[Q] Nexus 6 Heaphone Jack Issue - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anybody had audio quality issues with the headphone jack on the Nexus 6? I've had two different Nexus 6 units and both of them have static when audio is playing through the headphones, and some, but not all audio is distorted. I've tried a couple different headphones as well but they both have the issue. Should I RMA again, or should I keep my current device and try to find a solution myself? Thanks.

3.5mm jack problems

Just wanted to check is anyone else is finding that headphones plugged into this jack often are not picked up by the phone and the speaker is used instead.
Happens both with my car AUX and my in ear Klipsch earphones, although if I jiggle the plug it sometimes works. The bundled headphones (MH750) so not seem to suffer this problem.
Is this a widespread problem or an issue with my handset?
the MH750 has 3 rings on the jack as a opposed to the 2 rings on the connector for your other headphones am I right? Having the extra ring on it (meant for the remote) may be what is adding the extra tightness when inserted. I'm not sure how to solve your AUX problem but you may need to try headphones which have a built in remote like the MH750 so that it has the extra ring on the connector. This may also be a defect, as I can not confirm since my device is still on it's way.
EDIT : After receiving the phone this happened to me once. You have to play around with the smart connect settings o disable it all together. It doesn't seem to be hardware related.
i have the same problem here .

USB headsets / headphones

Hi,
Been having issues with 3.5 audio jack a lot lately. Audio stream stops very seldom due to a worn out connector, I guess. Changing the headset didn't solve the issue and neither does cleaning the connector with a specific product.
Recently I was told about the existence of micro-USB audio headsets, so I believe that these are a good alternative to classic 3.5 headsets and that are compatible with our beloved defy.
I mean one of these: http://www.ebay.it/itm/AURICOLARE-STEREO-MOTOROLA-Micro-Usb-HEADSET-S280-NUOVO-/161205483521?pt=Altro_Skype&hash=item2588987801&_uhb=1
Does anyone have experience with these?
I own a defy+ running CM11. thanks!
Not sure tbh

Nexus Doesn't Like Stereo Jacks

Hey all, I've got an issue. I can listen to music just great on my N6 via 3.5mm standard non-mic or mic earbuds. I went to plug the N6 into my stereo today and the music kept playing out of the speaker when I put the jack in, but when I take it out it pauses the music. AudioFX also knows when the jack is in because the EQ switches to headphones. It's not just music that does this either, YouTube keeps playing through the speakers as well. I've tried 2 different jacks, both are just 3.5mm to RCA stereo plugs. However, I had an old pair of broken Apple headphones with a mic that I cut up and attached a 3.5mm female onto the end instead of earbuds. The setup is N6 -> modified Apple earbuds -> 3.5mm to RCA -> Stereo. This actually worked, god knows why. I want to know if anyone else had this issue, and what to do about it because I'd rather not return the phone to T-Mobile for a replacement.

Pixel 4 xl hearing your own voice through random earbuds

I am not sure if this is a device specific issue or a general one but my pixel 4 xl when using a type c earphones during calls, I can hear my own voice through the earphones that I speak through the microphone. Whatever I speak is projected to the person on the other end as well as to me as well. The issue is present only when the earphones are connected, I have tried two different earphones and both work fine on another phone. Does anyone else has this issue? If yes did you manage to correct it and how?
