.0.4 . But, when i installed apps that is supposed to work at ICS, it cant work. It can be installed, but when I tried to run it, it just said that unfortunately, the application had stopped working. im really confused. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Which app was that? It's probably an app for armv7 only.
It is BBM. I go through the net to find the system requirements, but i found nothing

I see...... Anyway, as i upgraded from stock gingerbread, and after i flashed that rom, it had provided the play store. I want to know, did the Play Store recognize my phone as still a gingerbread or an ICS? or should I flash an ICS gapps package? will that help?
