Which modem are you on and which one are you looking for? Wifi works fine with NE5 modem.
Yesterday, I have added another couple of modems with wifi fixes, you can look below flashing instructions in th OP.

Great! NE5 works fine :good: Thanks a lot!

Where can I find the basebands as well as modems?
mine does not match, and therefor my in call sound screws around.
I've read and searched and found solutions, but can't find the source of files
I'm currently on bootloader XXUAMI3 and basebandXXUCNH2
running CM12

Baseband is the term used for modem in the about phone in settings.
You seem to be on the old bootloader and may have to upgrade to 4.4.2 to solve the in call issue

Do you know where I can find the bootloaders? Or is it included in the roms?

Bootloader is included in the firmware. I do have a CWM flashable zip of the CNE5 firmware that I had made but has not been tested (I have personally flashed over same firmware without any issues, it goes through). It includes the modem & non-holos that you can delete before flashing. If you want to try you can get it from my GDrive https://docs.google.com/file/d/0ByY8uLVuRKD2ZHc0NGFsNjhPalk/edit?usp=docslist_api.
Put in the root of your internal sdcard. Power off and manully boot into recovery and flash.

Thanks Jason. I downloaded your file and then did the following
1. Removed non-holos and modem, rezipped, added to phone, switched off, into recovery and installed. Still the same bootloader.
2. Tried your file as is, i could just reload the modem later. All fine, but when i checked, it's still the same bootloader.
Any ideas?

In case you have not yet flashed the CNH2 firmware, it would be a good idea to flash the CNE5 firmware as it does not have knox. You can get it from this link and then flash the modem you want separately.

Enter download mode only after complete power off. Do not attempt to enter download mode from phone software menu or by holding Vol- when rebooting.
Lots of guides say double flashing is needed to "make it stick" [emoji15] Jasonrr and allram among others advice this unnecessary because download mode is entered wrong.
Jason Gdrive instructions
"Open Odin -> Untick Autoreboot -> Flash modem.bin in Phone part, reboot phone to download mode again and reflash modem.bin, same procedure with NON-Hlos.bin, flash twice -> reboot to ROM and check baseband version"
Allram http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54959047
Both equally missing how to flash only once.
Here's what you need to flash safely, and I'm not telling you to select this or that modems. Read and choose what best fit your needs:

If you refer to the post above you will see that I have said to power off & manually boot into recovery & Never have I had to double flash any firmware or modem. So I really cannot understand the reason for this post.
Yes only once I had recommended it to someone who complained that after a couple of tries he was unable to flash & sometimes unothodox methods work.

thanks for that link Jason. The download and flash did not work. there must have been something wrong with the download i tried from sammobile. I ended up restoring a backup of slimkat I had after a couple of hrs struggling.
busy downloading the CNE5 one
And yes thanks O-T . I saw your posts on that when I" was searching for a solution the last couple of days. also the Power and volume up/down.
I came from SII so when I first tried with the home and it worked I assumed it was correct. now I can pick my nose while entering recovery/downoad

I see Jason tried to correct the modem flashing guide on his Gdrive, still some strange lines.
"...
Boot into download mode by holding power down + power key
...
Connect USB Cable"
Where is power down key?
Hardware key on the left side control sound dB level up and down. Guess this is the one. Most others call it volume key. System settings also use Volume.
Flashing by USB need connection to 5V powered plug. Lot of frustration from failed flash by USB hub can be avoided by emphasize to connect cable directly to computer USB.
Please read my thread. Use it instead of rewrite what's there. I will correct if you find something is missing.

Need help stuck in 2e recovery

I got my phone rooted and then i proceeded to install rom manger to install CWM recovery. After that i rebooted the phone and ended up taking me to the original 2e recovery. Now I am basically stuck here, even after taking the battery out. I searched for a day and cant seem to find a solution.
Can anyone help please?
If you do a battery pull, there's really no way it will boot back into recovery—I'm sure it always boots into the OS by default.
Uhm, yeah.. I really don't know what to tell you.
Maybe leave the battery out for a bit?
haha i've tried that. its been a day. when i pull the battery it boots right back to 2e recovery. and it basically shows "reboot system now" "apply sd card.update.zip" "wipe data" blah blah blah it will let me highlight them but not select them because i dont have a okay key.
So i've been searching and i'm basically trying to flash back to stock firmware via odin. Will reply with an update and see what happens.
good news i got it to work. =D can close this thread.
Glad to hear it!
For future reference, selecting the option should be the home button or the power button (I can never remember all these things ).
ok sorry to reply again but basically i'm stuck again..when i go into recovery mode.. i cannot select an option.. home or power button doesnt seem to work. and basically to get out of recovery i would have to pull the battery.
To fix this .. would i need to do the 3 button fix? if so i've been looking for one and cant seem to find the right one because the ones i tried seem to don't work
do you think you can help a solution? thanks

