Installing Stock Lollipop - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have a Global GSM XT1063, I don't have the Lollipop OTA yet, How Can I flash lollipop? through ADB maybe? Any Image??
Bootloader is locked and as the phone is not mine I do not want to change that, Is there any solution without wiping data?

No.
You have to unlock the bootloader as the first step and that will wipe data too.
I don't know any way without changing something.

The link goes to Blur_Version.21.11.17.titan_retuglb.retuglb.en.US.zip and 21.11.17 is a Kitkat-firmware.
edit: Sry,there seems to be android firmware with that number:
Yes, he is sure because the filename naming scheme used by Motorola automatically renames any update to the name of the firmware currently installed.
KennyWuLee, had 21.11.17 installed while he downloaded the update and that is why the filename is "Blur_Version.21.11.17.titan_retuglb.retuglb.en.US .zip"
(found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/ota-moto-g-2014-xt1063-v22-11-6-android-t2939881)
It´s original OTA and so it should be flashable through stock recovery with locked bootloader.

Well, it gave this error and I don't have any idea what it says...

I think it's because you are on Build KXB 21.85.23 or 21 and the OTA is for updating KXB 21.85.17.So you would have to downgrade your firmware first but that is not possible without unlocking the bootloader and installing a custom recovery which means you'll lose the phones data. You can backup before downgrading but I think all that means to make more changes to the phone as you wanted to do.

WARNING : FLASH THIS SBF ONLY IF YOU ARE STILL RUNNING STOCK AT&T 2.2.2 WITH A LOCKED BOOTLOADER. ONCE YOU FLASH THIS ANY ATTEMPT AT A DOWNGRADE TO A PREVIOUS VERSION WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE.
If you are running anything else using this could increase your chances of bricking. Read the thread before flashing !!!!
This SBF is intended for people who don't want to deal with rooting and unlocking and OTA's and blur removal and fastboot and recovery and blah, blah blah I'm going to brick my phone regardless of what I do stuff.
It's also meant for people who have patience and want to upgrade safely who don't want to deal with Motorola Software Update because of the OS they're running.
It's an original SBF plain and simple.
Compression MD5 - 37D7E7D002B921F98D47BAD85DB55532
SBF MD5 - 56721D893E43B814E95683A00B165555
Read eval-s post below to clear up the confusion.
Would not use if you've unlocked with pudding. Will probably soft brick or worse.
Locked phones should be safe.

I am complete noob in atrix,But i want to know that i have unlocked my atrix but if i flash New Firmware GB,Will it make my atrix again locked plz tell me.
is this the final version?
If i flash back to 1.8.3 will it be locked again? And update to official from there
I dont know about this sbf, but the service sbf i got from the motorola software update tool worked fine with the leaked ota (which is apparently the same as the official ota) and i was unlocked before i flashed it
edit: the compressed md5sum from the op is the same as the one i got from the motorola server which i flashed via rsd 5.3.1 with an unlocked bootloader. so apparently it is a sirvice sbf
edit: i also flashed zomgunlock-lite.sbf after i flashed the sbf
So is it safe to update if ur unlocked already...is this update unlockable? Im currently rooted and bl unlocked....

Read the second post, or try and post your brick results!
I also recommend not using. I used the 4.5.91 SBF a long time ago and bricked my phone shortly thereafter.
No, this .sbf is safe. It will just burn your fuse, just like the OTA, and make downgrading to anything impossible. To downgrade, you will have to use something that includes pudding, and you will have to 'oem unlock' ...that's all.
The .sbf is no more unsafe than the OTA. And once you've OTA'd, if you see "Failed to boot 4" this .sbf is the ONLY thing you can flash if you want to stay locked. Basically, if you have even started the OTA process, or have ever flashed this .sbf, you burned a fuse in ReservedOdm and have only two types of .sbfs you can flash. This one, or any+Pudding. Only this one will let you stay locked and still boot.
If you flash anything with Pudding after the OTA and you are still locked, you will see 0x1000. But it will be a soft-brick, and then your only choice will be to:
a) 'fastboot oem unlock' to continue.
or
b) flash this .sbf instead, and stay locked.
An AT&T user should never see 0x1000 from flashing this .sbf.
But afterwards, downgrades are dangerous. 'Official' AT&T 4.5.91 users will hard-brick their phones with 0x1000, stuck in nvflash mode, if they ever try to use any .sbf except this one, or the very special non-motorola version of 1.8.3 (found in the Pudding thread) or Pudding itself. In the later case, you can still escape the 0x1000 by unlocking. If you flashed stock 1.8.3 or below after running GB 4.5.91 officially, your phone is a paperweight. Be warned.

