I have a rooted nexus 6 . When i download a song using music download apps from playstore they donot show up in the music player tracklist. I use musiXmatch to play music . When i download a song it gets stored in the music folder in storage. The player reads all the songs that present in the music folder but the one downloaded from the app. The music file i downloaded and the pre existing music files are the same type audio/mpeg.

Hi i am using miui with the music mod player. i'm trying to get the player to only search for music in one folder only. it currently searches all folders on my sd card and that includes in game music from some gameloft games i've downloaded. is there a way to get the player to just read mp3s from my /sdcard/music/ folder? thanks
Hi,
Having trouble with my Galaxy S showing WAV's in the Music player.
I can play them under files, and have set the music player to look at the folder where they are stored, but the media scan does not seem to pick them up.
AnyIdea's?
Hi all,
I am now having difficulties to add music folders onto the stock music player on gal not.
Currently i am using poweramp it is much easier, but i have issue when playing a song then the poweramp gets hung. It cannot skip and need to reboot the phone.

Where are your music folders?
I have the opposite problem. The stock player includes every MP3 file on my phone, but some of my MP3s aren't music and I don't want them in the music player.
The stock player should just scan your whole phone and include any MP3s it finds. I don't think there is a way to tell it which folders to include or ignore.
Add a .nomedia file in the folders it shouldn't include.
@beanr2s
Open stock music player - menu - setting - music menu - check mark on folder
thats it.
I have a completely stock HTC One 801S and I have been trying to copy my music into it. I copied MP3's into the 'Music' folder and it shows when I check with Windows explorer, it also shows up when I use File Manager from the Play Store but the Media player in the phone (the one with the little Headset Icon does not see anything new. The preloaded music shows up and plays but not what I added.
If I use the File Manager from the Play Store and select the music, it plays fine. I also installed Android Music but the same problem, anything I copy into the phone does not show up in any music player in the phone. Restart the phone many times but no luck.
Does anybody have solutions or ideas how to solve this?
Thanks,
JB
Quick update: if I send the files over Bluetooth they show up in the Bluetooth folder in the music player and they play OK in the stock music player. This is a work around because I cannot organize them in folders.
Anybody can help me?
thanks,
JB
My problem is that my stock music player and Google Play music can't detect the music I added to the music folder. When I add the music it will appear for a day or so in both players, but when I reopen them all my music has disappeared. I can playuaic fine from the folder and in PowerAmp, but why is theusic dissapearing from the stock player. Any suggestions are appreciated
