4.4.2 is just pushing to the GSM unlocked model here in the US. I don't even know if Motorola has released the factory images yet.
Has anyone figured out how to root stock Lolipop rom yet?
I found this http://www.galaxys5update.com/root-g900fxxu1bnl9-galaxy-s5-android-5-0-lollipop-update/
I just don't know if this is ment for the AT&T version.
Can someone confirm if this is the right way to root my phone?

It's meant for international G900F
G900A hasn't had the lollipop update yet.
No you cannot use that method to root AT&T G900A
This is the only way to attain root

As long as it's not on Lollipop already then you should be able to
Right here on XDA.

There is no root meethod for the AT&T bootloader therefore no root. If you had used the search you would have found dozens of other people asking the same thing.
If anyone discovers a method how to root that phone you can be sure it will be published here and everybody will now. For now all I can refer you to is my thread on how to update the phone to the latest Marshmellow update (but that might prevent you from installing any root that is based on Lollipop in the future).

EDIT: Actually there is a root method https://forum.xda-developers.com/at...w-to-update-to-g870aof2-5-0-keeproot-t3161733 for very old firmware versions. Still there are no custom roms that I know of.

Thanks a lot for reply, after a looooong search I have found this: http://www.droidviews.com/update-att-galaxy-s5-active-to-lollipop-root-it-and-enable-wifi-tethering/
So, I do that and now, I'm in Android 5.0, with baseband G870AUCU2BOF3 and happily rooted. But I have a question, Can I update to Marshmallow following your thread?
Thanks a lot again.

You can but you will lose root. There is currently no root method for Marshmallow.
Hello.
I was just wondering how exactly you did this? You downgraded to 5.0, and rooted from there? Can you explain to me what you did to root the G870A?
