Guide - Unlock XT862 for T-mobile/ATT,
I followed this guide, and it seems to have disabled my cdma radio.
Is that right? or could it have been something else.

Correct. You would have to flash back. They may be other steps to restoring cdma functionality, and probably restore the original build.prop

But natiusm
Thanks, I guess I will have to flash back.
The thing is, I need my droid on cricket, and on weekends I travel to mexico, and use a mexican telcel sim chip. Works fine, but when I cross back to the usa with the telcel sim chip, I can't roam with the telcel chip onto ATT network. I need to sometimes to receive calls and texts.
If anyone knows where I can find the verizon stock build.prop, to go back to stock, please let me know. thanks!
Update&Flash other carriers' roms on unlocked&root Puerto Rico Moto X(XT1058)?
Since AT&T and other carriers had pulled out, some fellows came across with boot loop issues.
I want to ask if there is an update rolls on PR version XT1058, should I restore to stock recovery and unroot it?(Unlocked,CWM,Root alreday)
Also, anybody knows what is going on the PR version of MotoX? What is its carrier?
It seems the same as the AT&T model QUOTE "AT&T to expand in Latin America with America Movil deal | Reuters"
The ebay seller told me the sim unlock code was sent by AT&T, but he didn't show me the proof.
Is it mean that flashing at&t updated rom on PR moto x is available?
Thanks in advance.
Also thumb up for the fellows help me to get my phone rooted!

How did you flash it? RSDLite? Fastboot? What image? Whole FXZ or just kernel? Were you able to reflash the original image back?

Yes you can as long as you unlock your bootloader first and the ATT firmware that you're going to flash is higher than the one that's on your phone.
But I wouldn't recommend doing it because the ATT firmware is full of bloatware and I think WiFi tethering is disabled on it if I'm not mistaken.
I would recommend flashing the Retail US (TMO) firmware instead because it is a Retail image which is bloatware free and has everything enabled. It is designed for the XT1053 so you might lose an LTE band or two (5 and 7 to be precise), but it's fully compatible with the XT1058 and you would be able to connect to LTE using bands 2, 4 and 17.
Can anyone see any issues with flashing an ATT kitkat variant atop a Rogers device?
Thanks in advance!
Yes I can see an issue: You're having a rogers device. Never flash anything on your phone that isnt specifically made for it.
You can usually flash a custom rom no matter which carrier you have. But never use roms that are made for different devices/carriers.

I am using T-Mobile kitkat on my Rogers motox with unlocked bootloader. I don't have any issue so far, but keep in mind, you must understand the risk of flashing other carrier rom

Unlock the boot loader and flash the AT&T 4.4 rom, it will work just fine. It is possible you could lose band 7(2600mhz) LTE as it may not be enabled in the AT&T firmware. You can easily go back to Rogers firmware if you decide it isn't for you.
I'm using the AT&T 4.4 on a Rogers Moto X, using it with Koodo, works great!
Thanks a lot guys! I'll give it a shot.

Same here flash the 4.4 kitkat on my rogers version of moto x using koodo and rogers sim card. both works with no issue. Of course once the rogers version comes out I will flash back again.

Yes, it works just fine. I have it running on my spare Moto X.
No provider name in the upper left. If you flash the entire bundle it will most likely disable band 7 LTE, I have no way to verify that right now though. For some reason I find the AT&T 4.4 works better and gives better battery life. It could just be my imagination though, or it may be because the modem file matches the hardware perfectly.

Yes, I've done the full flash using the retail file with rsdlite. You will get LTE with that firmware, but it may only work on the AWS band. You would need to do some testing to see if it used Band 7 LTE (2600 mhz). I don't have a Rogers account so I can't check. I know the original 4.4 leak from AT&T had 2600 mhz disabled, so I figure other versions may as well.

Unlock your bootloader and then follow the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446515
You can use the dev edition/retail/tmobile edition firmware or even the AT&T 4.4 firmware. I recommend the dev edition though, no branding or bloatware at all.
I am using the dev edition firmware on my Rogers XT1058, using it with Koodo.

No specific instructions but you must have a unlocked boot loader. Here's a good thread in how to use rsdlite http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446515 . You can use either the at&t or T-Mobile sbf firmware, the at&t firmware has more bloat than the T-Mobile version

After installing cyanogenmod right after unlocking I get no sim message. Others are running cm no problem with their Verizon moto x. So idk what's wrong. Tried both the latest nightlies 8/16 8/19 same issue. It's no work. Came from mofo 5.1 so 5.0 BL
Any ideas?
The nightlies have issues, which is why they're nightlies, for me the wifi for the nightlies doesn't work. I had to install the Snapshot first, and do a data wipe.

the problem is CDMA vs GSM, you can definitely install CDMA roms over a GSM, but you cannot install GSM over CDMA. I have a XT1097 on Nextel/AT&T Mexico

There have been some people that have CM working on there xt1096s but others that don't
Most likely the people that have it working are using a verizon GSM chip. Just a guess though.

You may have to flash the verizon moto x radio and modem for 5.1 from mikeoswego's xt1096 thread and try clean flashing cm again

In addition to the above, you could try this http://buzzmobile.us/verizon-apn-settings-verizon-mms-settings-android-phones/. im currently not in a place where i can install roms so once i am able to, i will install nexus experience and try to get the network to work(although from a lot of these other comments, it doesnt seem likely to work) and give more feedback.

Yes I did install CM over the mofo 5.1. I tried flashing the 5.1 modem from mikeoswego's thread and that didn't work. I tried flashing a modem that was shared through the 5.1 CM 12.1 official thread and that didn't work as well. I tried updating TWRP to see if that would do anything but it didn't change anything. The result is still the same. I tried backing up the EFS in TWRP and then restoring that EFS backup when I had CM installed and that didn't work either. I've done a lot of googling and have come up with nothing else
did you try the apn thing i just suggested cause i heard you have to manually add the verizon apn

No, Verizon does not use GSM at all (aside from whatever similarities there are between their LTE data and other vendors GSM type services.) When using voice, it will either be CDMA or VoLTE (on a capable device.)
This is a legacy issue due to their past acquisitions of so many old time analog networks that were then upgraded to CDMA back when that was the latest and greatest.

Because their voice traffic (except in VoLTE areas on enabled phones) is on CDMA while their LTE data traffic is a gsm variant. They've basically tacked the LTE data network onto their existing CDMA network. So, yes there is a sim for the LTE data part of their service but that doesn't change that they are still primarily CDMA for voice.