As far as can be determined, the beta (from Moto dev servers) is the same as the "official" release now being pushed out.
so this include at&t stock GB kernel ( already posted by faux) and the well known .30P radio rigth?

Eval, can you give us the path to cat eFuse status again and the comparison against which we can tell whether we've passed the point of no return with bootloaders? I would like to see where I'm at. Thanks.
So is this a service or full sbf for 4.5.91?
I am currently running locked and stock At&t 1.8.3. I want to update to this new OTA sbf. I read eval's post.
However, can someone confirm (break it down for me) that it is possible and probably safe to unlock the phone later using pudding or some other means. I am not an advanced user but will like to flash CM7 once its available.

Best way to root latest 5.1 pure edition OTA?

What are people doing to root the newest official 5.1 pure OTA? I saw a couple of threads about root floating around, but cf autoroot seems to have failed for a few people. What are you guys using to root?

Completing this question by adding one more bit that is there any root method which supports easy unrooting like Kitkat days where we don't have to go through hassles and risks of flashing whole stock ROM again?
I rooted 5.1 by booting twrp and flashing latest supersu. I haven't tried yet to full unroot but it should work.

Via fastboot. I just unrooted my device, although bootloader says "Software status : Modified" so i don't think it's safe to OTA update.
Be careful with this method though. Cause as of now there is no full image of 5.1. Therefore no stock recovery if you want to flash everything back like stock , unless you go back to 5.0 and then flash ota, hence the potential risk.

Doesn't the factory reset convert the phone back into the stock? Like what used to happen in previous Android versions?

No, that's never been a thing. It only wipes /data and doesn't touch /system at all.
For that to work, they'd have to take up valuable phone space with system images.
As for root, getting it is virtually unchanged since 4.4.4. Use Cf-Auto-Root or let twrp do it.

Just flash TWRP and root that way... If you don't want to overwrite the default recovery, boot TWRP. No real risks, it hasn't changed from 5.0.

Unable to update AT&T Galaxy S5 to Lollipop on stock Touchwiz

I have an AT&T Galaxy S5 that has the default version of Touchwiz on it, with Android 4.4.2. I never rooted or flashed any roms on this device, yet I am unable to get OTA updates.
My friend, who has the same phone with AT&T, updated to Lollipop a while ago, and recently got another update, both of which I didn't get. Whenever I check for updates on my phone, under the About Device section in system settings, it says "Software Update Interrupted. No update is available for your device at this time. Please try again in 24 hours."
What can I do to update my device to Lollipop?
Thanks,
Sid

Moto X 2014 (XT1097 Canada) Wont Boot

Yeah, that's where I figured it was hanging. All signs just point to a bad flash/firmware. I'd try downloading a different version (even 5.1 since you're unlocked) or verifying the hash on the firmware you flashed. You can use HashMyFiles to check the md5 or SHA hashes.

ERROR: XML script not found in this factory image. This is not yet supported."

That firmware looks like the one for xt1095/T-Mobile/Pure Edition. Also, that error sounds like the HoM instructions weren't followed right. I've flashed my device a bunch with HoM.

Would this one work: VICTARA_NIIBR_XT1097_5.1_LPE23.32-14.2_cid12_CFC.xml.zip? I'm just confused with the "NIIBR" in the firmware name.

So the phone booted up, thank you so much for the help, but for some reason it wont detect my sim card, the wifi doesnt work on it, and it occasionally reboots. I also noticed that the baseband version is unknown. Is there a way to fix this?

Sounds like whatever firmware you flashed had the wrong radios. You should be able to download the Canadian firmware and just flash the radios.

I did flash the Canadian firmware to my knowledge. RETCA_XT1097_5.0.1_LXE22.46-22_cid14_CFC.xml?
I was browsing the xda threads and saw this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/guide-xt1097-to-xt1095-nextel-t2972693 where it states: "IMPORTANT. From 5.1 update, the modems included on the update are FULLY compatible with all models, XT1097, 1092 and 1093 and all carriers ,so, you don't have to worry about losing IMEI, signal or data." So, should I be able to flash the brazilian xt1097 firmware and have the proper radios installed from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/ota-android-marshmallow-6-0-final-t3248315 ?