No need to apologize, we're here to help.
The volume buttons should control scrolling up or down, and home/power (can't remember, it seems to be different with various recoveries) should be to select the option.
So you don't have access to the 3-button recovery/download mode? I would suggest getting that working, and then flashing a better firmware with Odin. But do not start flashing stuff until you have download mode working, otherwise you risk bricking your phone. If download mode works, you can fix most issues you'll come across by simply flashing a stable firmware (or re-flashing the same firmware, if you caused it to malfunction, bootloop, etc).
Are you running stock firmware right now?
If you can't do anything flash a rom via odin and install cf-root kernel. This is a stock kernel with Superuser and CWM3 in this kernel. Make sure you can enter download mode with 3-button combo. Voldown+home+power.
If you don't have 3-button combo. It may disabled in your kernel. You can flash a kernel via odin what enables 3button combo but at your own risk. It may brick your phone. You can easily get download mode without 3 button combo with an Micro USB jig. This is a little stuff with a 301KOhms ressistor what shorts pin 4 and 5. You can make at home very easy or buy one from ebay.
thanks for the replies!! and sorry for my late reply.
so heres my deal. i can get into download mode and i flashed cf-root kernel via odin. so like you said its a stock kernel with superuser and root. and i dont think it comes with cwm because when i go to recovery its 2e recovery and from there i cannot even use the ok key or it doesn't let me so i have to pull my battery.
So i proceed to download rom manager and flash cwm recovery from there, then when i try to go to recovery again, i'm stuck there. i cannot even boot up to my rom and whatever i do i'll end up in 2e recovery until i pull my battery.
it's an on going cycle of doing this over and over because i cannot use to ok key in recovery.
this sucks because i've rooted other phones like nexus one, g2x and g2 and the samsung galaxy seems the hardest ...

It shouldn't be hard, it should be be simple.
Since you flashed the kernel that has CWM, are you sure you don't hace CWM? You should. Something is obviously wrong here. Youtube some videos to confirm which recovery you have.
Put your device in download mode and use this:

didnt work.. it just boots me to recovery 3e and i cannot get out of it unless i pull the battery. i thought this would work and looked very promising.. i dont know what could the problem be.
edit #2
i had to flash back to stock via odin....
one question i have is that.. how come when i flash cwm recovery via rom manager, it doesn't have cwm? it just says at 2e or 3e recovery?

[Q] Brick Challenge lvl hard - Milestone stucks on bootload

Whats up cheers!
After try flash a droid kernel, my milestone stucks on the bootload on this err:A5,69,4E,00,23 (version 90.78). But, i can access the normal bootload with no error, pressing UP when the phone starts.
The RSDLite recognise my device, but without any informations (before it, when I had flashed the vunerable recovery, a lot of infos, like the OMAP platform appears on the screen).
I can access the recovery screen, but without the menu, just the /!\ image (my device don't work with VolUp+Cam [the buttons work perfectly on the android], to install my CM7 custom rom i had to instal some scripts on the stock rom, but the device don't starts anymore, so i can't install any script).
So, I think, if I can open the recovery menu and re-install the cm7 my brick will be back, but HOW? Exists a mod to work this way?
Sorry for my bad english, i'm brazilian.

As long as RSDlite sees the device, you should be able to SBF back to stock. Once you are back to stock you can go through the root process again, install Open Recovery, and then you will be able to restore your nandroid backup.
Another option is, and I don't know anything about the Open Recovery for Milestones, but some custom recoveries have a way of cold booting straight into the recovery. If you can find out how to do that then you are golden, if not then you will have to SBF.

