The phone at the verizon store bad the default ios emojis. I really hate these blobs Google gave us. I would love to change them but it seems pretty much impossible
Unfortunately, we cannot change the system emoji font without root access. It is up to the app developer to use the system emoji font or bundle their own emoji font though, which is why you see different emoji styles among the apps.
How can I download additional emojis to use on my Droid Turbo 2? The ones that came with the phone are lame.....

Luckily all the Quarks (XT1254, XT1225, XT1250) now have permanent root access. That post above was from 2 years ago (January 2015) before Sunshine team found/developed exploit to unlock the bootloader. With these Motorola phones you need unlocked bootloader to get permanent root.
All other Quarks -- except for the Verizon model -- always had easily unlocked bootloaders, with free unlock code given by Motorola on request. Only the Verizon model, the XT1254 Droid Turbo had the Verizon mandated locked-down bootloader, but Sunshine released an exploit ($25) to force unlock the bootloader in November 2015.
Anyone with a Droid Turbo XT1254 could unlock their bootloader and root for a full year (on Lollipop SU4TL-44 or SU4TL-49), until Verizon pushed out the Marshmallow update in late 2016. Anyone who didn't unlock their bootloader before then really didn't want to root their phone or they would have done so.
I have the Moto XT1225 and use an iOS emoji keyboard, flashed over Resurrection Remix 6.X (Marshmallow). You can find it here. Of course you will have to re-flash every time you do a ROM update. It says it's for Marshmallow. I have not looked for Nougat compatible versions.

Hate to tell you... you are not only in the wrong forum (this is the Quark forum, not the Kinzie forum), you also don't have root access.
This is the forum you are looking for:
KINZIE (Droid Turbo2/Moto X Force)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo-2
You bought the wrong Kinzie -- the Droid Turbo 2. Instead, if you are not a Verizon customer and don't need CDMA, you should have gotten the Moto X Force which has easily unlocked bootloader and permanent root.
If you are using Verizon or NEED CDMA, then you should have gotten the 2014 Droid Turbo, not the 2015 Droid Turbo 2. The sad Droid Turbo 2 bootloader was never unlocked.

This is my first Moto device and I'm not familiar with how to root these. All I know is its a Moto X Verizon exclusive (pig skin edition), I know the SIM is unlocked because I'm using it on At&t. If someone could help me by shooting me the proper links to a tutorial specific to this model phone I would seriously appreciate it. Thanks.

You cannot root it or unlock its bootloader, unfortunately. In the States only the Pure Edition can be unlocked and rooted. Also, it'll likely be a VERY long time until your model gets rooted if it ever does, and if I was a betting man, I'd go all in on its bootloader never getting unlocked. In other words, learn to love it stock because that's probably how it's going to stay.

US Cellular XT1093 can be unlocked, and does Sprint have it yet? If so, it's unlockable. I prefer to say "All variants except Verizon and ATT are unlockable" rather than "Only Pure Edition can be unlocked in the US". Plus it's less words (by one lol).

You're right, my bad. I keep forgetting that USC has it too. Not sure about Sprint.

Google promised Lollipop would have encryption by default, but turns out it's not true.
1) if you upgrade to Lollipop on Nexus 5, it's not automatically encrypted. It's choice to encrypt or not. I know, because I upgrade prior to selling my Nexus 5. Should be the same with the Moto Maxx, or any pre-Lollipop device.
http://betanews.com/2014/11/21/android-5-0-lollipop-encryption-severely-impacts-performance/
Luckily, encryption is not enforced by default, even if you make a clean install using a factory image. If you have upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop on a pre-Nexus 6 device, then using encryption is your call.

That was written November 2014, but now in 2015 we see...
2) lots of new Android phones on Lollipop are not encrypted.
WHY?
Google quietly backs away from encrypting new Lollipop devices by default
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015...m-encrypting-new-lollipop-devices-by-default/
Google won't force Android encryption by default (update)
http://www.engadget.com/2015/03/02/android-lollipop-automatic-encryption/
Is there a way to see if encrypt?

In 4.4.4 KitKat, if not encrypted, you will see a description of what encryption does. The screenshot above is from my Moto Maxx.
In 5.x Lollipop, if not encrypted, it will say "Encrypt Phone":
If already encrypted, it will simply say "Encrypted" under that entry.
This is identical to what my wife's HTC Nexus 9 tablet looks like, which came encrypted from the factory with Lollipop.
However, many new Lollipop Android devices are showing up without encryption being enabled due to the performance hit of encryption. Google is allowing that. If you upgrade from prior version of Android OS to Lollipop you get to choose whether to turn it on or not.
droid turbo 4.4.4 won't encrypt
So I decided to encript my phone. I did what it told me and it just reboots idk iv tryed it 20 or so times now. Anyone with a helpful idea
Guys what is the differences between the two version of Moto Turbo/ Maxx ? Can i install X1255 rom into X1254 or not?

