I was a big fan of Search and Menu buttons on Android 2.3, which were abandoned on later versions.
Is there any way to modify button bar layout and get Search button back and ideally make Menu button permanently visible (like on enclosed picture)?
Or perhaps, is there any way to use AOKP configurable button bar on Xperia T?
Thank you in advance for help.

Hello. Whichever the android Pie rom I flash to my mi3, home and menu hardware buttons don't seem to work. Even if I enable On screen navigation buttons the home and recent buttons do not work. Only back button is working. I do not have this issue with stock MIUI Roms. Cannot figure out what I am doing wrong here. Can someone advise me on how to fix this issue. Thank in advance.
Is there a way to assign nav bar butons long-press custom function, if the AOSP based ROM doesn't have this kind of option baked in?
I need Home button to turn off screen and Menu button to show split screen when I touch and hold them.
The ROM I'm using right now is EvolutionX (Magisk root, A11 firmware, OSS vendor) but it doesn't have nav bar customization like other AOSP based ROMs I've tested, that allow the user to assign long-press functions to the all three nav bar buttons.
I've asked this on EvoX telegram dedicated channel but I haven't got an answer since it's not a bug, error or issue.
There are few apps on Play Store that allow to remap hard buttons but not soft nav bar buttons.