Try these two things, if they don't work then I think you are stuck with SBFing.
From phone off state - Hold Power+X. When you get to the triangle with !, try either VolUp+VolDown or VolUp+Camera. If you don't get into the recovery that way, try:
From phone off state - Hold Power+Camera. If that gets you to a triangle with ! then try the same key combinations from above.
If neither of those work for you, then SBF your phone and start over. If you get bootloops after SBFing, boot into the stock recovery with Power+X and wipe data/factory reset.

All of those should be for the Milestone. Any of the Brazilian ones should work for you, they are most likely just different versions of the OS. If you press back in the upper left hand corner of that page it shows that the Droid (A854,A855) has it's own download area. All the Brazilian ones seem to be the SHLA SBF's and I believe that is what you are looking for.

Are you running RSDLite as Administrator? If that is not the issue, try to shorten the path and filename (you have a space in your path? (M MS)). You could also try to use earlier versions of RSD, I used 4.9 with no problems (mostly).

[Q] N7000 bricked?

Hello, peeps!
So I was when starting an application, my phone doesn't respond. Tried the power button and it didn't work so I removed the battery and placed it back in.
Here's when my nightmare starts. My phone is stuck at the "GT-N7000" screen, and I cannot proceed further. I'm unable to start Recovery Mode (Vol Up + Power + Home), and only Download Mode works.
However, I tried flashing stock roms, Odin showed no progress even after almost 2 hours.
What seems to be the issue? Is it a hard brick?
Questions should be in the Q&A section.
Is odin able to detect the phone.. ( the port square in odin turns yellow/blue?).
check if there are any Kies processes running in the task manager.. kill them, restart odin and restart phone in download mode and try again.

stuck at the NAND Write part, and the progress bar shows no progress at all (the green bar thing). Could this mean hard brick?
do you have warranty? If yes, take it to Samsung and tell them to rectify it. If no warranty then, you will need to get into recovery may be by flashing a kernel using odin.

Wow...thank you for such quick replies!!
Nope, no longer in warranty..Can I have a link to the kernel file?
Thank you so much!
Before you go about this.. try a reboot PC, reboot download mode phone. try a original USB cable and main USB port of pc and flash again,
If above still stops at NAND
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
look for a tar.md5 file which is odin flashable. If you remember the build number of you phone, then pick that else get any JB kernel and flash using odin. check if odin gives a pass.

Sorry for double posting, here's the screenshot..
you dont need to select it everywhere... just the PDA ONLY.
1. download http://d-h.st/FVh.. this is a PIT file.. select it in the PIT partition. Check it and also repartition.
2. select the kernel file in the PDA..
3. press start... (you will need to reboot into download mode every time to start flashing. so remove the battery.. reboot into download mode.. (vol down+home+power)... after you get the screen volume up to continue.. once the screen shows DOWNLOADING, then connect to pc .. open odin
Thanks again!
How long does it normally take for the entire process to complete? The progress bar of "Set Partition" isn't moving at all
There seems to be some issue with the USB Port or Cable or PC.. you need to check ...a full flash of rom takes about 5-10 mins.
use only the back usb port, don't use the front or extension usb ports, they often throw up problems.. good luck
elprix and
I tried everything suggested, but the progress bar doesn't even move
What are the symptoms of hard brick btw?
EDIT : I tried with Odin3 V3.09, and it is stated Re-Partition failed.
EDIT2 : Tried multiple files, progress bar not moving at all.
It don't write to NAND. But it still is able to set partition. Have you tried a different pc? Uninstall Kies completely and then again install Samsung usb drivers.

Hi everyone!
I experience a similar problem as the original poster! Yesterday my phone was fine, but then it rebooted and got stuck. Now I can only get in to "Download mode". There it says:
Odin Mode
Product Name: GT-N7000
Custom binary download: No
Current binary: Samsung Official
I've had it running Paranoid Android successfully for months and then this happened! So where do I go from here,,,? I have Odin downloaded, drivers installed, so what should I try to flash and in what order?
I would be thankful for any help - feel a bit handicapped without a phone!

When i attemted to flash my Samsung this weekend for the first time i got myself locked out (due to the Reactivation lock) & stuck on a bootloop trying to refix my phone again, i know most of this stuff should be common knowledge but as i found out myself this weekend some isnt. I have had quite a few years experiance flashing various phones with custom roms, modding apks, flashing bootloaders & customising roms so i am not a newbie to the Xda forums or rom flashing. & if you need to reflash back to stock for any reason I have noticed that there is not many download links on Xda or the internet which is not good when the worst happens to your shiny S5.