I don't know of a x1255, there is a xt1225 moto maxx which is the international version of the turbo, which has the unlocked bootloader. There is the xt1254 which is the Verizon version. Then there supposedly an xt1250, which is CDMA on non-verizon, smaller providers though appears would be a goldmine because it also is boot lloader unlocked. I only know this from what chazzmatt posts

I think you mean the XT1225, the "international" Moto Max/Moto Turbo. Since you cannot unlock the bootloader to the XT1254 I would not flash any non-XT1254 ROM to it. You mess it up and you may not be able to recover.
You probably could flash an XT1250 (U.S. Moto Max) ROM to the XT1254, as they both have the same FCC ID. But again, since you can't unlock your bootloader, is it worth it?
More information, from a previous post I made:
_______
See, there were basically two Motorola Quark phones -- with two different FCC IDs -- released under THREE model names:
FCC ID IHDT56PK1:
XT1254 U.S. Droid Turbo/XT1250 U.S. Moto Maxx (identical device, CMDA/GSM/HSPA/LTE bands -- except for model name). The XT1250 will run on Verizon, with a Verizon SIM card. This device has LTE bands 2, 3, 4, 7, 13 enabled.

FCC ID IHDT56PK2:
XT1225 "international" Moto Turbo/XT1225 "international" Moto Maxx (identical device, GSM/HPSA/LTE bands, except for model names). This LTE bands 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 17 enabled.
Of the two Quark models -- released under three models names (Moto Maxx, Moto Turbo, Droid Turbo) -- only the one with the model name "Droid Turbo" has locked down bootloader. The XT1250 U.S. Moto Maxx is basically the "dev" version of the XT1254 "Droid Turbo" if you can get your hands on it. (unlock-able bootloader, can be easily rooted, TWRP installed, etc.)
__________
So i was thinking of getting a moto turbo for verizon, but I would also like root.
In review, i can get a Moto Maxx (the international version) xt1250 which is also verizon compatible but has unlocckable bootloader and is rootable. Yet I dont see much on this,
Questions;
1. How would I unlock the bootloader if not already unlocked (motorola site unlocker?)
2. How do I root it? Dont care about custom this or that (stock is good). TWRP is nice to have but not necessary (unless necessary for ROOT).
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Rico

You are confusing the two Moto Maxx models. The U.S. Moto Maxx XT1250 is identical to the Verizon Droid Turbo XT1254. That is what you want. They share the same FCC ID -- exact same bands, but the XT1250 has bootloader which can be unlocked, and rooted. Stick in a Verizon SIM card and it will run on Verizon like a non-Verizon Moto Nexus 6.
But that's the U.S. Moto Maxx (XT1250).
Whereas, the "international" Moto Maxx/Moto Turbo is the XT1225. It does not have CDMA, and has a slightly different mix of LTE bands. The "international" XT1225 (which you do NOT want) was released under two model names: Moto Maxx and Moto Turbo. I own two of them and run them on AT&T here in the U.S., as they have all the AT&T LTE bands. (I imported them from other countries.)

You want the U.S. Moto Maxx XT1250, which is sold by several regional CDMA/LTE carriers. You do NOT want the "international" Moto Maxx/Moto Turbo, if you want to run it on Verizon.

YES, that will unlock and root the XT1250. Many people have done it and run them on Verizon -- just like a non-Verizon Moto Nexus 6. :good:
This has just been released for Quark will this be avail for 1254 device? Any way to get this being on 5.1 with locked bootloader?

Do you not see the CM13 thread down below in Original Development section? That thread was started April 6, 2016 by the CM dev. That was the start of official nightlies. Before that it was in "preview" status for weeks! You posted without even looking?

Whether you install from the CM13 thread in this forum or the CM13 thread in the other Quark forum, it's still the SAME CM13. It works on ALL Quarks: XT1254/XT1250/XT1225.
There's actually two custom Marshmallow ROMs for ALL Quarks,
CM 13
Resurrection Remix.
CM13 is the official CM Marshmallow. Resurrection Remix is based on CM, but provides additional options. For the latter you have to go to the other Quark forum. Here's a list of ALL ROMs available for the Quarks.

No, you can't install on locked bootloader. You need root. On the Droid Turbo, the only want you can get root is to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP and SuperSu.

For the Droid Turbo XT1254, yes.
The exact identical device XT1250 (same CDMA/LTE bands and everything), you can unlock like the XT1225, via Motorola website. The XT1250 runs on Verizon with a Verizon LTE SIM card, just like a non-Verizon Nexus 6.
But if you already have an XT1254, probably easier just to use Sunshine.
Since Sunshine came along and bypassed Verizon's locked down bootloader last November, the XT1254 users have been able to join the custom ROM party like the other Quarks (XT1250, XT1225).
the $25.00 for sunshine is worth every penny. I couldn't be happier with my Turbo and resurrection remix