So heres some useful steps to follow before you start rooting or flashing Roms
1. Make a backup of your rom (System), you can do this in recovery mode.
2. Download your new rom & bootloader & modem (if needed) & then check the MD5 hash/checkstring of your download (if its not the same as what is stated where you downloaded it from then redownload the file) You can download a free MD5 hash checker app via the googleplay store & then check the MD5 sums from the zip file on your phone.
3. Check in your settings that these opitions are right - Unknown sources is ticked & very inportant that the Reactivation lock is unticked! (located in settings/security) or you will lock up your phone after flashing your rom!, & USB debugging is ticked (located in settings/developer options).
4. Make sure your phone battery is not low, best get a full charge or at least 50% before flashing just incase anything goes wrong!
5. Download Odin (if needed) & make sure that the only items ticked are Auto reboot & F.Reset time, & only add firmware or recoverys into the PDA/AP button!
6. Download a Toolbox or prefered method for Rooting & follow the instructions from start to finish, do not miss anything & always read & read before you flash.
7. You can access Recovery mode by holding the Up Volume button/Home button/Power button held down together untill you see the first logo pop up, then release the buttons.
8. You can access Download mode by holding the Down Volume button/Home button/Power button held down together (if it don't pop up first time try again & make sure you have the USB wire plugged in to your laptop/pc & it should work everytime).
9. You can Soft Reboot/manual reboot the phone (if needed) by holding the Home button/Power button held down together.
10. You can Hard Reboot (by physically pulling out the battery) then re inserting it again then power on the device, this method maybe used if you are stuck in a bootloop.
11. Use a laptop which has been fully charged of over a 50% charge instead of a PC so that during the flashing period there is no chance of a power charge or power cut happening in your house that will interupt & could brick or soft brick your S5.
If you need any original firmware because you want to revert back at any point you can download them for free from SamMobile they have all different countrys & carriers but you will need to add a account first & just to warn you it will take a hour or more if you use the free download so if you are stuck in a bootloop just hard reset your phone (do a battery pull) then once downloaded start from there.
SamMobile Download link here - http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
It is safe to flash a custom rom to your phone but there is always the chance of something going wrong, you may bootloop or turn your S5 into a fancy paper weight (if your safe this won't happen), hope these little tricks help & these are some of the questions & things that can throw or put people off when flashing roms or rooting your phone.
If you find anything helpful in this thread feel free to push the like/thanks button.

Ha ha I ment soft reboot or rebooting the device manually, like if you can't access your system because the phones bootlooping & you want to reboot it. Suppose I could add hard reboot as a battery pull in certain situations it could be needed?
Huge appreciation for this list of tips and tricks, in particular the following:

Samsung Note 8 N950F Boot Loop after latest update

Hey
After the latest update, every time I called with the Note 8, it would restart and every time I would switch it off, it would start back on. So the first thing I did was boot to recovery mode and wipe cache partition. When I restarted the phone, I would get a "No command" error and it would always boot to the recovery mode. Next, I tried flashing the latest firmware (I made sure to use the right carrier, VDH) from SamMobile using Odin which still didn't work. Then I tried NAND erase and re-partition and this didn't work either.
I am very new to this so any solutions would be greatly appreciated

When you tried to flash stock with Odin did it pass? Fail? Did it give an error code? Did you download the latest filmware? As you can't flash older filmware than what is already on the phone.

Hey, thanks for the reply
When I flashed with stock firmware, Odin said it passed. And I used the latest firmware for my carrier from SamMobile

I was hoping that it was an issue with Odin so I could possibly help you, even having a look on the internet doesn't being much help other than trying a factory reset. I've been on xda for years and never seen this issue before. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will see your post, I suggest bumping your thread every 24 hrs.
Having tried flashing stock with Odin which usually resolves most bugs I would guess that it is a hardware issue and if you're able to, take it to a service centre.
If you do find a solution please post it here on XDA for anyone who searches this in the future

Thanks for trying. If I do find the solution, I'll be sure to post it here
Looks like the partition in your internal SSD has been corrupted and needs to be reformatted. If that doesn't work then you need to have the motherboard on your device replaced.

How would I go about doing this?
